well we are going to book this cruise next month on our April cruise, so thought I would get a jump on a cruise meets thread for it.:woohoo:

Our last 3 day cruise it took 10 months of posting to find someone who was cruising with us. So I figured I'd better get an early start again this time.

Hi Marsha,
well you have plenty of time to decide, but remember the price will continue to climb, so even if you dont go you may want to try and put the deposit down on it to hold the current price. You can always cancel and get all your deposit back
That will save you a lot if you go, just a way to protect yourself from the price going up while you decide. And if you dont go, you get it all back to use on a different cruise.

Kathy, I am thinking that my husband needs to get the same job as your husband so we can afford to take all these cruises! Is it really cheaper when you book while on a cruise? And if you book you really get all you deposit back? We may have to think that through before we have our first cruise April 28.

Hi, i fyou book while on board you get %10 off and a room credit too.
The amount depends on the length of your cruise.

Yes if you book then and then change your mind later you can cancel with NO penalties . Up to a certain amount of days before your cruise sets sail, I cant remember what the cut off date is right now, sorry.

But I see you live in Florida too, so dont forget about the Florida resident discounts they sometimes have!!!
About 6 weeks before your cruise check and see if they are offering this discount. They do NOT advertise this, you must check it out for yourself.
We check at www.*************.com they list them there. If you see your cruise and category room listed call DCL or your TA immediately!! They only offer it for a short time and then it is gone!!
Just remember TA's usually say I dont know anything about it, but it is there and they do have to give it to you. Tell them to call Dsiney ASP!!! They dont like to do it because it cuts into their commissions.
Disney will sometimes say no, then ask for the superivsor. I dont know why they give us a hard time because they are the ones who offer it. But anyway we have got it on several cruises. we always take the refund and roll it over to the next cruise. I f you book on board and then get the Florida discount you will loose the 10% and room credit, but the savings is usually worth a few hundred more than you are loosing, so it is well worth it.
We have got 2 3 day cruises at 1/2 price, so worth the hassle.

Too bad you arnt going 4/5 then we could of met on board!!

I told my husband the best way to keep peace in his house, is to keep a couple of cruises booked at all times!!:rotfl2:

Good to hear from you.
The 3 day I am going on next week took 10 months to find one person, so I am not discouraged, but I have to post everyday to keep this thread on pages 1 and 2 so people will be able to easily find it.

It is Easter weekend, as you know, that makes it more spendy, which is redicilous because we get back on Easter, we dont actually sail on it.
Oh well, we do it then because Greg gets Good Friday off, so he doesnt loose any vacation days, just leaves a couple hours early on Thursday. He is the boss, so he can sneak out a little early.

well I have one week from today and I will be setting foot on the Wonder for 3 days!!!

Are you going to go and see Paul Revere and the Raiders next weekend?? I cant believe they ar eplaying at Epcot the same weekend we are cruising. Davy Jones is always the opening act, so I thought we were ok sailing.

I love PR and the R. I use to go and see them as a kid at super market openings and the state fair after they got to be a little more known.
So I have watched them go from nobodies to stars.

we will try to see the Grassroots,Hermans Hermits and a few others too.

I'm not sure if going to Epcot this weekend. Saturday I have to get my hair trimmed. So sat is out for sure. Sunday they say possible some rain. So sorta depends on the weather if go Sunday. we were deck 2 ocean view and we got bumped up to deck 6 cat 6 verandah. The room is AFT which isour favorite part of the ship to be.

I just remindered that I have two disney scrub tops. One is of chip/dale, other mickey/minnie. I think these would be great for running around during the day. So comfortable, loose and shouldn't be as hot. So just put them with my June cruise group of clothing. Have a second set I put with the Sept group of clothing. Hopefully by Mar 08 they will be in good shape to wear then too.

Or may just have to see if Walmart has anymore, buy them and start a Mar 08 group of clothing in closet LOL.

They also have winnie pooh, bambi ones but I stuck with chip/dale/mickey/minnie. ummm i think a trip to walmart is called for LOL.

I love Chip and Dale.
I am surprized that WDW doesn't have more clothing with them on it. Mostly just in kids stuff.
I had a shirt I made with iron on transfers with Chip and Dale but the ink bled in it too.
I really need to see if I can find other special ink, maybe at staples or some store like them. I love taking a white short and making it a disney shirt. i get so many compliments and people wanting to know where they can get one.
I had one with Goofy in a tux and Donald surfing. They were great.

I did one iron on sorta lime green but more apple green with a small DIS logo over right shoulder/breat.

I just did another iron on with large Mickey Icon with DIS lettering, my user name and real name on a lime green tshirt.

Also just did iron on with the June cruise name/design/logo on lime green tshirt.

I have a red and navy tshirt that I haven't decided what i want on them. I want something generic so can wear to the parks and on cruises. So thinking just simple Walt Disney World with then a graphic.

I only do simple graphic/designs, nothing even remotely close to what the ppl do on the creative design thread for like door signs. I insest a picture, type some wording and boom I have what I need. I am no way talented or have th software to do what beautiful designs the do over on that thread. Although I love what they do.

I normally am not one that likes wearing tshirts. I prefer polo tops. On the Jan cruise I ironed on a polo top a small cruise logo/design over left shoulder/breast.

I have lots of polo tops that I may end up doing something similiar for the parks and/or cruise.

I do plan on wearing the tshirt with cruise design and DIS to board in June. Also have design for Sept but haven't ironed that one on yet.

Will probably make one for Mar 08 too.

Also got little lime green shirts for Pal Mickey and Minnie. Well two for each. One has a simple mickey icon with DIS lettering for the parks. One has a generic cruise (DCL logo, picture of Mickey/Goofy on ship (cartoon style), and the mickey icon with DIS lettering under that. That way I won't need to make a specific cruise shirt for them for each cruise. they can wear the generic DCL lime green shirt, and I can make mine more cruise specific.

Now to figure out what to put on the red and navy tshirts that is generic enough for parks and cruise. <G>

My door signs are super simple too. I ususally just put stickers that are tropical and disney themed and sometimes a few words like,

Have you ever done any scrapbooking??
I always do a photo album and add a few other papers and confetti I grab at events and write a trip report to go with it.
So I am thinking about trying to do an actual scrap book this time. I have seen a few examples on line and they look so nice!!
I think I can do it with a little research. But I would love some advice from someone who has done it.
I have 2 scrapbooking stores near by and wal mart sells some supplies, plus I have found several sites on line with pretty good prices.

Boy the clouds are moving in pretty fast today, although it is still warm out.
I have to check my mail and bring in the garbage can.

LOL I think I responded to this thru email as thought it was sent via email and not on here LOL.

but as I said my door signs, name badges, tshirt iron ons etc.. are very simple. It's fun even though they are basic simple using word document and drawing features. I don't have any special software but what i use works for me.

Nope never done scrapbooking. Have heard about a lot of ppl that do and see the stuff to do it at Michael's.

Let me know what you learn and find out. I have NO creative talent so for me would have to be SIMPLE, and ideas with instructions LOL.

today its very warm here. we had some clouds early but they went away quickly. temp around my place got around 80 or so.

This pollen though is kicking me in the ...... I am taking meds daily and still having effects from the pollen grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I am heading to Tampa on Friday to check out the new minivan I plan to purchase (conversion minivan). Already have loan approved but of course I want to see and check it out before any signatures on a dotted line. Still will take about another week or two though before I actually finalize and receive as they have to install transfer seat and a lock down system for the power chair. WOO HOO. Seems like forever trying to get this van and power chair but should have both within a couple weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So June cruise I will get to use my new power chair that actually will roll over the thresholds. So no getting stuck out on deck 4 this time LOL.

I love the Van, Dodge makes a good product. I'm sure it will work great for you. Now you will need a car seat for Mickey and Minnie so they can join you . They will want to ride up front with you, not sit on the scooter where they usually ride.

I have this car seat cover that I use on my travel power and/or scooter. So will get anothe one/s for the van as it matches the other accessories. Mickey and Gang accessories. Umm since they not weigh enough for their safety in front seat (air bags) they will probably have to ride in the back seat in safety belts <G>

I love that seat cover. I wanted to buy it myself but my car isnt a bucket seat. I have an 05 Impala with a bench seat. The seat is like 2/3 driver and 1/3 passenger on the seats.
My husband recently got a Hyundai Sonata and the first thing out of his mouth was, you know I could get the disney seat covers, floor mats and steering wheel cover for my car:woohoo:
Thats what he thinks!! I said NO way!! Since I cant have the seat cover , neither can you;)
He didnt buy it, guess he knew he was in dangerous territory messing with me on that subject!!:lmao:

My sterring wheel cover had Mickey, Goofy and Donald on it. I am going to get the floor mats soon, just been so busy trying to get situated in this house. Only been here about a year and I am trying to decorate each room some. So much work!! Fun, but lots of work.

I bought all my accessories at a different site than link i gave you. i look at both sites to see which has what and price. so if want another site to review let me know.

it's very warm here today at least for me. I woke up around 4a and of course couldn't go back to sleep. So thought ok since its not warm yet get up go get things done etc...

So I was at Walmart by 6a, then Staples, then Kmart. Then back home. Then to have car washed and detailed so can get quote tomorrow on it from CarMax. Then to get my mail. My speedo aqua fitness belt arrived. I really believe I will be able to snorkel at CC this time using this belt. If go in snorkel area of course get like yellow thingie they have out, but I would still use this belt. If go to adult beach then of course will need belt. So am excited to at least try to get down to water, out far enough to do some snorkeling in June. Will see at least I can try.

I am so tired now I want to take a nap <G>.

Oh bought some things for Pal and Minnie. I need to get their things better organized. each has their own pilot size suitcase that holds their clothes, accessories etc....

But I have so many plans coming up trying to get prepared, organized etc... my brains is going ever direction.

Have a kids suitcase with Mickey on it I use to carry their things when staying on WDW property, or traveling (not for the cruises though).

Then have clear plastic backpacks to keep their clothes organized in their suitcases. Well let's just say its not that way right now LOL. I keep just throwing things in both.

Today found a clear plastic backpack (had some toys in it that i can give to one of our group homes) that I can carry outfit changes with me at the parks. ya know sometimes they demand changing their outfits during the day at the parks esp if park hopping LOL. but with this clear bag it will hold a couple outfits for both in one bag. WOO HOO.

So need to get the mickey suitcase packed for trip down to POP May 18-20. Include this new clear backpack to carry at the parks.

Then start figuring out for the June cruise, then Sept cruise etc...

I really am usually so organized and really want to just go ahead and pack for May WDW weekend, June cruise and Sept cruise. But of course some outfits will be needed at each event. And then where do I put their things for each event now? LOL.

at least May is only three days and nights of outfits needed. June is 3 nights and sorta 4 days although day we board that is automatic what they wear, generic DCL lime green tshirts.

Ok why am I rambling here on the May 08 cruise thread? Geesh who knows.

