Forget NS and stop in NB. ;)
Where in NS are you hoping to go?

Hi Sandra:
I'm born and raised in Nova Scotia and heading back there for a vacation myself!
What kinds of things are you interested in? Camping, whale watching, old forts, mountain scenes????
There's a lot.

From surfing Expedia.ca, I can't find a hotel under $200!
I thought about flying from Pearson to Halifax and then renting an RV for a NS camping week....but I can't find too much info on that either.
We even looking into renting a cottage on the ocean, but that's at least $1000 a week and we only want 3 nights.
I'm not used to planning a non-Disney trip! heeheehee.
HELP! Thanks! Sandra

We have rented a cottage cheaper than that. I like your idea about renting an RV. That way you can spend time around Halifax/Dartmouth, up to Cape Breton or even down along the south shore.
Make sure you go to the Nova Scotia tourism website and order their Doers and Dreamers guide. It has lots of great info.
You could also google for Nova Scotia and RV rentals... and see what you can find.

OK, I'm going to bud in here too. We are going out to NB for my sister's wedding - Moncton/Shediac area. I am thinking of flying into Moncton - do you think this is the best/cheapest way? Anyone have thoughts on cheapest way to fly from Toronto to NB?

There are lots of cottages on the ocean for less money than that and there are several hotels (most) that are $100-$120 night. I would suggest getting the doers and dreamers guide (someone else suggested it earlier) which lists almost all of the accommodations, activities, events, and drives/trails in the province. If you search for tourism NS you will get the correct site. There is really a huge selection and although I am sure many have several reservations already, I know there are still lots of excellent choices. We take several weekend excursions throughout the province with little notice and get great deals on cottages/hotels. You can't beat Ingonish in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park for a few days at the beach!!:cool2:
Good luck with your planning! :goodvibes
