Do you book your room or package and hope that a code (like free DDP) comes out that you can apply later? We have Swan ressies for Sept, but I am hoping for WL with free dining. Since we want a std room (and those are limited), I'm wondering if I should book a room at WL "just in case"? We don't have a lot of cash to pay in full for a "what-if" pkg, but I'd pay $200 to hold it IF I knew it was refundable. Would you book room-only or a pkg? Is there a charge for these types of changes?
Thanks!

I would not recommend "holding a room" in your situation. You actually are working against yourself. Just because you have a reservation a promotion can not automatically be applied. They only offer it on certain room types based on availability, therefor, if a large percent of the standard view rooms are booked, the promo may only be offered on woods and courtyard views. Just to add to the confusion, if lots of people cancel the standard rooms (either to get the discount or to stay elsewhere) they made add this category in to the promo at a later time.

Thanks. That's very helpful. So I should just sit and keep watch, then keep calling to check availability if a code looks good to us. I just got curious hearing so many people saying that a CM or TA told them that free dining would be applied to their ressie if it came available. But you mean that it's only if there are rooms listed for the promotion in your category and available for your dates. Thanks again.

While it is just one little letter I tell clients "could" vs. would be applied based on availability. Again the tough thing to the code is available room types change as availability (reservations and cancellations) occur.

Good luck