All I know is that I am very tired and feel so unorganized for the upcoming events. Unorganized in getting the van, power chair, cooling vest, home modificationis etc... as I have no control over any of this. I have to wait for VR to do their thing, and then let me know what I need to do. WOW this process is stressful and feels so out of control, not knowing how, when etc... and only being able to wait. Did i mention I have no patience? When I want something or need something I want/need it NOW!!!!!!

Marsha, hope you are rested up today. I had crazy dreams and didnt really get enough rest, but that is just the way it goes. I have had many tips about the scrapbooking we dicussed and I think it is going to be alot of fun and not too hard to do. Just have to give thought to each page before I do it. Rearrange it a few times before glueing things in place.

I got some basic paper on close out at wal mart really cheap so I can practice with it. I dont mind making mistakes on cheap paper.;)

ran around most of today doing errands and of course am exhausted.

But part of the exhaustion too is excitement about friends coming to WDW in May. So I get three days at POP with friends. Then cruise in June which this morning a friend called so say she is GOING!!!!!!! WOO HOO. Excited yet stressful trying to coordinate selling my car, receiving power chair, purchasing the van, along with work schedule, etc....

Although I am exhausted again, I am also running on adrenaline from excitment with so many good things that will be happening in the next week and weeks to come.

Good morning. I am out running more errands today. Later today or tonight I have to switch things from one car to another. I had taken everything out of my personal car, put it company business car so could get my career cleaned and detailed. I wanted it looking as good as possible for appraisal.

Now have to get all my stuff out of company car, then pack tonight to leave in morning for work. So won't be on computer tomorrow until evening. Plan is to return home on Thursday, however, if power chair rep says can deliver chair on Thurs then I will come home on Wed. Really hope that can happen on Thursday. Sell my car on Friday. Plus van place can come get the chair on Friday. If and BIG IF all this happens like this, then I definitely would have the van by May4th WOO HOO.

Ok gotta get out the door for more of those errands. hoping to get done and back home before heats up to much today.

I went out this morning to run more errands. i forgot to bring in battery to travel chair last night to charge so soon after in first store, realized battery was low.

So that sorta put a hault on all the errands I needed to do today. Did go to Walmart to pick up a few items, but walked, which wore me out quickly.

I came on back home and decided the other errands could wait until next weekend.

I am going to spend rest of the day resting. Then switching things out in cars, packing for traveling, and loading the car tonight. Then in the morning I am not worn out just carrying things from door to car. Just get up shower, dress, grab laptop and hit the road.

I won't switch out the cars or load the car until tonight once cools off again.

It is already very warm and I got so hot just being out the few minutes this morning. So this afternoon, rest time, and hopefully will remember to watch cam of the Wonder leaving out.

I survived the dog sitting but I am pooped!!
I am heading for a nice hot bath anf then off to bed by 9 p.m.

Minnie chowed down a whole bowl of food and is already zonked out for the night.

Tomarrow I will need to do a good vacuum job due to the extra dog hair. Greg was so nice and he swept and mopped the kitchen and entryway floors that were covered with paw prints and hair!!!

I will check back tomarrow, I do remember you said you wont be near your computer until evening , so I will bump us up in the morning.

Someday we will find another person to have fun with!! I know we dont have the ship to ourselves?? But that could be fun too!!

i have slept all afternoon and woke up at 10p because someone called me. thought would check the boards before trying to go back to sleep.

just hope i can sleep the rest of tonight as i have to drive about 4 or so hours in the morning for work.

i plan to return home Thursday, but I am hoping the power chair rep will say he can deliver the chair Thursday, friday at the latest. On fri or saturday i plan to go sell my car/SUV. I will use my company car until I get the van, which hopefully will be by May 4th or the following week at the latest.

Going to be busy week with work between traveling, conducting staff training, selling the van, and praying the chair is delivered. Of course my whole plan for getting the van when I hope is stemming that the chair will be delivered next week.

Spoke a lot this weekend with friend that is going with me on the June 3 night cruise. Plus another Diser and her daugther going on same cruise we have linked for dinner. It's so exciting chatting with the other diser as its their first Disney cruise. It's close to like reliving my excitement for my first cruise. So her excitement is just adding to my excitement.

Think I have figured out way to snorkel at adult beach on CC, and carry crutches with me out into water. tie to cheap ring floats together, the tie crutches on top of the floats. plus have long rope/string to hold on to floats yet still be able to use my arms to swim. so this june will be a test run on snorkeling. I will be wearing a flotation belt though to assure i stay afloat, or if fall i am able to get back up.

So you have your Carnival cruise soon and my june cruise is sooner LOL. just about a week apart from each other. would have been funny if both cruising at same times, and just happen to dock at same dock same day LOL. of course yours is 7 days and mine is 3 days.

When i get back then you leave, I will be dreaming about how great the 3 night was and how my 7 night in Sept will be.

Actuall I never leanred due to a scary experience as a kid. Now I am so afraid I just cant seem to relax enough to really give it a try.

just got home not long ago. came back day early since they are delivering my new power chair in the morning HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course will have to take pics to share LOL.

I get to play with it this weekend at home and around house (won't have way to transport it until get van). Then van company will come get it Monday to install lock down system. They will bring the van and chair back to me Friday May 4th HOORAY (of course if all goes as scheduled <G>)

have a weekend in May at POP with friends. so been and need to continue working on what Pal and Minn will be taking to wear at the parks. Funny I focus more on what they will wear then I do for me. I just put on top and capri's/shorts and go LOL.

Also started a cruise bag for June. I am taking Minn only and my friend going will bring her Pal. Since three nights figured ok for us to bring one and not both bring both. So things I think or for sure want to June cruise related to Minn go into the bag. Found the Dora the Explorer clothes fit Minn great. So have been buying out every outfit i can find LOL.

So working on Pal and Minn's suitcase for May WDW weekend which I believe is just about complete. And throwing things into a beach bag for June cruise for Minn. I need to work on coming up with a Pirate outfit for Minn. Pal has a nice one but he will wear it in Sept, so I don't want her wearing it for June. Of course Pal will wear the same one each cruise as he did last cruise <G>

I am hot and tired. I pulled something in shoulder/back this morning picking up travel power chair and putting it in SUV. So thinking once I get everything out of the car, will go lay on a heating pad. grrrrr

So excited yet nervous to finally receive and see the power chair. I know its a blessing and will offer me much more freedom with less effort/energy. Yet also like having to take that next step in accepting this yucky disease <G>

I stayed in today and worked on minnie's scrapbook. I have so much to learn, so I am experimenting with stuff . It is fun to do.
Tomarrow I will be home all day too because we have a bed for the guest room being delivered in the afternoon.

I had a awesome surprize today.
When I was born my folks didnt have much money so they only took 3 or 4 pictures of me until I was about 3 years old. My mom didnt know what happened to the old photos of me, she did have some of my older brothers.
So I have gone my whole life wondering what I looked like as a baby.

Today my brother e-mailed me some photos for the scrapbook i am making for my mom from all of us kids.

One photos was my dad squating down holding me at about age 3 or 4 months, and one brother on each side of me. I was so excited I cried on and off for an hour. I know it probably sounds crazy to people but it is just something I always wanted to know and always felt I had missed my whole life.
Of course I was a very cute baby:rolleyes1 Just like I thought.;) I even had a little hair on my head:goodvibes

years ago i put together a photo album of me from baby thru high school. being the baby of family and only girl my parents have many pics of me as a baby. after school started most pics are those taken at school.

even more years ago i put together a three generation photo album: grandmother, mother and me. i was so much fun finding those old black and white photos of my grandmother and mother. i gave it to my mother for a present but now don't remember if it was for mothers day, christmas or birthday. ummmm I am visiting my mother in July to celebrate her 77th birthday so will try to remember asking her about this album. wonder if she even still has it as I know i did in the late 80's.

i will take picture of the new chair and email to you tomorrow.

Clouds seem to be rolling in but still pretty hot out. 86 by my thermometer.

I just watch a show on the travel network about the Wilderness Lodge at WDW.
I have spent the night there before. It is so beautiful there. It was an old show though because it show the Diamond Horseshoe Revue at MK. That hasnt been there for quite some time. I loved that show. The singing sheriff is John Charles and he is sometimes on the ships performing. I have seen him on 2 cruises now. He is very good.

I am selling my SUV in the morning which means I can't transport my scooter.
Leaving me with only the travel power chair until I get the van. So I can't do the parks this weekend but was thinking of going to DTD for some shopping.

I am playing around with the power chair in the apartment, also trying to figure out best way to carry the kids, a backpack, etc.....

I should have the van on May 4th but until VR can get a safer ramp up for me, I won't be able to take the chair out and about. But can use the scooter with the van or travel chair.

I want to sell the scooter once I get everything in place using chair and van. My two room apartment looks like a Mobility Medical store with a scooter, power chair, two wheeled walkers, two sets of crutches, and travel chair LOL.

I go in the morning to sell SUV so that will be one less stress and one for sure closed issue. HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Would love to meet up with you at Epcot over weekend but not sure the travel chair would work. But let me know if go and I will see if or what i can manage. I know it will do ok at DTD as it's flat smooth service, and distance between the stores aren't that far.

ok i am exhausted and burning up. I have to get the travel chair in/out of car 6 times today in this heat grrrrrrrrrr. Plus already pulled something in shoulder on Wed putting it in the car. My body feels banged up and like mack truck hit it LOL.

I think it was way too hot this afternoon, my thermometer said 86 but for most of the day there was NO breeze so it felt worse! The Humidity is coming and I can feel it. I hate the summers here:mad:

Well enough complaining, I did get my washing all done and the ironing. I even managed to go out and get prescriptions refilled too. I was pooped tonight, I had another night where I woke up at 3 a.m., so I pulled out individual size mini pizzas for the guys. They are so small they eat 2 or 3 each. I add extra cheese and onions and pepperoni, so they are edible.

They dont like many frozen pizzas. I spoiled them when I owned a pizza place by making really good fresh pizza for them.

Looks like it may rain tonight, we could sure use it.

good morning kathy. i am selling my SUV to CarMax which I had it appraised last weekend. Yesterday called them to find out the balance owed between what they appraised and balance of the loan. So went to get cashier's check for that balance yesterday.

Today just have to take SUV up there, cashier check, regristration, keys to SUV, and my DL. Then sign some papers and boom I no longer own a SUV.

Hopefully and praying that this time week I own the new conversion van (company keeps telling me they will deliver it May4th. hope they are correct).

I may end down to DTD to shop some. If go to parks enjoy, style hydrated and cool as possible. I need to get to one of those everything a dollar. need to stock up on shower caps <G> will be used to cover control unit on power chair in rain, around pools, or water. Cheap but will do the trick.

Ok talk later. Still seems just you and me on this cruise. But I realize it's way far away, so maybe others will join esp once we get into 2008.

