Do you prefer Math or English?
I prefer doing math. Once you learn the steps, you can do any problem like that, and I just find it easy.
I strongly dislike grammar. It's just weiirrdd and I'm not good at it =D
I also don't like writing. I'm not good at thinking of what to write, and when I have to write something it is always short.
But I do enjoy studying poems. In enlglish, we just studied a ton of poems, and I enjoyed seeing what they all meant and represent.

I am currently a sophomore taking Geometry & Adv. Algebra II, and Adv. English II.

Which do you like more, and why?

I. HATE. Math. I work my tail off for a 92. (Which is considered a B here.. :sad2:)

On the other hand, I'm a writer. I have like a 104 in my English/Writing classes now. XD

I'm in 8th grade. I'm taking Algebra I and English Honors.

My math class (and teacher) is pretty boring.

My Language Arts class is the toughest class I've ever been in. My teacher is very strict when grading assignments. However, my teacher is a wonderful person, and goes to the fullest extent to teach my class a lesson.

For that reason, I love Language Arts, while I can just barely stand Math.

English.
though, I dislike the class because the classes get samey. For about a month, we'll do these annoying lesson things. and then we'll do short stories.
I hate writing now, I used to be very good and stuff, but I've just lost the ability because we don't exercise that ability much.

Math just sucks because I'm not into it. I ignore the teacher in class and not do homework and get good marks on tests.

I HATE MATH!

I don't even take it anymore hahah.
I'm really terrible at it, now that I don't take it anymore I can't remember ANYTHING mathematical though. It's scary.

This sounds cheesy, but I like them both. What I absolutely hate is the people who say that if you're good at one you can't be good at the other. These people also say that if you are smart and get good grades, sepecially on things like grammar, you are not creative. These are also the people who get grades lower than you, don't work as hard as you, and have a lower chance of getting into college. When that day comes, I will go HA!!!

I hate math more than anything! ( EVEN MORE THAN SCIENCE!!) Im getting a 79. And all the "smart" kids are all like "OMG I GOT A 97 I HATE MY SELF! I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A 100!!!!" Its SOOO annoying!

I LOVE History tho...its SOOO fun for me! And reading is cool. Language arts? Eh...better than math!

That is not true! Some people have a nack for other things...and also inteligence isnt just about school..its also inteligence about life (which i feel i have more of since im more of the humanist subjects kinda person) And some people have another speed of learning.

There are also people who DONT try as hard and get lower grades but you cant say that in general they are like that... I work my brain off and im failing math!

Well. I like math. It's usually very easy for me, but the class is extremely boring.
As for English, I enjoy the class more, but I don't do as well in it.

The last thought kind of irks me and reminds me of a friend.
I know I'm not going to go very far in life, but that's because I'm not passionate in the kind of things that will bring you money and such. I refuse to work my bum off in say science, because I know when I get into college, I won't be studying that. I don't want to waste my life away on stuff I don't like. Some people are just lazy, and some people know what they definately don't like and don't see a future in.
I'll be content someday being a random writer for a local newspaper, as long as I'm happy.

I took it early, but I'm taking it again this year

I don't like English because our teacher is boring and keeps dragging on on one subject

Our math teacher has a short temper but I understand better

:confused3 I just think we are taught "too much" sometimes. Like with grids, coordinate planes, etc......I mean, not EVERYBODY is going to use that stuff in normal life unless you're an architect or something. But I think English is more important because you speak it everyday. :confused3

This year it is Math. I in reality love both, it just depends on how it is taught to me.
My Algbra 2 teacher is fabuluos, and I get math easily, therefore I like it.
My Eng2H teacher is so hard and I swear he hates me. I really do not care for his class, or British Literature.
I think alot of our outlook on these subjects is based off of the teachers who teach ir or attempt to teach it to us.

I defantely think English is better than Math. To me, English builds up my character and intellegence way more than any Geometry problem could do.

Learning about Great Poets of the time is very intriguing to me.

Learning about the arc of a circle however, not intriguing at all.

Just my little ol' opinion though. :p
