Well post has arrived and no letter about youngest DS - I understood that we would recieve them today, does this mean I should worry :headache: or not! Eldest DS is already at the school but still that does not guarantee a place for youngest - can my nerves take it :sad2: on top of no letter the car is in for service had to take 3 buses to work (not good when you suffer travel sickness) and no word - hope that doesnot cost an arm and a leg :headache: will I survive the day :sad1:

Try not to worry yet, you know how bad the post can be in this country, even things posted 1st class can take a day or two more then they should :)
Good luck!

I know people who didn't get their letter on the day they expected, so try to stay positive.
Hope the car is okay and you don't throw up on the bus on the return journey :grouphug:

Snookhams - I've got loads in the post I'm waiting for.
A) letter about secondary school
B) Tesco clubcard vouchers
C) DH's payslip usually comes on a Thursday, that's not turned up today either.
I'm waiting for the confirmation that Ashley has got a place at our local secondary school (to join his brother), I was under the impression as he is special needs we would be informed mid February, we did get a new statement of educations needs for him mentioning our local school but no definite confirmation yet. Funnily enough I gave up chocolote for lent (amongst other things) so I'll join you in not indulging!!!!

1st piece of good news - the car is ready and nothing major only a lightbulb!!!!
2nd piece - apparently the junior school my son attends know what they have been allocated and are telling the children today - so will know when he gets home after 'morphing club' (:rotfl: which has nothing to do with little plasticine men!!!)
Do you think it would be cheating to have something chocolate flavoured!:confused3

Try ringing the LEA.
We had to wait about 2 weeks longer than we were supposed to the year before last to see if my daughter had gotten her place, as the LEA said they were waiting on one of the schools and couldn't send any letters until all the schools had responded.
I only found anything out because I rang them and insisted on knowing what was going on. I then ended up having to let all the other parents at school know that afternoon in the playground.
Hope you get good news.

I wouldn't worry, a lot of the children didn't get their letters in this mornings post as the parents were asking after school. We got our list in the office though so parents were asking there.

We didn't get a letter today either. As I did my application for DS online you were supposed to be able to access the results online from today but I gave up at 4.30 as the system was obviously in meltdown. I rang the LEA admissions to check if we would be getting a letter and they told me over the phone anyway! We have been fortunate to get the school we wanted. Hope it's good news for you all too :)

Yesterday did not end to well - on the way home from the Garage I drove over a nail! so spent more money on a new tyre!!!
But DH just phoned and Matthew recieved his letter this morning offering him a place at the school he wanted - I was quite worried as this school is a church school that is out of our borough and an hours bus journey away, last year and the year before our local authority messed up all the applications and those that applied there were not offered a place!! Looks like its all sorted this year so really happy today :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
