Oh, I deleted that sucker as soon as I read the email subject line.. But than curiosity got me and I wanted to read the letter.. You see the news on tv about them..but I hadn't had one til today.. I feel for those who fall for it.. I know I have no relation in Nigeria that I am aware of...

AlexWyattMommy

This relation of mine worked for Shell Oil on the island of Pongo. Where on earth is Pongo? You'd think they would have picked a more likely location.

Mickster
02-28-2007, 03:47 PM
Isn't Pongo in a movie? Something about a dog...

Anyway, I don't get emails aobut money. Just about medicine that could change my life. Lovely. Did I mention it is super cheap?

PrincessNancy96
02-28-2007, 03:47 PM
I tried a search..and I couldn't even find a place called Pongo..

LOL, I looked at the email again.. the phone number w/ area code has too many numbers...and it doesn't have a country code.. Don't you have to have a country code when calling outside the US? I'm like really stupid when it comes to that stuff!!

I'm glad my delete box is due to be cleaned in an hour (dh set a automatic deletion for 5pm every day)..otherwise I'll keep going back to laugh at the errors!

Mickster
02-28-2007, 04:03 PM

I am always getting the refinance ones. Like I'm going to go somewhere other than my own bank to refinance? I don't think so.

I usually just delete the emails that are obvious, re lines that make no sense with lots of misspellings or from names that are a hoot. Wish I could remember some of the more colorful ones.

Hey, Mickster, pick us up on your way to PN96. You have to go right past me. I think I'm ready to do layouts. I think I am, I think am.

Have to admit it...I just wanted to see what was going on! Duplicate posting has come a long way since the last time I messed up! :lmao:

Oh, Nancy, you would not believe how many people fall for those emails. When I worked at the trust division, we were constantly being told about scams...we had to be on the lookout because they target the elderly a lot. Many a bank officer stopped a little old lady about to take $10,000 to claim her "inheritance". Sheesh!

For some reason now, I have to give up my computer so DS can finish a paper...what's up with that? :confused3

StitchIsOurHero

Only FOUR pages??!!!

OK, I must admit I'm back a little early!! We car-pool to our rehearsals. It was sleeting and snXXing so hard when we left, we turned around and came back because it was so slippery..... and we went out for pizza!!! It stopped while we were out for pizza and then started again driving back home. And, tonight were are vocal evaluations for regional competition which we're going to have to make-up, but anyway....I'm sure the Wisconsin people were not there either and are in the same boat.

Happy March! :flower3:

I don't know about anyone else, but March has comee in like a lion in East Tennessee. About one or two this morning, I thought our house was going to blow away! :teleport: And today we have storms, wind, raind, everything. Oh well, that just makes for a peaceful end of March, if you listen to old wive's tales!

AND SIOH and I only have 14 days and 22 hours!!!!!

Mickster
03-01-2007, 08:04 AM
That is what is supposed to be at our house this afternoon. They say heavy rain, strong winds and flooding. That would be a lion if you ask me.

PrincessNancy96
03-01-2007, 08:27 AM
Okay, I woke up to the intense storms early this morning.. Can I just say YUCK! Sound sleep and the crash of thunder do not mix well. We didn't hear much of the wind but we had everyone in the basement. More is still to come. In S. Illinois they had tornado watches out that are suppose to spread our way...
My kids only have 1/2 day today... so who knows what this afternoon will entail.. Well, with the speedy swappers who are whipping right through the slide mount swap, I better go start a progress thread or it will be meaningless in the next day or two!
Happy March everyone.. Please send a lot of PD my way.. my oldest ss(stepson) turns 16 tomorrow... Poor drivers on the road.. I better get a billboard up and warn everyone now!

Nancy I feel for you! When my DS got his license I was a wreck! He was a good driver, but the crazies on the road were enough to give me a heart attack!!

I just would like to know when stopping for a red light became optional? Is it just here in Delaware or all over? I have to wait on MY green for these selfish NUTS to go through THEIR red light...sometimes 3 of them...what gives? (getting down off my soap box now) Thank you veddy much for listening:rotfl:

PrincessNancy96
03-01-2007, 09:27 AM
I so understand what you mean about the optional red light.. or I really enjoy the ones who believe they can talk on their cell phones and be allowed to use the middle of the 2 lane road to drive.. I have had to swerve many a time...