Well we went to the flea market this morning. I have been wanting to go for several weeks now, but Greg doesnt like them, so never asked him to go. But he agreed today so I could look for a few items. He lovedit, they are totally different here than in Oregon. It was all I could do to get him out of there!!

I was so glad he enjoyed himself, but now too late and tired to go to WDW, perhaps tomarrow?? We'll see .

I really liked it too, Of course I have always like flea markets.

I bought a tapestry for our room to go on the wall over the bed. it is in browns and golds of 3 cowboys standing by a fence, but only show from knee down to show off old boots. It is nicer than it sounds and fits the early west theme of the room. Plus got a framed picture of a cowboy driving a covered wagon being attacked by an indian. very pretty!!!

Then I got 2 painting and frames for the tropical room I am decorating. Instead of all the brightly colored paintings these are charcoal greys and blacks. They look great against the bright yellow walls. I needed something to off set the bright colors in there.

We picked up some fresh fruits too.
My best find was lacy type doilies to go under the lamps on our nightstands and a runner to go across the top of the dresser and a small rectangle one to go on the other dresser. They are tan and will look great against the dark wood. i didnt want white since it would be too much of a contrast.

I was a great day, it was so hard to resist all the puppies for sale too!! But once I saw the price it was much easier to resist:lmao: They were thoroughbreds and many hundreds of dollars!!! Minnie would throw a fit anyway.

That was my day, I am pooped!!!

I will see how hot it is going to be, may try tomarrow for Epcot!!

well today I will be going to the bank to put in paycheck then I need to empty out our dressers and night stand so we can move them to the other bedroom tonight, so new stuff can be delivered tomarrow.:banana:

I am going to open up our 2 largest suitcases to start with and fill with clothing. Plus I have one big box, so that should do it, I hope. I don't have a lot of clothes but i do have alot of paprs and such in my dresser.

Hi Marsha,
Well I got my dressers all emptied, some errands run and called my brother in Oregon to visit for awhile.
Then Peter showed me a new place to shop. I have lived here for a year an never knew that just 10 miles away there was a Russell Stover candy distribution center and they have a discount candy store there !!!

There were free samples as soon as you entered. it was like a warehouse with cases of chocolates everywhere!!!
One side had al new chocolates at great dicounts compared to the stores.
The middle was rejects that had defects in their appearance so they couldnt be sold in the stores. the last side was holiday stuff that had be greatly discounted.
Giant solid chocolate bunnies for $2.00 Huge Valentine heart boxes for $3.
The entire back wall was sugar free, low carb and weight watchers. Plus theses apeciality candies were throughout the isles.
It was all Whitmans and Russell Stover candies.

People were buying cases of chocolates. I saw types of chocolates there that I havnt seen in the stores which really surprized me.
I got a whole big bag of individual sugar free candies for Greg for $4.

Good thing I cant eat chocolates or I would of spent a fortune and had cases of chocolates all over the house:lmao:

That was a fun trip. I can't wait to take the grandkids there when they come to visit.

Tomarrow the new furniture comes,so I will be home all day until they come.
Then I want to get some place matts to protect the new table.

I did make 2 more pages of my scrapbook of Minnie today. They were much better than the first couple of pages I did. I am learning quite a bit already, just by trying to do things. It really is fun.:banana:

i put some things on craigslist and someone responded. said would meet me at storage and never showed up. grrrrrrrrrrrrr i even waited almost 45 min thinking they got caught in traffic, lost etc... tried calling her cell phone and got recording this number isn't in service at this time. grrrrrr if by chance i hear from her and she still interested, she will call me when she gets to storage facility then I will leave my house to do there. but am hoping to sell lots of stuff out of storage as I don't need most of it anymore.

ok email me as soon as you can when furniture arrives. I will be waiting here from 10a-2p for Bellsouth. Ya know in this day of technology I don't see why they have to give you such a long waiting period, making you sit at home waiting. for them to show up late still or call to say not going to make it and reschedule. Call me 30 mins when on your way and I will meet you there. this having to wait around for 4 hours not knowing when they show or if show is ridiculous imo.

I have to wait for a call in the morning to give me a 4 hour window for delivery, so i will be playing the waiting game too!!

All the furniture is moved out to the guest room and the old table has been moved into the living room for now. Nothing in there yet, so it will work for storage until we can get rid of it.

Yes, my furniture arrived around 2 P.M.
We have an adjustable bed so you can just put the head and foot boards on with the railings like a normal bed.
Greg will use special brackets and fix them himself this weekend. Then I will take pictures to show you. In fact I took photos of the dressers and night stand already but wont post until I have the bed too.
One night stand didnt have the legs, so they had to order them and will be 2 or 3 weeks. So one is sitting on the floor but that's ok, they are fixing it and it is usable until then. They just screw in the bottom of the night stand.

I need to get place mats or a table cloth to protect the table now. Will do that first thing tomarrow morning.

I am happy your problem got fixed so quickly!!
Now if they would just get your van ready you'd be all set.

well Greg got the bed together. But it needs a little adjusting since it is an adjustable bed it rubs just a little bit when you raise the head up. It will be a quick adjustment but wont get to it until this weekend.

I will try and take a photo after I return from grocery shopping and post this afternoon.

Is it really smokey at your place?? It is nasty here. Hope they can contain those fires soon!!

But hey for now since it's just you and me, I figure we can post about anything, cruise related or not.

I went out this morningn to clean out my company car so can go have it detailed. But I got so hot I don't have the energy now to go get it detailed. So will have to wait until Monday.

Once I get it detailed Monday morning, then have to go renew the tags. My plan then is to leave it at our office and have someone there drive me home.

Then its out of my way at home, no longer my responsibility etc...

Then my landlord and I can rearrange how we have been parking so I can use the ramp, and getting in/out of the van with the room needed on solid ground.

Was going to do all this today but now seriously doubt I will leave the house until around 5p. I am meeting the people that are buying my dinette set and few other items for them to pick things up in their truck.

Looking more like a good day to go into bedroom where there is a window AC unit, lay in bed, and not move. My sitting room only has a ceiling fan and oscalating fan, so gets hot easily. The window unit was suppose to be able to cool off sitting room but just doesn't make it. So any movement no matter how small I do in sitting room I quickly am overheated.

I can't believe how hot I got this morning way before noon grrrrrr

I really need to get to the store for some groceries but right now I don't want to move an inch <G>

ok we will reach that 5000 post mark even if only a few are cruise related LOL.

well I got my errands to the pharmacy and bank done early. I thought oh good, now no need to go out in the heat. But just discovered I am out of stamps:mad: I have 2 mothers day cards to mail out. Both go to Oregon so can take 5 or 6 days to arrive.
I think I will wait until monday to go to the post office to get them. That would still give them 6 days to get there. Mom's do understand if things are late right:confused: I hope so. We always call on Mothers day anyway.

Just too darn hot to go out if I dont have to!! Even the dog is staying in today accept to run to the little girls bush:lmao:

It would help if there was a good breeze out.
I use our ceiling fans all the time. That was the first thing we bought when we moved here was a ceiling fan for our bedroom and the family room where we spend all our time. We are very lucky we have central air, but try to leave it set up on a high number so not to have a $400 cooling bill each month!!
We try to stay at 75 to 78 in the house. It is set up automatic to not cool the upstairs during the day, only the downstairs, then at night it cools the upstairs where we sleep and not the downstairs because nobody is down there. That really helps to keep the bill down.
I would rather have that money to spend on a disney cruise!!!:woohoo:

I knew it was HOT out there.

yeah it was like 92 here today. and boy did i feel it. It get so frustrated at how the heat effects me, just one minute outside and I am wiped out.

I did sell some things out of storage and the people picked things up this afternoon. HOORAY. Now to sell a couch, coffee table, scooter, walker, dishes/cookware etc... If can then I won't have much left to store. May still need a small storage unit as I really have no room in my two room apartment to store anything else. It's already cluttered and I don't handle clutter very well. It actually makes me anxious and can interfere with me relaxing or sleeping to have rooms look and feel cluttered.

The contractor is coming Mon to see what needs to be done, discuss what is going to be done etc..... Then on Wed or Thur will begin putting in the sidewalk, extend landing at front door, off set hinges on doors inside, wall protectors.

He ordered the ramp and suppose to arrive May 14th. Then he will install that that day depending on when arrives or at least next day or two. HOORAY!!!!

Hopefully in about two weeks I will actually have all the home mods done including the RAMP!!!!!!

Should receive my van next week but until I get it at least i have the loaner.

I have about two and half weeks before my weekend getaway at POP and WDW with friends HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then about month after that weekend, a 3 night cruise with a friend.

I am trying to look forward to the fun things but sometimes hard when dealing with physical/medical issues in this heat.

But this too shall pass. and hey i have something fun planned for the next three months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Marsha,
just got back from the mall and michaels. Got all but 2 things which is really good. I was trying to hurry because it was getting hot and traffic was getting bad.

I got curtains for all the downstairs windows that go together, finally!! I little at a time I am getting my place together. I would go faster but it costs money to buy things, so have to budget for it.

Plus got some storage boxes for scrapbooking supplies. i really need to get organized to do this, so I spent my own spending money that took me forever to save, but it felt good to find something I wanted.
I got some decorative cut scissors and a couple of punches too.
I found some vines to decorate the tropical room .

My car was full and my wallet was empty so time to come home;)
Now I have a headache from the rushing around and the heat.
So i will rest for awhile before putting away my stuff.

I love the new outfits. Minnie will be very classy in her new clothes on board.
I can understand why Mickey are getting jealous. He will have his turn soon.

Cool you found almost everything. Organized is a good thing, and can imagine if doing scrapbooking would really need way so to keep things organized and easy access.

Since i got back from storage unit all I have done is sit in the recliner or lay in the bed, not moving. just that little project this morning did me in for the day.

There is a severe thunderstorm in Marion county so wondering if it will head this way. We sure could use the rain, not storms or lightning though. that could spark more wild fires.

well they say thunderstorms later this afternoon, guess they could be very windy and nasty this time. But most seem like they are going to miss us here. I hope it dumps lots of rain.

Got to get a couple of groceries, but that's about it for today. Greg may hang the curtains today since we dont have any plans anyway.

I will be watching the wonder pull out tonight. Pretty quick we wont be seeing the Magic for a while since it is almost time to start their special cruises for the summer.

Well we didn't get anything last night from the thunderstorm that was near by. a few sprinkles but not enough to even wet my door landing.

Maybe today we will get some rain as sure do need it.

I went to Vineland outlet mall where the Disney Character Premiere store is and bought a vintage deco Mickey sofa pillow. Also bought a St Patty's Figment pin for 4 bucks WOO HOO.

Bought the WDW black backpack with pic of Mick and gang, and says WDW for over half off regular price. Will be great to hang on back of power chair to carry things.

I am home now for the day. Just too hot to get back out. So will rest, nap, watch tv, etc.... and ready for work in the morning.

I want to go get my company car detailed cleaned tomorrow, renew the tags and turn it in, leaving it at our Florida office. Then I no longer am responsible or have to find ways to park here at home, and still be able to use ramp on loaner van.

