HI - We are new here - I am curious, Is it possible to rent (via another party on the ad board here) just enough points for a single evening stay or do you have to rent a specific block of days? For example, If I wanted to rent a condo at the Boardwalk villas for just one Friday night in September - Is that do-able?

Thanks for any help you folks can offer.

It is theoretically possible, but it would be a monumental amount of work for an owner to do for almost no return.

You don't actually rent points, you rent a reservation that the DVC owner makes for you. That requires a considerable amount of work on their part, and for a one-night stay, it just may not be worth the effort.

Also, if the period you want to visit in is during Food & Wine, a Boardwalk ressie would be very difficult to get.

we recently did this with a member who would have otherwise lost his points. took him a five minute phone call to make the reservation---which I didn't think was that big a deal:cool2:

Hardly worth the hassel IMHO. Unless the renter was willing to pay a substancial premium or the points were about to be lost. May as well pick a rentee who wants to stay for multiple nights, several times the income for no more work

You are right... Maybe if they offered $15+ per point and someone may have some distressed points... The OP will still be getting a deal compared to CRO reservations...

I was able to rent points for a one night stay off of this board at the standard rental rate (not a premium). And it was BWV at Christmas time. I'd suggest posting your request on the rent/trade board and see what you get in offers.

I would hope any amount of points would be an option.. I know I am going to be receiving a small amount of points (26) that we won't be able to use when my resale closes in the next few days. I would rather make the effort for someone then to have them go to waste;)