Right now we are dealing with a wild turkey who thinks he can cross a major intersection and when he gets tired he can just lay in the middle of the road.. Yes, this is the main area in town! He had traffic backed up Tuesday night.. We heard the conservation officers got him.. but we saw him this morning down by the middle school. He was down at the middle school Tuesday at 10:45am we passed him.. walking west.. by 2pm he was tieing up traffic at the major intersection(it's about 8 blocks).. ppl were chasing him off to the road.. traffic would get going and he'd take center stage again! This morning he was headed west again.. I sure hope he doesn't make it back to his intersection again!

ddavis860
03-01-2007, 09:31 AM
My DH would be wanting him in my roasting pot...I can't believe that there hasn't been a ooops, and he is for dinner at someone's house...in season or not...:rotfl2:

PrincessNancy96
03-01-2007, 09:33 AM
Well, I emailed a teacher at school about it.. he has written a book about his hunting adventures.. He emailed back and only said.. LUNCH!
That turkey has been around since October... just now he started roaming town.. He had made it to the park and chased all the kiddies out of our park playground one night!

I'm so jealous of everyone going to WDW in the next few days and weeks! I hope you all have great trips.

This weather is @*#&$!! We had heavy wind, sleet and freezing rain last night. Then, in the middle of the night, I heard thunder so it obviously rained, but all of the snxx is still out there. We have flash flood warnings out now and it's supposed to start raining later this morning. Then later tonight and tomorrow we're supposed to have heavy snxx with 50 to 60 mph winds. :scared1:

And no, people don't stop for stoplights anymore. We counted 5 cars that went through one last night while we were trying to make a left turn. With all the driving I do, I always assume cars are not going to stop for lights or I would be in a pickle!!

YodasMom

The first time I saw several of them in a major road around here, I thought we were being invaded by wild pterodactyls!! They're gross looking!

Mickster
03-01-2007, 10:19 AM
We don't have much by the way of large turkeys, but one afternoon we saw a family of turkeys (but they weren't very big, just slow) crossing the street. One parents held up traffic so that each of the babies and the mate could cross the road. Took about 10 minutes. You would have thought that my kids had never seen an animal before. They talked about it for days. Of course, my camera battery was not charged.:rolleyes1

Oh no.. that means that stuff is more than likely headed my direction.. :headache:
I too assume they aren't going to stop..and what really sets me off is the idiots who think that in ice storms they can drive the normal rate of speed and then when they slide off and you can't stop..they flip you off! Hello? Jerk you put yourself in that predicament. We had that happen this weekend.. I was never so glad to get back to our hotel. Even the semis driving 60+ mph on majorly iced highways...

ddavis860
03-01-2007, 10:46 AM
Yup, the idiots on the icy roads...DUH! It's scary! We were parked at a friends house and some idiot was going down the road too fast, had to correct his skid, and almost hit us...then got mad at DH because he had big sideview mirrors and the guy was going to hit them...ummm...HELLO! YOU JUST CROSSED THE ROAD AND ALMOST HIT US?!? And we were parked? My DH was just "Buddy, you almost hit me and my family, I think you better shut up now" and we all sat warm as the idiot had to figure out how to get his truck away from ours. The kids were all "WHOA Dad, that was AWESOME! You shut him up..."

As for letting the crazies through the lights...how do you teach a new driver that the rules apply to him, but apparently not to the other people on the road :confused3 It's really sad! I lay on my horn at the start of my green anymore if I am first at the light...they look at me like I"M nuts...:rotfl:

I think the frozen stuff will all be north of you, Nancy. I'm sure you'll get heavy rain, though. Southern Illinois is having bad thunderstorms. We're having frozen pellets inside raindrops up here right now, but we're just 10 miles from Wisconsin. Yuk!!

PrincessNancy96
03-01-2007, 11:33 AM
I know what you mean.. Some drivers just think the rules don't apply to them.. what do you do... aside from teaching your kids... you not only have to teach them to control their vehicle..but you have to teach them to watch and anticipate what every other moron is going to do while they are driving...

PrincessNancy96
03-01-2007, 11:34 AM
We are also getting that "ice like fog".. as it rains.. the sn** melting we are getting a nice little fog right at the sn**'s cover.. Should make for "wonderful" driving soon! NOT!

Mickster
03-01-2007, 11:52 AM
Because I have nothing else to add, I'm going to bring my inner geek and tell you that fog is called sublimation. The transformation of a solid to a gas.

AlexWyattMommy
03-01-2007, 11:55 AM
We had that last week. They called off school on a count of FOG. But is was really bad. Less than 200 foot visability. Not safe for crossing the street to get on the bus.

PN96, are you still miffed? You can help me clean up my house. It's been let go for three days now. I have to get it cleaned up and packed up before 3:00 today so I can head South.

not a huge difference but enough of one, plus she tapered it in the front to frame my face. I may cut it some more after our trip, I don't think it's short enough. I do think I'm going to get DH to help me color it again. It is next to black in color, the color I did last time just wasn't light enough. As some of you have seen in the CJ my hair was to my shoulders in Dec 2005 and I did not cut it again until yesterday.

BTW sorry the pics are crappy, DS10 does not know how to use the flash yet or how to hold the big camera straight. I should have gotten DS6 to do it, he's a natural photographer.

B&MB I found one of your turkeys! How should I send him back?? DD said the turkey was headed back this way..currently he is at the bank in town!

Love the hair B&MB.. that's about the same length as mine... I was just thinking earlier today I need to get it trimmed and get it to do that little flip up at the ends... Every time I asked for mine to frame my face they butcher the sides.. so I've given up with that one..

WOW! As someone who doesn't cut my hair very often, I'm impressed. If you still aren't happy with it during your trip you can always go to the Main Street barber to get it trimmed. We did that on the 19th, when we were there (me and DD went - sparkles and all!)

It would only be cheating if PN's DD asked for help. This is PN asking for help. She is just checking her work! That way she can explain it later. Besides it feels good to work on something other than laundry or lunch! (or hander painting for that matter!)

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Well, DD will NOT get these answers.. so technically Mommy has phoned a friend!!!
DD will have to attempt to solve these and I will only give her hints.. I'm very adamant about her doing her own work!!! She has to learn... She is so accustomed to doing her own work she avoids signing up for partners on projects because she likes to work at her own pace!!

e = (hv-E) / V

Well I got DS10 to switch the laundry so I only have 2 more loads to go tonight. But I'll have to wash again on Sunday.
Dinner, Hamburger helper, kind of a no brainer so while that was cooking I did dishes.
Pack? HAHA very funny! I still haven't done the t-shirts I'm going to make. And the clipboards need 1 more coat of mod podge on them. I have yet to pay the bills, I was waiting for the phone bill to come in which it did today.

Well, I made it here in the rain. I hate driving in the rain. Behind those big trucks that make fog and so much driving rain that my windshield wipers can't keep up.

Dinner was Chic-Fil-A in Lexington. Got a gallon of sweet tea to have while I am here. Still won't see my DH until Saturday. His Dad is doing much better. He was moved to a regular room today and has been out of bed already and eating solids. We are hoping by Saturday he will be up to seeing the boys.

Get do animal duty while I am here. Four dogs, plus mine, so Five dogs, and Three cats to feed. Twice a day meals and a snack at bed time. These animals are so spoiled. :rotfl: But that is because my kids are so far away from them.

Hope to see you hit 3000 B&MB. Gotta go finish reading the posts I missed and then hit the hay. I am so tired. I tense up so bad when driving.

Ugh! I have to grab my camera because I have to run out soon!!! I need to start on the day.. I'm sure you don't want any pictures of me getting ready for the day..and I won't post any of me in the AM...

Well, this weekend are games are closer and spread out so I can check in each day.. WE have games tonight at 7 & 8PM.. so I won't check in til after 9:30AM on Saturday (DS6's game).. than we don't have to be back to the tourney site til late Sat. afternoon.. and all day Sunday... :dance3:

Well, I worked today! I subbed for Art at DS's school. I brought my camera and took some pictures. Then they had an assembly - super cute for Dr. Seuss. I'll keep taking pictures this evening!

I was going to leave them some money and tell them to meet me or I'd see them when I got back.. Now, I'm here still saving! LOL

Okay, I saw this thread and thought why the heck is a double post thread 11 pages long? :rotfl: I miss all the good stuff when I'm away.

Buffy- How was your trip? Good I hope. We had a great time and were so sad to come back home to "cold NY" as my 4 y.o. calls it. LOL! Wow, you have beautiful hair and not what I was picturing at all. I always pictured you with shorter, lighter hair. I was WAY wrong! :teeth:

Our trip was pretty good. I'm starting to write a trip report but DS6 is home sick so I have not had a lot of time to sit down and write it.

