We do the mail-in entries for YOAMD. This week, we got a Postal notice saying that we had a certified letter/package from Disney. (I won the laynard before, so I am fairly certain it is a Dream, but of course I could be wrong). We went to the Post Office to sign for it, only they said they lost it, and we would have to wait for a second notice to come retrieve it.
I hope they find it. I wouldn't even know with whom I could follow up for these matters. :sad2:

UPDATE (can anyone tell me how to update thread titles? thanks)
Apparently, the post office sent back the package after it wasn’t picked up. My first notice is dated 3/5, they sent back the package on 3/9. Based on their instructions, we had waited the extra days for a “second notice” but it never came.
I am really just bummed. Anyone have an address where I can send a letter? I think there was a guest communications email a while back.
Thanks for listening, everybody! I know it’s not a big deal, but I just want to make an effort to retrieve whatever I won, instead of just giving up.

Lately I have been so disappointed with the post office. Sure hope your package shows up.

I don't know about contacting Disney for your package to be returned to you, but I would file a complaint with the Postmaster General. You can do that right through www.usps.com.
I have had nothing but problems with our post office. Just this past weekend my husband and I moved to a new town. He dropped off the change of address form a month ago requesting that our mail begin going to the new place as of March 7th (I received the keys on the 6th). Wouldn't you know, they didn't change it. I went over to the post office myself on Monday morning to bring another change of address and the guy there tells me they can't do it effective that day. I told him they had to because we no longer had keys to our old place and we could not pick up the mail. I did make sure to leave a note in the box for our mailman, but who knows whether he paid attention to that.
I did change a number of addresses with companies that I deal with, especially for the bills, so those should be coming to the new address anyway. But I know I didn't get to change everything.
I think the USPS needs a complete overhaul because there is far too much incompetence there these days. I have had numerous problems, especially with our old office, for the entire 8 years that I lived in the town and they had no answers as to why there were so many problems. Yet I can't tell you the number of things that I never received because of them.

I agree about contacting your Postmaster. It is unacceptable that you followed their instructions and they still goofed it up. Hopefully Disney will give you a call since your phone number was on the postcard when they get the package back. Sending you some pixie dust so that it will all work out it the end. pixiedust:

Do you still have the orginal pink slip? If so it has the tracking number on the package/letter. You could use that to contact Disney and possibly have the package/letter re-sent.
Here's the procedure for delivery of a certified letter/package.
Just prior to leaving the office for delivery, carriers are brought their "accountables" which they sign for. These include registered, certified and insured items.
The carrier then fills out a pinkish/peach slip known as a 3840. It has your name, address, the tracking number, what it is (letter, parcel) and what type of accountable it is,date and carrier intials.
When the carrier gets to the house he/she has to scan the bar code on the letter/package. They attempt to deliver it ( you have to be there ) if you aren't home, the 3840 is scanned as "attempted" and then placed in your mailbox.
Upon return to the post office, the scanner is put in it's charger and the information that was scanned into it, downloaded.
The letter is then handed back to the accounting clerk who is then suppossed to lock it up until:
A-you come sign for it
B-2 3840's have been delivered to your home and at least a week has passed.
If you don't come the first time, 3-4 days later a 2nd 3840 is given to the carrier to deliver. The accounting clerk writes these up.
How they could lose the letter/package is a shocker to me. The only time it leaves the safe is when it is picked up or sent back.

Try emailing "guest.mail@wdw.disneyonline.com".
I wmailed them after I read that you could get a co-pilots license if you sit in the front car of the mono-rail. With in a week, I got them in the mail.
They may be able to help you, or direct you to the right people.

Thanks for this. I spoke to a different postal person this time, and she elaborated further on the situation.
We moved into our new home about 1 month ago, so a mail forwarding was activated. The package initially went to the old address (sometime in February), and then forwarded to our new address (3/5/07). The postal clerk said that they consider the original date of delivery, which is why I only had 4 days to pick up the package. Still, they told me to wait, so I did, and this is the outcome.
I wrote DIsney, and included a copy of the pink notice. It would be great if I get a response, but I think that is as far as I will take it. I did win once before, which was a big thrill, so no complaints in the end!
Thanks, everybody, for listening, and for pixie dusting!
