Found this on Allears:-

Disney's contract with L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante ends August 31, 2007. Disney is currently working on plans to develop a new Italian restaurant for World Showcase's Italy pavilion. No further details are yet available.

I spotted this on the Restaurants forum a few days ago, Florence. For years we avoided Alfredo's due to the dreadful reviews it attracts. Last January we decided to throw caution to the wind and give it a go. Wow, were those reviews right! :rotfl:

I'll be pleased to see a new restaurant take its place, but I'm also glad we found the time to try it out for ourselves before it goes.

A nice Italian themed Indian restaurant would be good :rotfl:

We did the same:lmao: It's a pity because it is a lovely restaurant. Always makes reminds me of the castle. It is such a lovely restaurant but the menu is very limited and usually the food is dreadful.

Hope that whatever takes its place is greatly improved.

We haven't liked it in the past but actually had a delicious lunch there this January. The info was up on Intercot first time I saw it about a week ago. Indian and Italian - not sure that goes together Tim! :rotfl2:

Yes, I was pleasantly surprised by its opulence. Like many Disney restaurants, though, it's spoilt by its cavernous nature - it's like an extremely upmarket canteen. Why do they do that? They could so easily divide the space into smaller, more intimate, sections.

Why do they do that?

The good ole Disney money making scheme in search of another $ I think:)

alfredo's was my very first on site meal, we were in epcot during a 1 week, off the hoof trip March 2003 and ducked into alfredos to get out of the rain - I must admit it was the most overpriced pasta I'd ever had :rotfl2: especially as we have a really good italian here, but the CM's were lovely and the atmosphere was great

We've always had great meals there but found it a bit too expensive so we stopped going. It'll be interesting to see what the new one is like.
