I included DVC on my Christmas wish list and I was wondering if anyone has received this as a gift.

We definitely paid for our 7 DVC contracts, but DH and I met a woman at the Disney Store last year who received hers as a Christmas gift from her parents. Her brother also got one. I hinted to my parents, but no luck!

We bought DVC this year as a gift to ourselves. Does that count?

My DH and I are in the process of signing the paperwork this week.(WLV) We decided against giving gifts to one another this year and considered DVC "the big gift".
Merry Christmas !
Actually we haven't ever received a DVC membership as a Christmas gift but if you would like to buy an add on for us we would be glad to tell you how it feels to receive this type of gift.

I just bought into DVC in Nov. The $4,000 downpayment came from MY retirement fund from the company I worked for for 12 years. So I figure this is DHs big Christmas present from me this year.
There will be DVC t-shirts for my husband, 9yr DS and myself under the tree. My husband's DVC membership card will be wrapped in a box. The DVC license plate will be under the tree. I bought myself the DVC pin. And of course there's tons of Disney under our tree this year.

Wow, that would be a great gift. I would even settle for the dues as a Christmas gift. I am still waiting to spend time in Disney for Christmas. I would love to see it. Merry Christmas, safe and happy holiday to all!:)

I was looking for a filler for under my Christmas tree. My 9yr DS presents are smaller this year - Playstation CDs, music CDs, etc.
I found an empty box in the cellar and Im putting my DHs DVC membership card inside. This box will be "wrapped" in a large snowman bag. I told my DS so he's not upset when the big box isnt for him.
I got this for Mother's day last year and I probably would have started collecting more and more, but we ended up w/ a nice profit on a sale of some property and went for an add on over the summer.....who knows how long it would have taken me to get to even 25 points the other way. Now I just ask for Disney Dollars...I think I've got some under the tree right now...well I say under the tree, but I really mean next to the tree that's still in the box. I haven't even put the tree up yet!!

Great idea Lora!
I got a 38 pt. add on for my birthday last year...but it was decided upon jointly, not a surprise.
Our original contract was purchased with a very large and very unexpected gift from a relative...I nearly passed out in shock when some very large checks showed up in my mailbox one day! We paid down some bills and joined DVC!

I got 230 OKW points for my 11th Wedding Anniversary!!!! I've asked for add-ons for Christmas but Santa didn't respond in the past and I don't think he'll go for it this year. But........it will always be on my list!!

YES !! It was August of 2000 that we bought 1/2 of our intended DVC interest (we were waiting for WLV to go on sale for the other 1/2), and my wife and I stated at the time it was to be our Christmas presents to each other !!

After attending WDW and the Millenium celebration for New Years as our guests, our friends went home dreaming of DVC. For Christmas last year, the husband bought a resale as a suprise for her. She called me as soon as she opened it and said, "how could you keep this a secret from me"!!!!:D

Actually yes, we bought it for ourselves Christmas 1991. We started the paperwork that October, but we called it our Christmas present to each other.

We always go to WDW in the fall as our anniversary gift to each other(ann. is 10/18). This year we didn't go b/c we had a baby in Sept.
September 26th was my 30th birthday and I was on the computer that afternoon, where I read about the magical beginnings program, and said to DH (half-jokingly)I want 50 HH points for my birthday!! He called and got me 100.:D
Just so happened that our closing date was 10/18..so no, never got DVC for Christmas, but did for my birthday/annversary.
Our first HH trip is 3/16-can't wait!!!

This is so encouraging. DVC makes such a great gift. I didn't receive DVC for Christmas but there is always next year.
Congratulations to all that did!

My wife and I almost joined back in in May of 2000, but decided to spend the money on house repairs. We took my parents to WDW in October of this year. They had such a great time they decided to join the DVC (which was very surprising since they have always dislike timeshares!). As a Christmas present they made us joint owners!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I know its not Christmas, but I gave our DVC membership to my husband for Fathers Day, 2000. Its the best gift I've ever given him.

I told my Mom that would be a great family gift for my family of 3 and my sisters family of 4 since we are both members, but my husband and I should get more because she already has 350 points and we only have 150. We need to catch up!:)