Contractor is coming in morning around 10a to discuss putting in sidewalk, extending door landing, offset hinges, wall protectors. Then should start the work Wed and/or Thurs. When he puts in sidewalk I can't use my front door for 24 hours. Thankfully my landlord has said I can come in/out thru her part of house. But just think a sidewalk!!!!!!!!!!! No more walking thru yard of sand, dirt, soft ground, grassy, stumps, etc... WOO HOO.

Ok maybe it's nap time LOL.

I went to get bread and milk this morning but then I have been in all day.
i printed off a lot of vacation photos for the album today. We got anew printer and I have new ink cartridges for the old one to use up before we trash it. it does work, but makes horrible high pitched squeals. Ink is so expensive that I want to use up the old stuff before changing over because of course the new printer uses a different cartridge than the old one did.

Greg and Peter went shopping today while I relaxed. Greg needed a laptop for work, the ones they provide are crapy ones so he wanted his own. Anyway they went to look at those and printers plus to get my curtain rods.

After 4 hours they returned with the laptop, printer, programs he needed and of course they forgot the curtain rods;)
He did go back out right away and got them but he is tired so I told him to not hang them tonight, ait til next weekend. It's no big deal.
His feet hurt him if he stands for hours like he did today. Diabetics seem to have alot of foot problems like that. At least his circulation is still good!!


well I am going to relax and maybe talk Greg into putting in a movie this evening.

I stayed home today and worked on Minnie's album. I am learning a lot about scrapbooking from doing it. I am about to start an album from our last 3 day cruise. That one will take me awhile because I have over 100 pictures to work with:rolleyes1 it is good practice.

My youngest daughter sent me a Captain jack Sparrow mosiac jigsaw puzzle and a strawberry candle for mothers day. I love doing puzzles. I have a card table I use just for that. I just do a few pieces at a time.

It was really bad here this morning and early afternoon. when i left the office late afternoon I could smell the smoke but couldn't see it as much. but boy this morning it was like the fire was across the street because of how much smoke you could see.

Oh now, I hope she watches those ashes to assure they are still able to catch something else on fire. that's a major problem it seems with the winds we are having, blowing ambers then that starting another fire.

way cool on the puzzle esp being Capt Jack. I use to love doing puzzle's too but now no place to set a table or spread out to do a puzzle. plus picking up the little pieces is even difficult.

they started laying out the sidewalk today. suppose to have all home mods done this week. Ramp is now arriving Thurs this week HOORAY!!!!! Which means should be installed by Friday.

Van company comes to get power chair Monday and return by Thurs if not Wed with my NEW van. Instead of me having to go there now for positioning of lock down system he is going to drive over my van, and do that at my apartment. Thankfully means no trip to Tampa for me.

Power chair rep I rescheduled to come Mon May 21st as felt would be best to have everything in place including my van. Since the headrest brushes against top of door going in/out on ramp, I want rep to see this with my van, not loaner. That way can better resolve, which is probably just lowering headrest maybe a half inch to inch.

So things are coming together but i will be glad when all is done. Amazing how stressful this process has been, waiting, wondering when, etc....

When I got home from office (All day mtg grrrr) I laid down thinking will just rest but fell asleep. So slept almost three hours. Hope I sleep tonight. I have 8a conference call, then one at 9a and 10a. Personal appt at 11a, then I go pick up my cooling vest. WOO HOO.

Thursday I have to stay around apartment until they deliver the ramp. And who knows what time that will be. Of course can't give me any idea what time they will arrive. Oh well will work from home. Thought first would sleep little late but then thought I have get laundry done and be there at 7a when they open. one to beat crowd, two to assure i am home by around 8:00a then wait for ramp to be delivered.

Not sure why I am so tired tonight. All I did was sit in a meeting where we talked about our Florida programs all day. Sometimes sitting in a meeting can be as tiring as running around I guess.

Can't wait til Friday as meeting another Diser at Cape May for dinner then head over to Epcot. Then May 18th, two nights at POP, and three days at WDW with group of friends WOO HOO. Then a month before June cruise. WOW.

My Minn and Pal are packed for the POP/WDW weekend. Minn is partially packed for the cruise. Not in a suitcase but I keep throwing things into a beach bag that need to take for her, and of course few things for me. Minn will definitely need the larger suitcase, and I get the small one LOL.

it certainly sounds like things are coming together at last. 2 weeks from now you wll be able to go out and zip all over the place, just in time for your Pop vacation. I hope the cooling vest works well for you. That will be such a blessing in this state. I know I see people in the parks with the small ones you can buy to go around your neck for minor relief.

The smoke seems to be alittle better this morning but still there.

I hope it rains later today like they predict so it clears it out some.

Not doing anything special today. I do need to go out this morning to get a few fresh items at the store, then i should be in for the day.
I have a card table that I set up in the other room for puzzles. I just do a piece now and then when I do them. I use to have a puzzle going at all times until we moved to this house a year ago, then just havnt seemd to have the time to do them. But I will work on this one.

My mom does them too but she buys ones with extra large pieces so it is easier for her to handle . Plus my oldest brother helps her to do them.

Howdy, wellI got my shopping done before lunch. YEAH!!!

I found 2 tropical looking lamps for the tropical bedroom and 2 more pictures to put on the wall. Lamps were $15 each including the shade which is cheap compared to what I have seen in various stores.

I also went to the dollar store where I found 2 more garden figures for my flower beds. regular $5 but was on clearance for $3.50

Then I made peant butter cookies.
Now I am done for the day, or at least until time to fix dinner.

Minnie is sound asleep, maybe I will follow her example and clos emy eyes for a few minutes.

I had appt/mtg this morning. Then went to pick up my cooling vest. Sure am hoping it will help keep my core body temp down so I don't overheat. Definitely not going to be making a fashion statement though LOL. Imagine wearing a khaki bullet proof vest <G>

They completed the sidewalk this morning HOORAY!!!!!!

Ramp should arrive tomorrow so hopefully contractors will have that installed, landing extended completed by tomorrow afternoon or Friday.

The smoke in the air this morning was horrible here. The smell was even worse. Makes you wish wearing a mask. It's better now so guess the wind turned direction and blown it out of this area.

Did you hear we have a tropical storm Andrea? in MAY????????????? But unfort they are saying we won't get much if any of the rain due to track it's taking. But if we are starting with tropical storms even before the official hurricane seasons start makes a little concern of what this season will be.

Then add my cruise in Sept???????????????? I know though DCL will go opposite of a hurricane, or if can't do that will cancel that cruise. Just hoping neither happens, and even more no hurricane/s.

I am exhausted so think will go lay down a bit.

the smoke here last night was horrible and burning my eyes. this morning it's there but doesn't seem as bad. just hoping these fires get put out and we get some rain. just no rain the weekend of May 18-20th <G>

I plans for today is to sit here waiting for UPS to deliver the ramp HOORAY!!!!

The contractor called this morning to say he would be here around 8:30a in morning to install ramp, extend door landing and put off set hinges on inside doors. double HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This means I can use my power chair for going to dinner at Cape May friday night with another solo DISer. Then head over to Epcot. I will park at Epcot although by the time I get there so late in afternoon, good chance no HC slots will be left. If not then I will have to take up two regular spots to assure I can get in/out of van using ramp.

The kids are dressed in their Dis Lime Green shirts. Pal has on white shorts with Mickey Face icon on them. Minn has on pink skirt with a lime green/pink/white ribbon as a belt. Bow matches belt. They both have worn these outfits to the parks but thought would be easier for person I am meeting at Cape May to spot me with them in DIS clothing.

So I got the power chair ready last night hanging plush disney character key chains on back of chair (its like a bar there if someone needed to push the chair). Mesh backpack hanging on back of chair with a DIS card hanging from it. Haven't decided if the kids will ride in my lap with seat belt over them too, or in backseat (bicycle basket that I attached to headrest, and bar behind chair). But they are ready to go and well so am I.

I really need something fun, and a Disney fix. Something to help with reducing some stress.

Who knows when UPS will get here, they tell you day but can't tell you when they will arrive. So guess I have to sit here and wait. I did leave for few minutes to get some food but left note on door where to leave boxes, and if needed signature I would be back in few minutes.

I need to go get my mail but yet don't want to leave until ramp arrives. I just have gut feeling they would come while gone and not leave it because no one here to give a signature. I know the contractor didn't request signature yet with the size and cost of this shipment, my feeling is UPS is going to want the signature for their own records.

Stay inside as much as possible as none of us need to be out breathing in this smoke from the wildfires.

A couple days ago i had to wait for UPS too. my medical supplies come UPS once a month. usualy he doesnt come until 6 p.m. or later but I know If I went somewhere early he would come.

Not this weekend, but the next weekend I hope to go to Epcot for a concert, I think it is The Grass roots. I have to double check that. I just remeber it was someone I wanted to see.

I hope to watch the Wonder pull out tonight, hope roads dont get closed near the port or people will have a hard time getting there. That happened to us last year once they closed roads due to smoke and our hour trip turned out to be 3 1/2 hours. Barely got there by 2:45 p.m. Greg dashed to the buffet for lunch and I dashed to the dis meet at 3:00 I barely made it.

Yeah I agree should be fun meeting other DISers as there will actually be three of us, two coming out of town as solos. We hooked up on the DIS solo thread.

Pal and Minn are ready to go. I rec'd a round fabric basket today that hooks to arm of chair. I need to get something to put around arm of chair though to pad against the straps and bar holding bag on. For now I pinned a Mickey hand towel around it until can get something. Wondering if one of those pads you put on seatbelt shoulder strap would work? Something to consider.

UPS showed up already HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So the ramp is here and contractor will be here early in morning to install. double HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

As soon as UPS left I went to get my mail and package which was the chair bag that extends in front of arm, round about size of basketball. Has top zipper to close bag, but I put beach towel in it so Pal and Minn are sitting higher and can see better. <G>

The smoke here has gotten worse this afternoon. Looks so gray outside and smell isn't good at all.

I will be at WDW next weekend. This weekend of course already mentioned dinner Friday night and Epcot. Saturday I want to attend a support group mtg for local ppl with same neuro problems I have.

May 18th I am taking a vacation day to meet friends coming into town. Will meet them at POP bright and early. I will check in but of course won't get room assignment until later in afternoon. So for Fri, Sat and Sun will be at WDW parks. HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So right hope roads don't get closed to port. They closed part of the Turnpike yesterday due to fire and smoke.

I have to remember to watch the Wonder this afternoon too.

Hi Marsha,
Ya, we will probably miss each other this time, but with us you never know. If we decide to go sunday for the concert we will go to another park during the day, then to Epcot a couple hours before the concert. I will make a note of which park you will be in on saturday and sunday, just in case we happen to go early to a different park that weekend.

Mostly depends on how tired Greg is. His diabetes makes him more tired than he use to get. He is out in the heat about 1/2 the time which is hard sometimes.

