i have a permobile and i had no problem with the disney buses, the ones on property or magic express. on the magic express they pushed 2 rows of seats forward and thats where i sat. as soon as i backed off the lift i turned to straighten up and parked.

Did you have a problem? I've only used a manual chair but it looked like the rows could be pushed forward quite a bit.

DH had no problem fitting his Invacare Pronto on the DME bus. We did have a driver who was new to using the lift & tieing the WC down. I ended up tieing down the WC because the driver couldn't figure it out!

DD was using her manual wheelchair, which is about 48 inches from the back of her backpack to the tips of her toes. Her feet almost touched the seat in front of the wheelchair spot, but she appeared to be pretty far forward in the wheelchair spot on the trip from the airport. I didn't really notice where she was on the way back, but did notice her feet didn't seem so close to the seatback, so she must have been closer to the back of the spot.

I have had problems because the driver hadn't folded enough regular seats and pushed them forward so the space for my wheelchair was tight.

I ended up doing a one hundred and fifty point turn to get in place (slight exaggeration!). I made it OK and the driver tied me down, though he didn't have a lot of room to reach over me.

I have an Invacare Storm.

How far in advance do you need to let DME know that you have a wheel chair or ECV?

My mom has an ECV and this will be our first trip with it.

Thanks!!

You can let them know when you are checking in at the DME desk to leave the airport, but you will probably have a shorter wait if you call before your trip. There is no specific time in advance to call.
When you check in at the airport to go to your resort, they will make the reservation for your return trip. They should put in at that time for a lift bus, but verify it so you are not surprised.
