No pun intended!

Going ATL to MCO rates are as high as $ 250.00. Any ideas on whether the rates will come down?

Thanks. :D

That is the start of President's week and winter breaks. That is why they are high. Just keep checking every day to see if they drop the rates.

Dont forget...it's also the weekend of the Daytona 500. I wanted to go also, but got scared off by the airfares.

I was watching rates this fall for Southern California. They took a huge jump right before Thanksgiving and dropped back down afterwards. Now that we are into the holiday rush they are back up again. I'll bet they will drop again after the holidays.

Rates for Feb WERE cheap last month!! We bought 3 R/T fares w/Southwest out of Chicago for $408 (total)!!!
Our trip dates are 2/5 - 2/11. The cheap airfare made the trip planning all that more exciting!

Does anyone know when the best time to buy air tickets is. It seems like last year I seen great deals coming from Detroit to Orlando, about $150, this year all I see for August is $200 and up. Plus, I really wanted to use frequent flyer miles through Northwest and get one free ticket, but their lowest fare is $380 RIDICULOUS!!

So if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I really want to buy airfare sometime in spring with income tax refund.

Thanks

zippehsmom,

Have you tried getting more miles to earn another free ticket?

If you don't have Sprint long distance, you can sign up before 12-31-01 for 20,000 free miles over 12 months.
Here is the link: Sprint Link (http://www.sprint.com/nwa/flynwa)

You can get 250 Northwest miles for requesting an auto insurance quote from AIG. Call 800-692-4047 Extension 2414.

Get a Worldperks Visa (http://www.usbank.com/cgi_w/cfm/credit/worldperks/index.cfm) and get 3,000 bonus miles.

OR

If you've already got a Worldperks Visa, Register your Email (http://worldperksvisa.mindarrow.net/emailpreferences/) by 12-31-01 for 1,000 bonus miles.

Thanks Travelcoupons,

I am already signed up for sprint and we have the world perks visa already. We were really banking the airline miles when you could earn miles for shopping at Farmer Jacks.

I think we may have almost enough for two tickets. We just booked a Vegas trip through Northwest Vacations, so that will earn us some miles. Thanks for the suggestions.

Anyone else have suggestions on when the best time to buy airline tickets for trip scheduled in August??

cmatt,

I think we got a really good deal, I don't know how it breaks down because it is a package. We will be in Vegas 2/13-2/15 (it works out to 3 full days because we arrive early and leave late). We're staying at the Excalibur and the total cost was $630. When I priced tickets separately they were like $250 each, so I think that was a pretty good deal.

I didn't tell my husband, but I only went with Northwest vacations so that we could get more airline miles. I figured hey, might get us another free ticket to disney.

Oh I just forgot we just got a call from Ramada vacations a timeshare that we visited last year while there, and they offered us a stay of $79 to stay there for 2 days, but by the time we cancelled with fees and buying our own tickets. It would not have been worth it.

Good luck cmatt!

Because I teach we always have to vacation when schools are out. Luckily we're out for mid-winter break that week in February, so it works out good. My daughter is only 2. We're leaving her with Grandma, too. Finally, some Mommy and Daddy time :pinkbounc
