Hiya,
So by popular demand its time for a 'regional' exchange. I always love this one as its really neat to learn about different areas and its so interesting what people have that you don't! Once I received some Buckeye chocolates - yum! and certainly nothing I'd heard of or tried before!
Anyway, here's what you need to know:
Sign ups run from today until next Thursday 15th March. Send by date will be the following Saturday 24th March.
Minimum spend $10 please.
Items should be specific to your region (home town, county (if in UK!), state - you decide!)
Open to all! I think this would be a fun exchange for kids too so if you want yours to join in just let me know :)
Please PM me if you want to join in with the following information:
Name
Address
Email Address
Willing to ship Internationally?
Willing to 'elf'?
If you are signing up DD/DS then let me know their age and gender please so I can match similar together :)
Any allergies?
Number of exchanges?
Think thats all I need!
Hope plenty of people join in,
Gaspodé

Pardon my ignorance but what does "willingly to 'elf'" mean?

Willing to be an elf - In the event that someone does not follow through with sending their package, you would be willing to send one. That is you send two packages, one to your person and one to someone who didn't receive.

I've pm'd. You might want to go on the UK board and let them know the exchange is happening as they probably don't know.

My DBF asked me to take a hiatus, but this one is too fun. That and I'm going to Atlanta for a week, just before I need to ship it out, so I might be able to get some regional treats from there too.
PS I love buck eye candy!!!

Okay, I am curious. I already have two food items purchased and was wondering what kind of non food items would be appropriate? I live near Kings Island - would key chain/pens/magnets be something anyone would want? Or is everyone wanting buckeyes?

Count me in - anyone for haggis? ;) Kx
AlexWyattMommy
03-15-2007, 07:14 AM
Uhm, no thank you to haggis. Even Scooby Doo and Shaggy wouldn't eat haggis. But if you happen to have a kilt wearing, bag pipe playing, red headed lad.....;) Oh, wait, I'm a married woman. nevermind. :sad1:

Hmmm. I'm trying to figure out what is Canadian!?!?! Is maple sugar Canadian???? Or, do they have that other places too...
The first thing that came to mind was Icewine because I'm from the Niagara area... however, I'm not a millionaire ;)

Hiya
I'm afraid names will be delayed until tomorrow afternoon (British time - so early morning for you in the USA I should think!)
Taking a lot of time to work it all out fairly so that people from neighbour states aren't sending and receiving with each other - I figure you'll mostly get similar things in neighbour states you see!
Anyway it's gotten really late so I have to go to bed I'm afraid.
Sorry for the delay and I'll have your names with you as soon as I can tomorrow.
Best Wisehs,
Gaspodé

That is so sweet!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do that.
I would much rather have something from a different region other than my own.

??? What/Who is Dudley DoRight???
And, the only place I have ever had cheese soup is Le Cellier. It is so funny how the "countries" are so different than the real thing.
We definitely do say "eh" though. Spelled eh.

There used to be a skit, I think on Saturday Night Live, that had what were supposed to be two Canadian guys who said eh & ai after everything. I think they even made one movie with those characters.
Dudly DoRight (probably spelled wrong) was a cartoon character in the 70's who was a Canadian mountie always coming to the rescue of a damsel (same damsel all the time). I believe Disney made a movie with Brandon Fraiser being the lead character.
I only said cheese soup because that is the one thing everyone raves about from LeCellier. I personally have never had it, but sure do think about it alot.
Pretty funny, or sad I guess, how there are only a few hundred miles between us and I don't know enough about Canada to know what it really Canadian.

03-16-2007, 11:36 AM
Oh yes, the Brandon Fraser memory is coming back :rotfl:
And, I too dream of the cheese soup... I was lucky to get it once... :wizard:
Hehehehe... can you send soup in the mail? I got the recipe book.
