You need to find an image editor that will save transparent gifs. LView does this as do many other image editors. I really can't give you specific instructions because I don't know what editor you're using but if you search the 'net for "transparent gif editor" you'll probably find all the information you need. Basically, it will take all of the white in your image and make it transparent.

Go to usercp > edit options. Go to the very bottom and click on Change Avatar.

Go to the bottom again where it says "You can enter an URL of your avatar:"

Enter this code:

wdwinfo.com/sites/techca/mickeymousehat.gif

Then click on submit modifications.

That should do it. :D
