You took the words right out of my mouth! Lots of liquid & lots of Fiber - plus a bit of protein.

get on mypyramid.gov and they have the amounts of the different food groups that you should be getting. its lots of veggies and fiber, which helps to keep you "full". also realize that those stomach growlies are good things--communication from your body!

You need a balance of Carbs, Fats and Protein. Carbs burn quickly and leaving you hunger but Fats burn slowly leaving you full longer. Proteins are your bodies building blocks.

water and fiber is good. :) Peanutbutter, beans and meats work well too.

I so agree with the balance of Fat/Carbs/Protein and up the fiber!
My breakfast a lot of mornings is a smoothie. It has a cup of plain non fat yogurt, 28g or 1/2oz of nuts (I use either walnuts, almonds or flax seeds) and this adds my fat, 1 cup of blueberries (or other fruit) or 1/2 cup cooked canned pumpking unsweetened, 1/2 tsp or 1 tsp cinnamon (this is because it's said to help your insulin levels and it tastes good to me, 1/2 or 1 whole bannana and 6 ice cubes.
This fills me up for many hours. Lots of Fiber, calcium, and potassium. Good balance of protien, carbs and fat!
On the nights we have pizza I will take and cook up a big huge pot of veggies cooked in a light spray of olive oil. I add this to my pizza and eat it with a knife and fork. This makes it take longer so I get fuller, but it also really increases the volume of the food I'm eating.
I will use beans, veggies and things that are high volume to really help increase my fullness.
Another example. DH made chicken and potatoes the other night with a salad. A little boring for me, and I wanted to volume it up so I took 3 corn tortillas and warmed them up. 3 WW points. Then I took 3 oz of chicken and shredded it - again 3 WW points. I added 1 cup of non fat black refried beans 1.5 WW points, salsa, lettuce, cilantro and tomatoes. Total 7.5 points for 3 corn taco's that were so good and it was a HUGE plate of food!

Fiber is the key. I also try to eat smaller portions of food througout the day as opposed to a huge breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This helps me to keep my blood sugar levels stable so I'm not ravenously hungry. I've found if I don't, I have a tendency to become hypoglycemic. For example, here's what I've eaten today:
Breakfast (around 7:30): Kashi Go Lean w/ light soy milk and 1/2 banana, coffee
Snack (around 10:30-11): Organic Low Fat Vanilla Yogurt w/ sliced peaches
Lunch (12pm): Boca meatless chicken patty and a whole grain english muffin w/ lettuce and onion
Snack (around 3): almonds w/ an apple
Dinner: Either a veggie pizza w/ a whole wheat crust or fish and veggies, etc.
Also, drink lots of water!

I don't know if this works for everyone or more for gastric bypass patients (me) but drinking a lot of water quickly helps me. It supposedly puts the stomach into spasm and makes you feel full more quickly the next time you eat. Like I said it has worked for me but i may be different than most. I am talking about 30 oz in about 5 minutes or so.