Shorter lighter hair huh?? I pictured you with blonde hair! :rotfl2: go figure!! Probably because the girls hair is so light.

Ugh, what horrible weather.
We have grey cloudy skies, very windy, and temps in the low 40s.
Sorry to hear about your white stuff ruining your weekend.

We are heading South, hoping for some warmer weather there.

How do you get away from them in your little house? Mine is a little bit bigger and I have hard time getting away. Actually, I go out to barn to feed the cats, alot. They are very fat cats.

I send them to their room to watch a movie or my Dad will take them next door to work in the shop. It's usually not to bad but we had all of our togetherness at WDW. I'm ready for a mommy vacation. Anyone care to join me???

How does Mother's Day at the world sound??? ;) :rotfl2:

Sorry about the weather Mickster..

They are having an early dismissal. :scared1: 2 hours early. It is rather ugly out there right now. It has been raining tiny ice pellets all day. I'd say we have about 1 inch of ice. But, it is still rather soft, so it is more like an inch of ice slushy. So much better. :sad2:

Mommy alone time? What is the concept you speak of? When mommy is alone? Or alone with the kids? Hmmm.... I may have to do more research on this topic....:rolleyes1

We are walkers. It should be interesting! It actually is easier to walk than drive to the path. Weird, but true. It is never dull with kids, is it??

Girls.. I'm uploading a picture of our Turkey that causes traffic back ups in town!!!

Here is the little turkey I have mentioned before that ties up traffic in our little town.. This morning he was at a major intersection.. My friend's son was taking his driving test and had to contend with this little guy.. He passed his test even with the Turkey issue!!

The kids and I were coming home from Kroger and we found him again!
Notice he is standing in the middle of the main road.. in front of Dairy Queen.. and when does Dairy Queen officially open.. next weekend! Yeah!

This little turkey is a riot!! The news crews were even out this morning video tapping him. so I need to run and see if we made the news w/ our Turkey Traffic Stopper!

I only get mommy alone time (1) when feeding the cats and (2) when my DH takes both boys to visit his folks and I get to stay home to take care of the animals. The cats & fish are fine for the weekend, but the dog really does NOT like to travel in the car for just weekend trips.

I think I've had alone time, at home, three times. Two of those I spent marathon swap making. :rotfl:

I rarely get alone time at home. Yesterday, when DD was at school, I was alone for 1 hour, but I had a list of people to call and stuff like that. It would have been nice to have time here to work on my stuff. Someday... A girl can dream, can't she??? :rolleyes1

PrincessNancy96
03-16-2007, 01:42 PM
Yep! If we couldn't dream I don't think we'd make it through..
Off to pick up kids for their last basketball practice before the STATE FINALS this weekend. We just need to win one game tomorrow night and we will be in the FINAL FOUR for the STATE!!! Woo hoo!!! Rock on!!! Does a mommy proud!!! (shhh! don't tell anyone but he got his basketball skills from me!)

Anyway, while I'm out I'm gonna make my list of things that have to be done tonight... (minus the 2 hours I'll be gone for DD's band contest)... I guess DH and the boys are gonna have to get a list of things to do while I'm gone for those 2 hours besides watching the NCAA basketball games.. If I can't watch them.. they can't!

I hear ya! Dh is actually really good with me going out with the girls whenever I want. But what I would really love sometimes is some alone time at home. You just can't relax and kick back in your nasty sweats when you're at the LSS cropping. ;)

AlexWyattMommy
03-16-2007, 02:13 PM
I've got these green terrycloth sweats that I wear whenever they are not in wash. They aren't quite at the nasty stage (they wash amazing well) but they certainly do NOTHING for my figure. :rotfl:

One of the joys of being childless is I get alone time at home a lot more than all of you, of course I am looking forward to the stage in my life when I have the little ones running around. I would join you all for a girls Disney weekend- just let me know when and I will try to clear the schedule. My DH does understand I need time with the girls.

Congrats!!
Great for scrapbooking pages..

So, what will the tooth fairy be bringing? Any ideas?

Mickster
03-25-2007, 12:30 PM
The tooth fairy will bring coins from foreign countries and a lost tooth book (in honor of the first tooth). Maybe a quarter or 2. ;) DS wants to keep his tooth, so he has to write a letter today to the tooth fairy pleading his case. We'll see what she says. Probably something along the lines of you can have it, but your mom has to promise to put it in your book. :)