You will be easy to spot in your chair with Mick and Minn with ya.

We got about 1 minutes worth of sprinkles today. that was all.

I did see the ship pull out tonight. It looked cloudy and probably smokey smelling.

well as usual the dirty dishes seem to be waiting for my attention. Sometiumes I think I should change to all paper plates and glasses and plastic silverware, but as soon as I look and see how expensive they are I change my mind.

Oh I hate those nights awaking and not able to get back to sleep. makes for a LONG day after one would normally get up.

they putting in ramp now. Little nervous though as its taking them longer. Contractor is use to portions of ramp being delivered already together. Nope not this time. every single piece is a piece that has to be put together. they haven't started landing yet.

I asked him before started if should get power chair out before they start as i need to leave around 3p. he said would be done and would be no problem.

but...................... its noon, the ramp isn't completed and haven't started on landing. I know even if get ramp up, good chance i won't be able to open door to get chair out unless they have completed the extended landing.

fingers crossed in three hours both ramp and landing is done.

The smoke isn't bad here right now. hope stays that way.

Minnie HATES a bath.
She knows now to just go up the ramp and into the tub to get it over with but she does not like it one bit!!!
She even hates sprinklers. If we are walking down the sidewalk and some ones sprinkler is water their lawn so will dart out into the road until we get past that yard. So I have to hole her tight and force her to stay on the sidewalk. Of course if it hits the sidewalk I do move aside so we dotn get wet.

She is mad at me right now because I locked her doggie door so she couldnt go into the back yard. The lawn guy is treating the lawn and shewants to go out and see what is going on. When they do that I have to keep her in for 30 minutes for it to dry but i keep her in for an hour. She doesnt like that.

For now she is napping next to me on the couch while i eat. Hopefully she wont wake up until it is ok to go outside.

If we go to AK on sunday I will give you a call . We wont know until sunday gets here.

I will keep my fingers crossed they get done in time for your 3 p.m. time. if not i would just tell him that since you asked early about the time and he said no problem that he should take your chair out for you if he is not done yet. i think that would be fair.

I went out for a few groceries this morning but was so tired I couldnt wait to get home to relax.

well i saw the Magic pull out tonight. I hope they have calm seas and a great journey!!

Our smoke is much better but it is so HOT outside I could hardly believe it when I stepped out to get the mail about 4 p.m. I looked and my thermometer said 87 degrees.

I think tomarrow we will go to the farmers market to get some fruit and then to see the new Spiderman movie. Then I will call my mom and Greg will call his mom and in between both my daughters will probably call.

Rachel will call for sure but Marie doesnt have long distance on her phone, so if she remebers to buy a phone card she will call, if not she will e-mail and she did send a card. Then i will see if Randy remembers mothers day. Last year was the first time he remembered on his own. I almost fainted when he called:rotfl2:
Of course Peter is here so I know I will see him.

HAPPY MOTHER"S day.

the day went well. got some shopping done at wal-mart. met someone to buy coffee table, HOORAY!!!!, then to Walgreens, then to support group mtg. the mtg went well.

I got home around 4p and totally wiped out. just got up from falling asleep. but am still so tired, like every ounce of energy has been drained.

i used the chair last night and today. Loved it. WOW I didn't take one person or display out. close doing so but didn't LOL.

Even today I was able to carry a case of bottled water into apartment, sat it on lap, and drove chair into house. have lots to learn using the chair, but i will get there.

one thing if space, can't think correct word, but its like i can't identify distance between my feet or footplate (sometimes I have to raise footplate in certain areas, like going up ramp to van, get into house). I have rammed my foot, twisted rammed it and surprised haven't bruised or injured my foot.

Also i hit things with footplate cause i will pull to close and able to identify correctly amount of space is there and I have. i guess this too will take time learning.

Last night's dinner was great. The other Diser by the way is also named Cathy (with a C). It was like we have known each other for years. We didn't leave dinner until 8p (ressie was at 5:40p). We were both shocked at the time and how it had gone so fast just from eating and chatting. We went to Epcot in time to see Davy Jones last performance for the night. He had a great show.

I have to get up and go to laundry by 7a in morning grrrr. But if I don't get it done in the morning not sure when I will or can esp during week.

Am meeting Cathy at AK to spend much of the day.

Will try out cooling vest tomorrow too and see how that works or if does work, and for how long.

Hey Kathy
We had a good time today at AK. It was hot for sure. The cooling vest really did help for about three hours, maybe a little longer. I took the spare thermapaks in a soft cooler with those blue ice paks in hopes to keep them frozen. I changed the therma-paks right before the 4p parade. Some of the thermapaks in soft cooler was still semi frozen. The ones I wore in front really didn't do much, the ones I wore on back still though provided some coolness. The neck thermapak really did nothing even when first arrived. The sleeve it goes into then around neck, seems too thick, and this thermapak didn't freeze. It was cold and soft I guess so can go around neck. Right before the parade though it was still cold as I had it in soft cooler, so put it over my ankles. That felt good. My ankles/feet swelled up so badly as usual. WHich of course makes the neuropathy pain - burning sensation worse. So my feet felt like were burning although really weren't of course. But my ankles/feet were warm/hot enough that the neck therma pak was warm and no coolness left with a few minutes. It was like my ankles/feet just drew out the cool quickly from the heat radiating from ankles/feet.

I felt good about how I did using the power chair this weekend. Although I ran into things, jammed my feet between the chair and a wall/door or something, at least didn't run anyone over LOL. Surprised I didn't break a toe or bone in foot as I really jammed hard today coming out of the companion bathroom. Yet again the neuropathy was already a problem so its not like I felt how hard I hit until few mintues later. I got ice and put into my disney crocs while wearing them which felt so good on my feet LOL.

Weird how brain signals and messages get mixed up when have neuropathy. Feel something that isn't there, or don't feel something at first but then few minutes later its can be so painful.

Anyway, great time today at AK. It was fun to experience the parade today with Cathy as it was her first time to ever see it. On the safari we saw so many animals. Also saw the tigers and gorillas. Just for some reason had good timing that allowed us to see the animals out and about.

Hi Marsha,
well it sounds like your trial run of the cooling vest went pretty good. I think in the extreme summer heat it would be almost impossible for it to work 100% relief. I am very happy for you that it did help.

greg has problems with his feet hurting and swelling in the heat due to hi diabetes. We are going to get him fitted for special diabetic shoes soon and that should help him some too.

Sorry to hear you smashed your feet a couple of times, but I'm, sure practice will help and soon you will be an expert!!!!

well I had a good mothers day.

we went to the flea market, which I wanted to do. Then we were going to see spiderman movie which I wanted to see. When my grandkids come to visit next month I have to know what happens so we can talk about the moive. grandma has to keep up on such things is I am to be a COOL granny:rotfl2:

Well it didnt go quite as planned.

We went to the flea market and did browse around. I love to play with the puppies there. They only sell pure bred animals so I know they will all get sold and have a good home. I am so soft hearted I can't stand for animals to be put down or abused. that is why our dog is a recued dog, she had been very abused and it has taken all year to help her become a good, loving happy dog.

well I was petting a lab puppy and found out it was a mix. it belonged to the mans neighbor and they didnt want the dogs, they wanted pure bred puppies and soem how another dog got to the mommy first.
Anyway this pup is 11 weeks and had been there for 3 weeks but nobody wanted her because she wasnt a pure bed lab.
Today they were taking her to be put down.

I was so upset!!! I wish they hadnt told me!!! it ruined my entire morning. I know that sounds crazy, but I am just an old softie.
So we went to buy fruit and I couldnt hold the tears any longer. So I handed Greg money for fruit and said I need to pull myself together, meet me by the paintings in 10 minutes and i will show you which ones I was thinking about getting.

So I regained my composure and was waiting and looking at paintings.
I was about to go and look for them when around the corner came greg and Peter. Peter was carrying the puppy and he said Happy Mothers day mom!!!
So i now have saved a second dog from death. I was so happy!!

Anyway, now to get minnies approval. They get along great!!! Minnie is very playful and of course puppies are very playful so it has worked great so far!!

We just feed them in separate places so NO fighting over food, which is common with dogs. They are wearing each other out, which is so nice for me.
We are just making sure that Minnie still gets tons of attention like before so she doesnt becone jealous.

Now I have to potty train her. She is a little young to train but we are trying yo get the idea across slowly by taking her out often and praising her if she goes!! Minnie was going in and out her doggie doors and the pup tried to do it too. she was scared but after about 4 hours she was using the doors too.
That was a great surprize and will help with training her.

I think I will name her sweet pea.

I had to go to Tampa yesterday to pick up my new VAN!!!! and my chair. They installed the lock down system. Finally I have the van, chair, ramp, sidewalk, extended landing, cooling vest.

Now contractor needs to return to put up door protectors. He came other day but what he was putting up i didn't like and said no. So he is "investigating" something else.

Also will be scheduled for driver eval at some point to determine if need hand controls. I know I do but not necessarily all the time. For sure though then the neuropathy and swelling in feet is active. As my feet burn/hurt so bad, and hard to really feel what touching. Other than that I seem to do ok driving with feet.

at least I have the MY van, and the chair. So ready to roll !!!!!

I head to WDW-POP tomorrow morning thru Sunday night. I won't have computer access after tonight until Sunday night.

Hope you are doing well, and just loving the new pup. Of course Minnie is getting along with new baby in the house.

we are doing good though. She did sleep through the night and NO accidents in her bed and only one on the tile by the doggie door after returning from the vet yesterday. i take her out every 30 minutes or as soon as she wakes up from her nap. she already is getting the idea of where she is suppose to go . She watched Minnie use the doggie doors the first day and learned to use them in just 3 o 4 hours. so she must be fairly smart.

well they both will be awake soon. I will keep us bumped up over the weekend. I know sometimes there will be somebody else going with us.

going to relax with a up of tea for a few minutes before they wake up.

just doing my morning bump today.
Things are going pretty well here today.
No weekend plans due to puppy training, which is going pretty well .

I hope to get a little scrapbooking done this weekend too. Greg will be here to help me watch the doggies. Since we cruise 6/30 I have to keep at the training really hard so maybe both dogs can just use doggie door while we are gone.
Our adult son Peter will be here but he has to work, so wont be here all the time. I dont want to have to lock them out while he is at work. I may have to just block off the livingroom area and then it would be all tile,s o no real problem while we are gone for peter in case she doesnt go out. I have baby gates to keep dogs in livingroom and kitchen and short hallway areas only until training is complete.

Had a great weekend. the cooling vest worked well when the therma paks were frozen (first day about 3 hours). Although I had a refrig in room, no freezer. I took a cooler with ice blue paks, and ice, hoping that would freeze the paks or at least keep them cold enough to work. Well that didn't work out that well. I have ordered another type of paks that suppose to regenerate in ice water in about 20 mins. Of course that means about 2 or so hours having to stop, get some ice and water to soak them. But I figured at WDW that would be ok. Cause after about 2 or so hours will be time to find a cool place to sit, and relax. Giving time to regenerate the paks. Will see how those work once I receive them.

