Has anyone ever stayed on the Queen Mary in Long Beach for a night?
I know it is quite a driving distance but thought it might be neat since we are BIG DCL cruise fans.
Think it might almost be like taking another Disney cruise while visiting Disneyland.

Disney once operated the Queen Mary from 1988 to 1992 after it acquired the company which owned the Disneyland Hotel. It made a cameo in Pearl Harbor.
We stayed there about 5 years ago for my brother's wedding. I would do it in a heartbeat! You'll get to see where Disney got alot of the inspiration for the Magic and the Wonder. You'll get a great glimpse into the Golden Age of sailing. Sir Winston's is highly regarded in Long Beach and the Observation Bar is a great place to hang-out and relax during the evening with great views of downtown Long Beach.
The Acquarium of the Pacific is only a few minutes away. A visit here and a tour of the Queen will be an really nice way to spend a day and an evening.

Better look out I hear it is haunted (lol). Be sure to let us know if you see any ghosts.

Yes - I think you will enjoy it.
My grandmother, mother and uncle came to the United States on the Queen Mary in 1948. For a special 50 year anniversary in this country, my parents booked a suite for my grandma's birthday in 1998. There was a small problem (one of the Dodger players and his entourage would not leave their reserved suite). The staff put them into the newly renovated Royal Suites. These were the rooms that Queen Elizabeth and her family used while traveling. Pretty good for a woman who originally traveled steerage. :)
When reserving, ask for the ocean rooms. You will have a nice view of the harbor. And make sure to take the tour. The Queen Mary is full of history. (It was painted gray during WWII and used as a war ship). If you are really lucky, you may have someone in your group who was an original passenger or soldier.

I was lucky enough to see the Queen Mary when I was over in July. Unfortunately we weren't on it as we didn't have time.
It was nice to see something Scottish when I was so far from home:D

You'll love it!! The Queen Mary is a MUST DO !! Take the tour and see the whole ship. They let you walk right up to the bow of the ship. Very interesting.
