We are currently considering a purchase through re-sale. Is there any 'gotchas' anybody knows about!?!?
SMART DECISION!!!! If you're willing to make the effort, you can save considerably over purchase via DISNEY.
The FIRST rule of resales: EVERYTHING IS NEGOTIABLE;) ;) . Think of your car buying experiences:cool: . Closing and transfer fees(around $500) are generally paid by the buyer. EACH DEAL HAS TO BE JUDGED ON ITS OWN MERIT, not just the price/point. You must consider the amount of borrowed/banked points; you must negotiate who is responsible for maintenance fees already paid on points (the seller will ask for reimbursement, but this too is negotiable).
Don't fall in love with any one deal. There are always others. Some sellers are more "motivated" for varied personal reasons.
Good Luck,

We bought thru resale (TSS) and I couldn't agree more with what EROS posted above. The whole transaction was pretty simple.
Good luck...

Yes, everything was very simple for me and very smoothe. And, yes, everything is negotiable. I got a lower price than asking and had the seller pay the closing costs. I was prepared to walk away if they didn't meet my price and that put me in the best negotiating position. Like EROS said, I knew if they didn't accept, there were plenty more deals where that one came from.
If you are working with either of the two resale brokers listed on these boards that deal in resales you should be find. There are many members that bought through resales and I have not heard of one horror story about the process.
Good luck