Found out though that a HC at POP Century isn't very HC friendly. The walk in shower was great. however, the door just to get into the room was so heavy it was hard for me alone to open. On top of that when you open the door the kingsize bed is right there which means difficult to hold door open, turn between bed and door to get in or out. I did bang up my foot the first day. grrrrr

The other issue I had was only rooms with walk in showers have king size beds. I let them know how it felt that they assume a HC person requires only a king size bed. Like if going with a friend, or even a care giver that doesn't mean you both will sleep in same bed. So they gave me a standard room that adjoined to HC room that had double beds. So ended up with two rooms, a bed for my friend and a bed for me. (They didn't charge me for standard room).

And to move around the room in an electric/power chair wasn't easy due to way room was set up.

I am finding it more and more amazing how little places will do to meet ADA compliance. Not just WDW although I have found the parks do very well for accessibility.

I went to Centra Care yesterday due to my ankles/feet so swollen, and the abrasion looked like was getting infected. They didn't have a bathroom that I could use. They had a bathroom that was suppose to be HC accessible meaning it had a grab bar beside the toilet. and maybe a manual wheelchair could have gotten in, but im not sure. I know I couldn't get my chair in, and know no other power/electric chair could get in. So i sat there for 3 hours needing to go potty and they had no bathroom I could use. Although they had two HC parking spaces neither were for vans. I am thankful that when I came out no one was parked in HC space beside me, cause if had I wouldn't been able to get into my van with my chair using the ramp.

Even today I went to see my primary which is in a large medical professional building. Their public bathrooms have a HC stall but its not large enough to get any type of chair in there. So had to pull up to door. Hold on to door, grab bar, etc.... leaving chair outside the door.

Parking were and other places I have gone lately has or can be difficult to finid a space one can park using a van with ramp. And often the ones that are van accessible a car is parked there, and the other HC spots can't be used with a van/ramp. I understand ppl find a HC spot and park, and don't even think when signs says HC Van accessible that maybe they should park in another HC spot so in case a van needs that space. I am guilty of parking in such a spot as it was the only HC spot available and didn't consider if someone in van needed it. So I seem to think more about HC parking and HC bathrooms esp with having the chair.

ok back to weekend, it was great. my friend from MD surprised us on Friday with a lunch at the Brown Derby with an Imagineer. WOW. I didn't even know they did this (Mon, Wed and Fri). So we had a wonderful lunch in a private room, limited number of ppl, (there were 7 ppl and one imagineer). The imagineer shared what he did, about different imagineers and what they do, and we got to ask questions. Great time and I hope to do that again someday.

We celebrated my friends birthday all weekend which was lots of fun.

Since I got home Sunday early evening all I have wanted to do is sleep LOL.

good morning Marsha,
it sounds like you had a good time. also it seems it was a good trial run to work out the bugs of using the vest. Perhaps next time you could ask at the hotel is the kitchen area could freeze your stuff for you if you explain it is for medical purposes??? I know that wouldnt help once in the parks, but for over night to have them frozen good to start the next day with, it may help until the others arrive.

I would think perhaps in the parks you could ask at the first aid station if they could freeze your paks if they have a freezer or if they could make arrangments for a restaurant in the park to freeze them while you ate.
It usually takes an hour to eat and those big industrial freezers can freeze things solid in that amount of time.

It couldnt hurt to ask, although I dont know if you could get through the door at the first aid stations? As I recall they are quite small.

Sorry to hear you had so much trouble with door ways not fitting your chair.I have to admit I wouldnt of thought that your chair couldnt go through because they do have larger doors on the HC bathrooms.

It may not do any good, but I would wirte WDW and tell them about this and I would write to which ever office is in charge of over seeing that people meet these requirements and explain what happened and what they need to do to correct it. I'm sure your not the only person to have this problem and they need to be told.

well puppy is now named Pixie by vote of the grandkids. i told them 3 names to vote on.
Potty training is coming along very well. I still have to take her out all the time to remind her to go. But she is just 3 months today, so she is doing quite well. Minnie still plays with her all day accept when they stop to nap, like now. They are both asleep after a busy couple of hours of playing.

I have laundry washing as I type. it is a never ending battle:sad2:

Well Pixie and i have survived the vet appointment this morning. it was interesting. I had them clip her nails which was world war 3:lmao: It took 3 of us to hold her down to get it done.
Then she got her revenge on the ladies there. I wont get to detailed but they cleaned out her anal glands because puppies often dont push out everything when they "GO" You get my drift??:goodvibes
They take a wippee and put over her behind and squeeze her and catch stuff in the wippee. Well we all 3 heard a loud noise and it shot across onto a newly painted wall, into a sink and all over the tray of syringes laying there in a tray.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Plus she filled the wippee.
She now holds the record ofr the longest SHOT OF POO!!!!:woohoo:

Then they cleaned out her ears which of course she didnt like to well then came the shots which she didnt mind at all. She goes back in 3 weeks for another round of shots.

Maybe Greg should take her for that one?;)

anyway we made it home and she started playing with minnie and allw as well again. She gained 3 1/2 pounds in a week. He said in 3 weeks she should be 15 pounds heavier!! I cant carry her in then so got to get her use to the leash at least to get into the vets office.

Minnie is no problem, she is trained and we just go and do what ever needs to be done. She is 66 pounds so there is no way I can carry her!!

Tomarrow I go back to have more blood drawn for routine work and get my prescriptions refilled. I have an infection around my feeding tube so they put me on antibitics so I dont feel great right now. They always make me off for a few days.

So now with both dogs and me having shots and meds this week we are all a little grumpy. Greg may go out the door as soon as he gets home tonight. Ha Ha

He wont really because I have a pot roast cooking for tonight. I thought Peter and Catherine were going to be here but they are going to a special showing of POC 3 tonight so they want to eat out and get in line early to get a good seat. They already bought the tickets.

So we will be having roast for 2 nights.

Time to relax, both dogs are asleep for a few minute so I can relax and hopefully get rid of my headache.

watch that infection. the scrape i got this weekend trying to get into the hotel room started to look like it was getting infected. i had it checked out, got antibotic, and putting antibotic cream on it still. finally it is looking better.

swelling finally has gone down some in legs/ankles/feet with help of lasix.

I go next tuesday to see neuro in St Petersburg that made the initial diagnosis of SCA. I haven't seen him in a year, so my primary and both want to get his opinion of how things are progressing, if still believes its SCA etc...

Saw primary yesterday and he was surprised how much i have progressed since last time saw him. we discussed autonomic neuropathy which now appears i am having along with the sensorimotor polyneuropathy.

My local neuro is good, I like him but i have him more to assure i have a neuro nearby if needed. I see him about every 6 months. Actually had appt today but cancelled since seeing St Petes neuro next week. The St pete neuro is part of the MDA clinic, my local neuro is a private office practice. Don't get me wrong my local is good, will do anything he can for me, but has less experience with SCA or MSA. He has lots of experience with Parkinsons, MS, and other more known neuro diseseases.

Hi marsha,
well it took all day to make it on line it seems.
I had early 7:30 doctor appointment and it took for ever!! Tech who draws the blood had bad hiccups and couldnt draw blood because she jerked so bad. Took her 20 minutes to get rid of them. I did feel badly for her but I was hungry and wanted to get home!! Has to fast today for blood work.

Then Dr. for got to write out new RX's for me and check out girl got called away for a few so 20 minute appt took almost 2 hours. I was so hungry I was getting ill, plus the anitbiotics always make me feel ill.

Then of course puppy needed to go out when I got home before I could get food in me,s o wont get my daily quota today but that just happens sometimes. I should only be 12 oz short so that's ok.

Infection is starting to improve but it always takes about a week for meds to kick in and work.

Sounds like you have some appointments to get out of the way too. Hope they go well for you.

Good morning Marsha,

Hope your having a good day. we are going to concentrate on yard work today. greg will be doing it, not me due to my infection but i will supervise and bring ice water put to him.

I hope to make some cookies today for him. A reward for all his hard work.

We are keeping our fingers crossed this week. Greg works for a builder and times are hard for them right now so thursday they are going to lay off a lot of people in Florida. We are hoping not to get laid off and our son also works for them, hopefully they both will have a job on Friday!!


Then if things dont improve by end of summer they will probably merge all the areas in the state to 2 larger areas and lay off tons more people and at that point I know our son wouldnt have a job and Greg will probably be laid off too.

If that happens we will have to cancel our November cruise because he couldnt get the time off work if he had a job or if he wa slaid off he would need to be here to look for work. So it doesnt look good.

If sales improve by end of summer we will be safe unless he gets laid off next week.

with unemployment and our savings we wont have a problem for quite awhile but we are planning for the worst. dont want to use up our retirement savings.

greg is a licensed builder so he could probably keep busy with remodeling and such until times get better ont he builders market but tha tis har don him physically.

So keep your fingers crossed for us!!! I have been through this before, so nothing new to us, just need to tighten the belt until we know what is going to happen.

We are having anice weekend at home and catching up on house hold chores and take the dogs for a bath tomarrow. That will be an event!!

well best go while I feel good. Mornings are ok, just by afternoons I start feeling bad from the meds.

So sorry I haven't kept up here posting much last few days.

Seems I have been busy with something or another. Plus I started some new meds that really are doing a number on me grrrr. Body has to adjust to the affects but geesh this initial period of starting them makes me not want to take them at all. grrrr

I did some errands today. Beall's is having a great sale so of course I just had to go. I bought a couple pair of capri's, and tops to match. I like buying capri's/pants/tops that I can mix and match. I have one pair of capri's and one top to match in my hands at the register. Then I thought wait I don't have anything else to match this one pair of capri's or anything I could wear that one top with either. So I didn't buy them, just the ones I knew I can mix/match with what I was buying plus what I already have here at home.

I use Epass but when I transferred the transponder to my new van, the adhesive on velcro just keeps getting hot and then transponder slides down windshield. grrrr I called Epass who stated I could get a suction cup bracket at Publix, or Lowes. Ok so I go to Publix, nope they don't sell just the bracket, they sell only the package of Sunpass that comes with suction cup bracket. Ok so over to Lowes today too. Nope they don't sell the bracket either. Thankfully this woman, another customer, walked up while i was asking Lowes employee and she said she got her suction cup bracket at Pep Boys. So ok off to Pep boys. HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They sell just the bracket for Sunpass or Epass. Now hoping the suction cup bracket holds <G>

Monday I am heading to Clearwater/St Petes as I have an appt with my neuro on Tuesday morning. No way am I going to drive thru Orland and Tampa morning rush hour traffic to make it to st pete for a 10a appt.

So decided I would go over on Monday and stop at Busch Gardens. I have an annual pass for there and Sea World. Haven't been to Busch Gardens in over a year. I will stop there to check out things, see if anything is new, etc...

