Girl/Boy School Themed Swap

Due date is April 14th (that is when I need to receive your package. Please mail packages out by April 7th with DELIVERY CONFIRMATION. I will wait one week to return them just in case someone‘s doesn‘t arrive on schedule).

1. Choose your Group
2. These kits will consist of 1 Tag 2x4 and 1 element of your choice. See list for more details.
3. PM me with your DIS name, name, home address, email address, and phone numbers. Email and phone numbers will only be used to follow up if I have not heard from you.
4. Post your weekly status on the Progress thread - which will be posted after the slots are filled.
YOU MUST CHECK IN 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DUE DATE. IFNOT A PM/EMAIL WILL BE SENT AND IF YOU DO NOT RESPOND IN 24 HOURS, YOUR SPOT WILL BE ANGELLED.
5. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.
6. Packing Instructions - use a Ziploc for each person and put everything for that person into their bag. Please label each bag with your name so we know who made each kit. You‘ll have 6 bags to enclose in the larger (gallon size) Ziploc bag. – Please be sure to include your name, your DIS name. Include $4.05 for postage (or stamps if you don't want to send cash) to return your items. Delivery Confirmation is $0.50.
PLEASE DON’T SEND METERED OR CLICK-IT/SHIP-IT POSTAGE SOME HOSTESS HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THIS RECENTLY.
7. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.
8. There will be 6 people per group. The total groups will depend on enthusiasm.
9. HAVE FUN!!

NO hand written lettering on ANY items. Please use computer fonts, rub-ons, or stamps.
NOTE: Embellished means using brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon/fiber, 3D stickers (matted stickers are okay too) or embossing.
Think—books, globes, pens, crayons, buses, apples, musical instruments-just general, and no sports as that will be later

Element Selection:
Journaling Box: 1PP at least a 3x3 writing area, double matted and embellished
Tag: 1 PP for medium or large tags, 2 pp for 2x3 tags, double matted and embellished, include either ribbon/fiber or eyelet/brad in the hole
Embellished Squares: 2PP 1-1/2x1-1/2 or larger if you wish, double matted and embellished
Slide Mounts: 2PP be creative here please
Envelopes: 2PP be creative please
File Folders or Matchbooks: 1 PP if medium size or larger, 2 pp if mini sized. Must be embellished in some way
Bottle Caps: 2PP if metal, 4PP if paper
Library Pocket and Tag: 1PP no smaller than to hold 2x3 a tag that should have ribbon/fiber or eyelet in the hole
Shaker Box: 1PP be creative please
Paper Piecing: 1PP be creative please
License Plate: 1PP be creative please
Signage/Bookmark: 1PP 2x6, double matted and embellished

Oh, you can have as many as you like.
Since this is a super simple swap to make, and there is only 6 people per group, it shouldn't be too hard to swap out. So I'm okay with more groups than listed already.

That is what DH said to me just last night.. I have a 5 ft bar area between my kitchen/DR.. in one corner to go down stairs is a small basket w/ scrapping supplies.. while you round the corner into the kitchen on the 5ft counter that is an extension of the bar area.. I have a pile of newpapers/ribbons/ pictures that need to be scrapped.. Hello? Yes, I know I'm collecting..but it will eventually be something so worthwhile.. If I could just get a few mintues of peace to work on something.. I still have 10 scrapbook pages in the basement that just need put together.. they are ready.. but they need adhesive.. and I can't even find 30 minutes to do that!
I need a real vacation!!!

Mickeyteacher, that is so kind! My supplies arrived today so if I manage to make everything in time I'll do that. My supplies have arrived so if I manage to get my cropadile to work I'll be well away - but I've not made tags before, so I'll have to make sure I don't hold up anything else.

ETA: Colours question: I've got some lovely Autumn colours in my stash, which are great for me as our kids go back in September, but would that be OK for everybody or do you prefer brights/primary colours as your kids go back a bit earlier?

I like all colors. Since my kids are in school during autumn, it is good for me to have both, primary & fallish.

I have so much going on right now! Yikes! :eek: A baby shower invite (56 of those), a baby announement (a lot of those!! For my SIL), 2 sets of baby thank you notes (50 in each) - plus end of year stuff at DD school (already!!), 4 swaps and of course, my books - which I haven't touched in over a month.

I wasn't going to do it, but DS came up with a cool idea :idea: so we will be making a tag and a journal box. I hope they turn out half as good as they are in my head! :rolleyes:

I've nearly done mine - I had an inspiration! I just need to finish embellishing (wouldn't you know I've hardly any pen/pencil or book stickers and the XPCS doesn't have a pattern for one :headache: ) DH said he was in awe - then spent an hour on some computer game with NOTHING to show for it at the end (unlike a load of cool tags and journal boxes;) ) Mind you, he might be less in awe when the credit card bill hits the mat :guilty:

But, I do have a random question...:confused: My tag isn't a tag in the conventional sense - I don't really want it to have fibers or ribbon. It is big enough to be a tag (about 3.5 x 4.5). Does anyone care about the fibers and/or ribbon? :confused3 I could force the issue, but I'd rather not.

Nah, it doesn't matter to me. If someone really wants to put a ribbon or fiber on it, they can do that themselves when the get it. As long as your finished element looks like a finished element, it doesn't need that "one more thing". I am flexible.
