Does anyone know if you get the same mousekeeper for the majority of your stay? Do they work Monday to Friday and then weekend staff?
I'm just wondering if I should tip at the beginning of each day or at the end of our stay?
Also, how much do you tip? We're staying at the Coronado if that makes any difference.
OH :yay: And do you tip the golf cart guys who drive you around the resort?

(who still can't believe it's only 201 days til her trip!!!!):woohoo:

I'm not sure if the same mousekeepers clean for the whole week. We used to leave like a $20 tip at the end of our stay but after reading on how other ppl tip in cute little envelopes every day, we may start doing that as well. You may have the same mousekeeper for several days and she may do a great job and then you get a not so great one and she may get all the tips at the end of the week and not deserve them, so we're going to try the whole daily envelope thing and see how that works! Maybe we'll get the cute little towel animals more often! We have not stayed at the CSR so I'm not sure about the drivers but maybe a buck or 2 a ride? I'm not sure, sorry!

We make Envies out of just a 8 1/2 X 11 paper with the Mousekeeping on them .

Leave a tip each day as they do switch out during the week and do not share for the most part.

I think we left between $3 and $5 a day and asked if they would leave us extra soaps and shampoos. We gave all the extras to Madonna31 to give to the kids at the Hospital for Sick Kids for her campaign.
I found mousekeeping envelopes on the net from googling it and used those!

We left 3-5$ a day for the mousekeepers and did not tip the shuttle drivers.

My husband asks... is mousekeeper actually what they are called, or is this one of those weird DIS things? :rotfl:

We stayed at AKL for two nights and had 2 different mousekeepers so I'm guessing they switch off some days. I'd leave a tip every morning (2-5 dollars for the both of us, depending how messy we left the room).

They have never not taken the money left in the Mousekeeping Envies. But not really sure :confused3

I read somewhere on another site that the standard tipping practice is $1.00 per day for every person in your party.( ie. 4 people, $4.00 per day). Thing to remember about this is don't expect special perks like face cloth duckies and swans as you may be disappointed. You may get them, you may not. In the States I found that there's a lot more tipping expected. Here we tip for good service but there you just tip better for good service

Does anyone know how you can personalize your own little envelopes with pictures, etc? I'm not really a good WORD person besides the typing of papers but if anyone knows please let me know!

$1.00 per person per day sounds fair.
I'm not all that concerned that we get fancy creations with our linens, just so long as they're clean! lol
I agree with you on the tipping, the US does expect more. Not sure why that is.
Thanks for the help everyone!

I just print a few of these right on a regular peice of paper then fold it as needed.

Here's a link to where I have found a few.

Thank you so much, they are cute but not too over-done and wont take up much colored ink so I'll save that website in my favorites and plan on making those envelopes up for my mom and dad to put $ in for the mousekeepers!