Stay there a few hours then head over to Clearwater and spend night at hotel (using points HOORAY!!!). Then will be only about 10 mins from my neuro's office and can get to appt easily Tuesday morning. Plus I will be going opposite of rush traffic. This is neuro that made initial dx and I haven't seen him in about one year. So my primary and I both agreed I need to see him again. He needs to see the progression, how rapid, and new issues. I think my primary as well as myself are wondering if he will change the diagnosis esp with such rapid progression and new symptoms. I guess doesn't matter diagnosis cause the one I have now, or the one PCP and I think could be changed to, neither have a cure, only can treat symptoms, and both really are so rare ppl just don't know that much about either. So even if he does change diagnosis won't change treatment, or progression.

I have to say though with the new chair, ramp, sidewalk, and van, I can get so much done in errands without being exhausted just walking out the door and to the van. What a blessing this chair and van is and has been so far.

No way could I have gotten done all I did today if was walking with crutches. I would have been drained just getting out the door to the van much less having walk thru Beall's, Lowes, Pep Boys and Walgreens. No way could I have done it without the chair/van. What a blessing these items already are to me.

ok enough of my rambling. I realize I probably should be emailing this info instead of posting in a cruise thread <G> but at least keeps the thread close to the top, and if anyone finally joins us, they will have good idea of who you and I are, what we like, do in daily life etc..... Or maybe they read it and think these two women are nuts LOL.

i didnt have the net all morning so I didnt post early like I usually do.
Ha d aquiet day today. Greg washed the cars and cleaned the pool filters. Now Greg, Peter and Catherine have gone out for pizza so no cooking tonight which is nice for me.


I just finished watching the Wonder pull out of port. The weather looked great for them. I love watching it pull out even though I have almost a year before getting on her again.
You must be getting really excited for your June cruise, it is almost here. Next week it will be June already!!

I have a bunch of cards to get in the mail on tuesday. June 4 is my brothers anniversary, the 6th is grandaughters 16 birthday, june 8 is my daughters birthday. Everything all at once!! At least I was smart and have my birthday towards the end of the month;)

We watched the movie De Ja Vue today with Denzel Washington, it was pretty good. If you get the chance to see it, do it. It is for rent now.

Well I need to take Pixie out to GO!! So I'd better sign off for now.
I know you have a busy week with doctors and such so I wont worry if I dont hear from you much. I will try and keep us bumped up.

well it is the last day of the 3 day weekend.

today i need to do some grocery shopping but that is about it. I may make some cookies this afternoon. Not sure what kind yet.

my oldest son randy went to gatorland yesterday for the first time since he moved ehre 2 years ago. I havnt talked to him yet, but I hope he liked it. He likes reptiles so he should of had a good time.

Not much else to report right now.
Are you making a door sign for your next cruise?? i always make a simple one with stickers each time we go. Nothing fancy, just kind of cute to decorate with.

Hi Marsha,
well I turned on the BBQ, came inside to start the potatoes. Then went back outside to throw the steaks in the grill and it was cold.:eek:
I ran out of propane.
So I grabbed out the forman grill and used it but I cooked them more done than they usually like them. They were good and tender so all was well, but I dont like to cook them in there, they were tasting BBQ.

Oh well, as long as it tasted good, which they say it did:thumbsup2
At least once we get the new propane we will be secure to know I can use it all summer without worrying about running out of propane.
Grandkids will be here in a month and we will be using it a lot.

well off to load the dishwasher and get ready for bed.

Well the dogs were out ont he patio racing around early this morning and Minnie's head hit my knee on the full run!! OUCH!!!!
It didnt phase her but it hyperextended my knee so I had pain from my hip to my toes:sad2:

So today I will try to stay off of it as much as I can. No swelling , just pain.
I took a couple of migraine stength excedrin which is helping some.
It's going to be a long day today:rolleyes1

Oh well, if the dogs co-operate I may get some scrapbooking done today. Luckily I got all the :laundy: done yesterday.

Hi I am back home finally. Sounds like you have been busy!!!!!

Doc appt went about as well as I could expect. Since I haven't seen this neuro in a year, he and his nurse were rather shocked to see how far I have progressed just in this last year.

Nothing he can do but treat symptoms and my primary does a good job maintaining my scripts (primary is local) and neuro is in St Pete. Neuro felt the meds PCP has prescribed are fine, and agreed with them all.

Neuro did say when I needed any papers completed like for disability that he would complete anything I needed. Didn't really give me much hope but I already know that day will come. When I don't know but I will continue as long as possible working.

I was shocked as the neuro got up to leave the room, he bent down and gave me a hug. He has never ever hugged me so sorta I think his way of saying I am here for you, I have compassion for you, and I feel bad that I can't do something to make you better.

I am exhausted, swollen legs/ankles/feet so going to get some rest.

Glad your back home to relax some.
I had a bad reaction to antibiotics last night so was really sick. Today is much better, just a headache and kind of tired, so will just take it easy today.

Dogs are sleeping so I can relax some now. they do entertain themselves very well, just need to take them out to the bathroom and feed them.


Going to be HOT again today. but I will stay inside and stay cool. hope you will be able to do the same .

I am on a couple new meds that my body hasn't adjusted to yet and they seem to send me for a loop <G>

I hope to assist this weekend at Nathinal Hope Make n Smile. It's an event for kids with special needs at Lake Eola. You can be a buddy where you are matched up with a kid and their family, go around with them a few hours to see exhibits, booths, fun things etc..... Or can be a volunteer to do whatever is needed. I registered to be a buddy. Of course now the news is saying 50 percent chance of rain on Saturday. grrrrr. If it does rain I know they have the event anyway, just not sure how I can manage it while keepingn the chair protected from the rain. I so hope I can be a buddy and help a kid and their family have some fun.

It feels today should be thursday or friday, i guess cause Monday was a holiday. I went to Busch Gardens on Monday, had a good time. Saw neuro in St Petes on Tuesday. And today overslept thanks to these new meds, and then been working on some projects/tasks needed with job.

Staying inside for most part and working from home. I did step out a minute and wow hot out there.

Placed an ad in newspaper to run on Sunday and next week in hopes of selling my scooter.

The chair is working out great and I am getting more and more used to operating it. Getting a little more confidence each time I go and about using the chair.

ok back to work for now.

well my knee is better but i have soem virus or soemthing now. I have been having chills, fever, and very achy muscles. So I am laying down as much as possible today. I havnt had a virus in years. Hope I dont get another one for many more years!!
Better now than the end of June when we have a cruise to do.

Your cruise is getting so close too!!! I'm sure your kids are all excited and packed to go!!! I think they have more clothes than I do!! Hope you take lots of pictures to share while your cruising.

yes our June cruise is just around the corner.

I went to a outdoor sports store today and bought a hat, shirt, pants (that you can zip off legs to have shorts) all with 50spf protection. shirt is long sleeve white. I can use all these items for the cruise while on the beach, going to parks, or anytime going to be outside.

I have so much to get done for work in creating review tools. I have only completed two and have about 15 more to still do by end of tomorrow. So guess i better get back to work now and into the night.

been a rough week emotionally for me after seeing my primary last week and my neuro this week. neither give much hope of improvement and are amazed at how fast things are progressing. i think hearing and seeing them knocked some denial out but of course i prefer staying in the denial <G>

Both think i should start to consider going on disability but im just not ready for that. for me it would like giving up another part of me, and i have and am already losing parts of me that I am still trying to accept.

ok sorry for the downer. i want the rain this weekend but praying it holds off on saturday until after 3p <G>

Hey I think being in denial can be good for some people. i have always believed your mind can do marvelous things for your health that doctors and scientists cant explain.
I have 3 people that I know who stayed in denial with their illnesses. One lived over 30 years beyond her time according to the doctors, my FIL lived 5 years beyond what he was told, my dad was 3 years longer and I have 2 friends with MS who were told 5 years ago they would be in a wheel cahir within 6 months and would never walk again. Both are stubborn and said NO way!!
It has been 5years for both and both still walk and get around very well. They of course do have some problems but one still works and travels and raises her kids, the other doesnt work but rides a bike, hikes, camps and rides 4 wheelers. Their doctors cant believe it.

So NEVER give up and if being in denial helps with that, then more power to you!!! Yours is so different it could actually do into remission instead of getting worse at anytime. Only God knows for sure.


I say keep working as long as you want to!! Phoey on what others say about it. it's your life, if you want to work and can do it, then go for it!!

well we have had a couple of quick showers but nothing to really count so far. I am hoping for down pours tonight. Then clear for your fun events tomarrow.

I am feeling better tonight but I can still feel it, so will take it easy for a few more days. I hope nobody else gets it too.

I am going to take a hot bath to relax and then get ready to watch the POC movie on TV tonight. I know I wont stay up for the enitre show but will watch a few minutes of it. I own the movie so no loss by not watching it all on TV.

well the special event for this weekend has been postponed thanks to tropical storm barry. I am sad yet grateful that I don't have to get my chair out in the rain, or not even be able to go due to rain.

It will be rescheduled so I can be a "Buddy" at that time. It's a great event for kids with special needs, i.e. medical, physical, etc..... So I look forward to finding out the new date and hope I am able to participate by being a "buddy" to a special kid and his/her family.

so guess i will read, sleep, rest etc... this weekend as I have no desire to get out if it's raining.

well I thought I was doing better but last evening about 8 my stomach got upset and then the chills hit really bad. Took an hour before I could even get up the stairs to bed.
I was shaking so hard I couldnt even brush my teeth, so just crawled into bed fully clothed accept for shoes.

I was so sick all night. Greg even got up to help me some because I couldnt manage on my own too well.
Anyway this morning I do feel better, just a headache and am very tired from almost no sleep last night.
I am doing NOTHING accept laying around all weekend. Only getting up to go to the little girls room.
Since Greg is home he will do everything so I can get complete rest.

Minnie actually stayed by my side the entire night. She curled up next to me in bed and refused to leave. Everytime I would move even an inch she raised her head and looked at me as if to say , are you ok mom??
Guess she sensed I was ill. She didnt leave my side all morning accept to go to the bathroom too.

well time to put the computer down and rest more. I use a laptop so it is easy to get online and still be laying down or kicking back relaxing.

Hope you have fun at the mall, which ever day you go.
I was so happy to hear your friend will be going on 2 of your cruises with you and you got the Fl. rates!!! AWESOME!!!

I feel good today but will take it easy still, for a couple of days.

I am going to ride along with Greg to go to Petco and he will bathe the dogs.

Yeah our cruise and yours is close now. Hard to believe its so close now. Then once off this one in June just short time before the 7 night one in Sept.

I made it to church today but just a different church then I normally go to. I arrived at the church I have been going to, got frustrated over nothing really so I left as soon as I got in. So decided to check out another church and went there. I liked the service so will probably visit there again.

Rest of my day is to rest as well.

well greg bathed the dogs today so they smell much better and he did a grocery shopping for me, mostly fresh stuff. When I feel stronger I will do a good size shopping. Not for a couple of days though.
I am still weak and dont want to catch anything else.

