Went to Kona last night- first time. We had the sticky wings as an appetizer, delicious! My only complaint was they brought out our entrees and we were not done our appetizer yet! Rush, rush. So much for a romantic meal. I remember people posting this complaint on the Disboard for various restaurants and it is true. We both had the scallop/shrimp dish. Pretty satisfying but vegetables do not come with this dish if you are like me and like your veggies. I asked for some steamed veggies to be brought out on the side, they brought broccoli that was coated in butter, yuck. We took the creme brulee to go because we were full but I didn't like how the waiter kept walking by, hovering, waiting for us to finish. I said to him, "we're pacing ourselves because the food was brought out so quickly," which was maybe rude of me but it was the truth. I didn't have him take food away because it was warm. so..ratings
service - B+
Food - A-
Value - A (good prices, especially for drinks)
Oh and ps, it's our honeymoon and I put this on our dining ressie, and I wore my pin with hopes that we might get some little treat, but nothing. I know that is kind of selfish of me but we have yet to have a dining experience this week where this is acknowledged (we leave Saturday :( ) Perhaps because we look kind of young (even though we are both 28/29)?? And ppl think we're just a young bf/gf couple? I don't know but oh well. We're still having a great time.. to note the Swan hotel where we staying brought up champagne and chocolates, hoorah for them!

Your review is right on. The service there is so lacking. Congrats on the wedding. I hope the rest of the honeymoon goes well for you! Take some food pictures!!!!

The easiest way (I have found) is to open a photobucket account (www.photobucket.com) and upload your pictures. Once they are on the website, they will provide a link which you can copy and paste into your post.
P.S. Thanks for another great review. We have never tried Kona Cafe, so we might place it on our short list for our family reunion trip in December.

Thanks for the review! Nothing worse than having all the food come out at once. Did you find the place loud--or quiet?

Pretty noisy but requested a seat on the side to have some privacy and request was met.

Thanks for the review! Also, congrats on your wedding! We honeymooned in WDW, 10 years ago!! We love the Kona Cafe. We were lucky to have a great waitress and were not rushed at all!! If some are worried about getting their entree while still eating their appy, either send it back and tell them your not ready yet, or tell your waitor when ordering you want your entree to be brought out after you are done with your appy. They should know to do this but I know some want to rush you. Let them know ahead of time, don't be afraid to speak up! This happened to us once at Mama Melrose and I just sent the entree back. I told the waitor I ordered the appy to have before my meal, not everything together. He took it back with no problem. When it came out it was fresh and didn't taste like it was sitting too long getting cold. They keep it warm for you.

I agree about those wings - they are oh so good.
I find the food at Kona is good but the atmosphere/service is definitely "restaurant" not "dining" (which is fine for us, but I can see how it would be disappointing on your honeymoon).

congrats and thanks for sharing! we disneymooned in january and I wore the ears and buttons everywher, and the only places that did something "extra" were narcoossees, and coral reef if i recall correctly. its not selfish to wish for extra magic, as long as you have a great time anyway without it! hope you get some pixie dust! :wizard:
