Hi,

We just got back a couple weeks ago and they had the 100 years of Magic mugs priced at $9.00 good at the pool, the restaurants, and the lounge for soft drinks, coffee, or tea. We were there for 6 days and it works out to be a very good deal, and the mug is one of the nicest ones we've seen at the resorts! They do change them periodically though so I don't know what they'll have when you go!

We were there over Thanksgiving, and there were big signs up saying that these mugs were for the Fall of 2001 only, which I believe differ from other resorts.

It may be different in regards to non DVC resorts, but when we stayed at the Poly and at AS, the mugs did not have a year on them, and could be reused at any time. I saw people being told that they could not use previously purchased mugs, and they were obviously not happy.

We did buy the mugs, but didn't get as much value out of them as we had at the other resorts mentioned, due to the fact, with the kitchen we purchased drinks for our room, whereas earlier, we always went to the resort drink counter to get all drinks. What was nice, though was for cocktails at the pool. We bought beer and wine coolers, and brought a little collapsible cooler so every afternoon, we filled this up to bring to the pool or beach and it saved us a ton of money on drinks, except for the many times, I wanted a VB daily specialty drink instead, lol.

Do the DVC Resorts offer these mugs too? We got them at the AS last year and they were a great deal but I guess I just asssumed the DVC resorts didn't do it. Hubby will be thrilled if they do. We will be using our DVC for the first time mid January (OKW) and now that Xmas is over it's time to get ready for DISNEY!!!!:D

We were at OKW in early Dec. I don't remember the price of the mug and drink when you first buy it. But refills at OKW were $1.69.

You had to pay for a refill? Maybe I'm not used to the "nicer" resorts but when we bought them at AS the whole purpose of buying them was that the refills were free.....

OKW and BW do not offer free refillable mugs. From what I heard it is because we have kitchens and would not need them. I would think it might also be because we are for sure returning guest and they would need to change the cup more often.
That might be why Vero keeps changing its cup by the season.

Wilderness lodge used to have refillable free refills, do they still since the villas opened?

At Fort Wilderness you can not use the mugs in the restuarant, Trails end. But you can buy a refillable mug at the cash register at Trails end and have it refilled there. Makes no sense to me.

You do not have to pay for refills at Vero.

Even though no one has asked specifically about Hilton Head, I thought I'd throw it in anyway. I bought a refillable mug at Hilton Head last week for $8.95 and it says specifically "Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort 2002" on it. There was a sign at Tide Me Over that said the mugs are good until January 1, 2003 and the refills were free. If Tide Me Over is closed, you can get your mug refilled at the Mercantile which I thought was nice.

Can you get the mug refilled at both places at Hilton Head?

I would love to go to Hilton Head, When is it warm enough to swim in the Ocean??

I'm a newbie to Hilton Head but will try to answer your questions. I assume when you mention getting a refill at "both places" you mean Tide Me Over and the counterservice place at the Beach House (which was closed by the way when we were there). My assumption would be yes (please correct me someone if I am wrong). Tommy (can't think of the url right now) who posts a lot on this board has a great Hilton Head site that lists the average tempertures which will help you in determining a good time of year to swim in the ocean. It was pretty chilly last week but we still had a great time. Hope this info helps ya' out a bit!

I noticed that WL still had free refills in early Dec. They have 2 types of refillable mugs, one is more narrow on the bottom to fit into a car cup holder.

When did they start the refillable mugs in HH? We were there in August and if they had them we missed them. We are going to Vero in July and hopefully they will still have them there.

The water is warm and weather perfect in August in HH. On the day of the horse ride for the kids it was too hot for the horses, but it wasn't too hot for the Pinckney Island hike. :)

We were just at VWL and purchased three mugs. I was told at the time of purchase that they were good indefinitely. We'll see.

We were at BWV over Thanksgiving. The mugs were 9 something. Free refills at counter service on the Boardwalk and the pool. The girl who sold them to me at the Bakery, specifically said to bring them back year after year.