Hope your day went well. Mine was pretty good but since I was kjust sitting around to relax I couldnt find anything to watch on TV, so I played some DVD's.
I watched Toy Story, Over the Hedge, Monsters Ink and The Pacifier.

well two weeks from thurs i will be sailing for 3 nights WOO HOO.

I added my friend luvalldisney to my Sept 07 cruise today double WOO HOO.

When talking with DCL today he stated the 4 night cruises are all booked for the summer. Fortunately the 3 nights must not be or the Fl rates wouldn't have come out for this June cruise. Now crossing fingers they come out for the Sept cruise.

I want to hear about your carnival cruise esp in comparassion to DCL.

Hi Marsha,
I would say I'm 90%. I feel good until I do something then I am exhausted, so I am trying not to do anything.
But that is almost impossible, I did have to iron some clothes today and that pooped me out but it needed to be done.

Pretty quiet day today around here.
Yes I do plan on camparisson of both ships!!

well glad I reminded you of your RX. I got to the store but didnt make the pharmacy. I will go there today sometime. They have a drive through so I dont have to get out of the car. Very nice when it gets hot out.


I am thinking about our cruise. I am going to make a door sign, but not sure just what to do because it isnt Disney and so no characters to put on the signs which is usually the base of my signs.

Maybe just something tropical or beach themed will do. Any ideas??

I am going to just relax as much as I can today.

well i ordered the meds but i too didn't get to pharmacy to pick it up. i use walgreens and it has drive thru too. so i order online and drive thru window to pick up. no getting out of car. what a life LOL.

Umm pic for door? Name of ship cruising on, maybe a pic of that ship, map of where going, of course the beach setting would work too, or make it more a collage of several different type pics with either name of ship or pic of ship in middle of collage.

well it's going to be another HOT day today. I have a couple of quick errands to do this morning before it gets hot.
This is the first time the new pup will be without adult supervision since we got her. It will just be a few minutes, but hope it will go well.

when we cruise they will be here for a few hours alone while peter is at work so I have to start getting her use to it a little at a time. Having Minnie here should help some.

we got quite a bit if rain last night thankfully. but I don't think enough to get us out of the drought.

But it's that time of year, afternoon thunder showers, so maybe will begin getting some rain to help out each day.

Two weeks from today and an hour from now i will in the terminal at DCL getting ready to board the Wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait. geesh two more weeks. But next week I am out of town Mon - Fri. Week of cruise am out of town Mon- Wed. Then Wed night heading over to hotel in port area. Stay there overnight, then head to terminal by 10a Thurs.

And only a few more months before Sept cruise.!!!!!!

Hi Marsha,
we didnt get any rain last night. It poured all aounrd us, but none here.

Well the house survived 45 minutes of the dogs being alone. Puppy was curled up on the couch and Minnie was outside when I returned. Nothing had been chewed up or tipped over so they must of behaved some.

We have 2 baby gates across the 2 short hallways that go to other parts of the house, so the dogs can be on the tiled kitchen and eating area where the doggie door is and the familyroom where we spend all our time.

We do have a large crate that we put Pixie in at night to sleep and when I have taken Minnie to the vet I put here in there, she is comfortable with it.

But I need her to be trained in the fenced in area because she cant spend 18 hours a day in the crate. If she slept in it, was out a couple hours, if that long, then put back in when Peter went to work until her got home 9 to 10 hours later. let our for about 4 hours then back in to sleep.
That wont work!! she needs to play, go out to the bathroom and have food and water.
So we just fenced off one area of the house and figure we shampoo the carpet and furniture often, right now once a week,even with NO accidents.
when we are crusing this is where the dogs will be while Peter is at work.

I went upstairs for something for about 5 minutes and when I came back down both dogs where laying side by side all sad looking until they saw me then they jumped all over me. I think they thought I left them again.

Tomarrow I will find something to do so i will leave them for about an hour in the morning. Pixie needs to learn it is ok and i will return.
Peter and Catherine have headed out for St. Augustine until Sunday, so the next few days are a good time to leave them for a little bit at a time.

Sounds like you will be ready for a vacation by the time it gets here!!
You are a very busy lady.
I will keep us bumped up the best I can until I go on my cruise.

Even though I know your gone all week I will keep posting.

It is almost 90 outside already, so glad I am done going out for the day.


keep as cool as you can. Have you tried your vest for just going on errands in this hot weather or for work when it is hot out?? I was hoping it would help you be more comfortable when you have to go out in this aweful heat.

Good morning Marsha,
well this morning I opened up a couple of windows to air out the doggie smell from my house, but as quickly as it is warming up I will have to close them soon.
Greg had an early meeting today so we were up by 5 which isnt much earleir than normal, but both dogs are already napping which usually doesnt happen until about 11 a.m.
No plans for the weekend here. I wanted to go to WDW to meet up with a friend from a past cruise but it wont be possible until the puppy get older.

She is doing great but just cant leave her for that many hours yet. Today I will try to go for an hour , maybe a little less to get her use to the idea of me leaving for a while. Minnie knows the routine but Pixie doesnt.

Hi Kathy
It's been one of those non stop days. Up at 6a to be at laundromat to wash clothes. Back home after that, then some work here at home. Then a 12p meeting, then a 2p meeting. Finally home around 5ish or maybe little before.

Just got back to house after going to park in parking lot so I could watch the Altantis. Beautiful site.

I am exhausted and want to sleep. But know if go now I will be awake by midnight and unable to get back to sleep. So going to try force to stay awake until much later.

I may meet a friend this weekend at one of the WDW parks for a few hours. Other than that no plans but rest.

I leave Monday morning for Ft Lauderdale and return home on Fri. Then following week in Daytona Mon-Wed. Wed night head to hotel near port and ready to be at terminal that Thurs morning for 3 nights on the Wonder WOO HOO.

My friend going with me lives in Ft Lauderdale so both of us thought easy to meet each other at hotel near port. Then up early Thurs and to the terminal to get started on a weekend sail <G>

That really helps the time to go by quickly. I will miss you while your gone all week, but I will do my best to keep us bumped up and when you get back it will be about time for me to go and you will be in charge of keeping us bumped up:thumbsup2

I saw the launch from my patio, it was great and it appeared just a few seconds after launch. We wernt sure if we could see it from here but it showed up great. At our last house we had a fantastic view of it!!

I wish it would of been after dark because it really looks great then, like a big orange and red fire ball.

well today will be some yard work and house repair, that is about it. Greg of course will be doing the yard work and I will do a few things inside the house. I have laundry to put away and shirts to iron today.:laundy:

just got home from spending afternoon at Epcot. Had a great time. Cooling vest I wore today worked great. I got another type, one that you can regenerate the therma cooling paks in ice water for about 20 minutes. Versus the other one the paks must be frozen in a freezer.

I was comfortable although i felt the burning sun on my bare legs and arm. Yet my core body temp wasn't rising and causing problems. So go thru in comfort.

Even went to First Aid and asked them to put ice in my collapsable cooler to regenerate the paks. It really did take only about 20 minutes and were ready to go again.

Plus this gave my friend time to sit and cool off too while we waited in there.

I am exhausted, and of course swollen feet/ankles/legs so going to spend nite laying in bed with feet/legs elevated, and where i have a window AC unit.

My sitting room only has ceiling and oscilating fan so isn't that cool.

On drive home I saw the most beautiful rainbow that was crossing I-4.

Hope you had a good day. I bet having Minnie is a good role model for Pixie in what to do and not do. Hoping that is helping in her training and less work for you.

Can you believe your Glory cruise is only 21 days away? Are you packing yet? preparing? organizing?

Hi Marsha,

I am so happy to hear your new cooling paks work great for you. Plus like you said it gave your friend time to cool off too.
we only got a few light sprinkles this evening for 5 minutes.

We have central air but also have installed ceiling fans in all the bedrooms and our familyroom where we spend all our time.

Yes the puppy has learned a lot from Minnie, including some funny habits Minnie has. For example Minnie always slides off the couch slowly and leaves her back legs on the couch and slowly drags them off as she stretches. So now instead of just jumping down off the couch, Pixie stretches her hind legs out and slwoly goes off. But she is so short she falls the last little bit.

But she has learned to use the doggie doors from her and how to sit and wait for treats. at first she jumped all over for a treat, but she learned that minnie just sat and waited for hers, so she started sitting too and found out she gets a treat quicker by doing that.

Minnie has learned some stuff from Pixie too. Since Minnie had been abused and never show any love she didnt know how to give affection like a dog does by licking you. She never licked us. she would cuddle and snuggle with us and the expression on her face told the story. Now she will lick us sometimes when she gets really excited, after seeing the puppy do it.

Both still get along great. we left them for one hour today and everything was ok when we got home.

we need to get them use to being alone for 3 to 4 hours while we are gone on our cruise. It is so hard to leave them. Minnie is ok because we have left her many times, but the puppy hasnt a clue what is going on when we leave them.

Morning Marsha,
well today I hope to watch the Wonder pull out on the web cams. It seems on Sundays I often seem to get busy and remember when it is too late, but I will try to remember.

Yesterday we spent a lot of time in the pool cooling off. That was our first this summer that we went in.
We worked at getting Pixie use to the water. She can swim great but she is so young that she doesnt have any stamina.

we want to train her where the steps are to get out, so if she ever falls in she can get out ok. If she didnt know about the steps she could get exhausted and drown before finding them to get out.

we do keep a child safety fence up at all times but accidents can happen, so we feel better knowing she will know how to get out if that ever happens.

Minnie hates the water and wont go anywhere near th epool, even if we are in it.

well I know your in for a busy week, dont work too hard, you need to stay feeling good for your cruise!!

Morning Marsha,
well today is suppose to be cooler, only 88 :goodvibes .

I guess this is conditioning for the tropical islands we will be visiting later this month on our cruises. The only time we cruise in the summer is when we take the grandkids and we go then because they are out of school.
We did take them the week before Christmas once which was really nice. we got back on 12/24 and they stayed to celebrate Christmas with us.

Hi Marsha,
I did have a good day today.
I mostly relaxed so my back would feel better and it does.
I made fish sticks and spicy curly fries for dinner. Not the most balanced meal but i didnt feel like bending and stretching for things right now.
I also talked to my girlfriend who lives in Oregon for about an hour. We grew up across the street from each other and were the only girls in the neighborhood,so we are like sisters. She has MS, but is doing pretty well, still getting aound on her own after being diagnosed 5 or 6 years ago.

we did get one short thunderstorm here today but just a quick sprinkle came with it.

I forgot to tell you i traded in my Impala and got a new truck. It is an 07 Silverado Max crew cab. I drive very little so not getting great mileage isnt a problem for me. I love trucks and havnt had one for awhile.
I will try and send you a photo on your e-mail later.

well thats about it for today. I am waiting for Thursday so I can watch the Wonder pull out again.:dance3:
