just back from four nights at portofino and universal. our familys first trip to universal, and we will be back. i hope to write a trip report one of these days, but for now i will say the weather was great, the crowds were great, the hotel was great, the parks were great, and the staff was great. any questions? we rode just about everything, ate at many restaurants.

We just got back from 5 nights at SS (4 days at Disney) and 2 nights/2 days at Royal Pacific and Universal. Crowds were much less at Universal and the "express" lines by staying at a Universal property are unbeatable. Disney really needs to do something to get crowds down a little. It was hard to walk and push a stroller at times in some of the more crowded areas (Toontown, Main Street, etc).

Our first visit to a DVC resort (we bought points from a fellow DISer) was great at Saratoga Springs. I highly recommend it if you have a large family gathering and need a larger suite. I do wish I could have gotten a better location than Saratoga Springs (bus rides are rather long to get anywhere), but everything at the resort was absolutely beautiful (rooms, landscaping, pools, etc).

But as for the crowds...I vote for a 5th park to thin crowds at Disney World!
