Does anyone else just love this kid? Both my kids love his little shows.
Yesterday we saw Ashley Young and they were both mad. All morning they were saying "where is Daniel Cook and why is there a new girl?" She's cute too, but my kids enjoy learing from Daniel. I hope Disney renewed his contract.

Sorry, no he gets on my nerves. I don't know why. I used to like him but lately, not so much.

Emily Yeung is cute, I saw her this morning.

DD doesn't pay attention to either though.

My daughter loves him too! He's so adorable! There's a guy that DH works with that reminds us of Daniel. Everytime I see him, I laugh because he reminds me so much of Daniel Cook!

My girls just love Daniel Cook! They really look forward to seeing him.
He was on Oprah a couple of months ago. It was cute to see how his show
was made and talk to him.

DS2 loves Daniel Cook! We haven't seen the new girl yet though. The only problem I have with DC is that he says "yeah" instead of yes, which DS has decided to do as well now. We're working on breaking that habit right now.

I love Daniel Cook too, but I'm wondering if maybe he's getting a little too old for his target audience and they are bringing in Emily as a replacement?

He has to get older eventually right??

I'm afraid he bugs me to no end. I'm really glad Disney kept the spot, but with a new "host."

Add me to those who don't care for his spot. (I hate to say him because his mom could be a DISer. :flower3: ) I can't put my finger on why though. Wish I could explain it.

Too funny about yea, not yes! :rotfl2: I am having the same problem with my DSpirate: . I must correct him a million times a day. I also realized that I say yea way too often. Good luck!

By the way, we like Daniel Cook. He's a cutie. I hope he was not replaced.

He annoys me too! I love how he ALWAYS knows more than the adult who is trying to show him things. He is a little intense and serious for an 8 year old. And the theme drives me crazy, both my kids sing it.

Blah! He really annoys me and my DD4. We haven't watched his spot for awhile so we may have to tune in for the new girl. I agree, he seems like a little know it all and doesn't show much emotion. DD4 calls him "zombie boy"!

His parents annoy me for putting him on TV. The show drove me nuts. I didn't know there is a new little girl...we might have to check her out. Luckily DD has moved on to Diego.

add us to the "don't care for Daniel Cook" list - he's a cute kid but somewhat on the obnoxious side - and (not to offend, but) I don't like orange on kids with red-orange hair

Funny that it seems those with girls didn't like him yet the majority of those with boys do? I have 2 little guys and I find him rather annoying but my boys like him. I have not seen the new "girl" yet. We'll have to watch for her!

IMHO Daniel Cook is very annoying! But my kids love him. My dd has a crush on him.

I bet they have brought in somebody new because Daniel is growing up and needs somebody younger.

We actually don't like either. Neither of my DS's liked the Daniel Cook show and they don't bother with Emily either. Actaully I wish they would update a few of their shorts. If we have to listen to that good night song (not sure of the name) where he sleeps for the first time in is own bed I might scream. But we love the Dan Zane's House Party. :goodvibes

Has nothing to do with that. I have DS9, DD7, & DD20 mo. My DS would get on my nerves as well if he acted like him.:)
DD20 mo. loves the DoodleBops though - OMG, I would love to run my head into a wall when they come on.

This is Daniel Cook, This is Emily Yeung are Canadian productions that are made for Public television in Canada partly funded by the government. So while you may have been seeing Daniel the last couple of years, we have had him around for awhile. He has even interviewed our current prime minister when he was campaigning. Asked some great questions. He is now too old to show young children their perspective on things.

I asume that Disney has purchased the rights to this show for the US market. I am sure that Disney has some say in the production, but not much. They have to keep the show Canadian for the government grants.

Daniel Cook and the Doodlebops and that Life w/ Derek show have to be the most annoying Canadian exports ever. I don't know what caused Disney to acquire them.:confused3 Maybe the D in all the names?

I have to agree about Daniel Cook being annoying! No one here in our house really pays him much attention. Though somedays I CANNOT get that silly song out of my head!!
We just love Dan Zane!!!!! Does anyone remember him from Sesame Street? He had little song bits on there also!!!

Wow, I didn't realize Daniel Cook was a Canadian show. I knew the Doodlebops were (now THAT is an annoying show).

Dan Zanes is the BEST...we're planning on seeing him in concert. Anyone (who was a teen in the 80's) remember the Del Fuegos? They were even a bit before me (I'm 34), but he was the lead singer. Now he does children's music. My kids favorite is "All Around the Kitchen." So cute!!!

Add us to the "Can't stand Daniel Cook" group!! But I wouldn't call him mature by any means!!! He never pays attention to what the people are trying to teach him, always interrupts when they are talking, and generally, is just very annoying!! I've seen only 1 of Emily's shows and thought she was ok, at least she asked good questions and paid attention.

As for the Dan Zanes fans...LOVE HIM TOO! We saw him last year at MGM (DD's first concert!) and it was the best show!! Everyone was dancing and singing - it was great!! He signed autographs after the show too. I'd love to see Ralph's World too, his music is so fun!

OMG I am so relieved not to be the only one who is a bit irritated by him!

What jumps out at me the most is how he rarely makes eye contact with neither his guest nor the camera. He is kind of just staring off into space.

He is really serious too. I could maybe tolerate him more if he'd just be allowed to loosen up and be a kid!

Disney doesn't do the Daniel/Emily show - it comes from Treehouse, a Canadian kids channel that is like Disney/Noggin.

I have always wondered if Daniel Cook has some form of Autism.. He never looks directly at the guests and as a few autisic tendencies...( watch him closely and youll see what I mean)

Im not positive but he really reminds me of a few kids I work with!

It is kind of sad that so many adults dislike this child for being "annoying, irratating, too serious" and for "not paying attention or making eye contact" (which is so easy to see on TV) . Too even go so far as to say they HATE the show and think he shows signs of being Autistic. What a shame that such harsh words are being used to describe a child who has entertained and delighted millions of children for the past few years. He kind of reminds me of a certain mouse I know....

Daniel Cook and Emily Yeung are bright, inquisitive, self-confident children who happen to have shows on TV. I imagine that each of those episodes takes more than one shot to get it right, but they always appear enthusiastic and in control every time. Perhaps their questions are not always as interesting or intrusive as something you might read in the National Enquirer, but these kids are only seven or eight years old. Give them a few more years to become jaded by the negativity of the world.

By the way, Daniel is so well loved, just for being him (imagine that!) that he has a second show called, "I Dare You!". It is all about encouraging children to get up and move. You can add motivating to his list of qualities.

We love you Daniel Cook! You are a terrific role model.

If children live with kindness, they learn respect.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place to live."

This is not directly at you poster: Has anyone ever stopped to think that there are producers of this show and more than likely this is how they prefer the format of the show to flow. It's suppose to be a kid asking questions about things he knows nothing about. It seems like people will always have something petty to complain about. Want something to complain about - did we forget our babies are still being killer over there???

This is so cute! Thanks for posting it, not one that will entertain son forever but a couple weeks I think he'll ask to play it.

I haven't seen disney channel in a while and didn't realize Daniel was 8. Does he look that old?

We always thought he was cute. Son loved him when he was younger, he is 4 now and still likes him but not like he used to.

Thank you kindly for writing this. I couldn't agree more.

It was my pleasure. It is nice to see more Daniel Cook supporters. I found myself thinking that most of the people who entertain children, not including cartoon or animation, are adults. It is refreshing to have a child's point of view and we get that from both Daniel and Emily.

Cheers Everyone,
