If you're just looking for a big trunk (and a roomy back seat), I'd go with with the premium class.

At Hertz, a luxury class car is usually a Lincoln Towncar, and a premium class car is usually a Mercury Grand Marquis. Both have equally huge trunks (20.6 cu. ft.). One nice thing about these trunks is theris shape -- they're deep (with could height from the trunk floor to the trunk lid), allowing you to arrange luggage efficiently.

At Hertz, a so-called "full-size" four-door is usually a Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable (both 17.0 cu. ft.), though I recently got a Dodge Intrepid (18.4 cu ft.). These models all have surprisingly big trunks, but if you can to have a lot of luggage, they could be too small.

Car rental companies make no guarantees of particular makes or models. A Lincoln Continental (Luxury class) has a smaller trunk (18.4 cu. ft.) than a Mercury Grand Marquis.

By the way, I got the trunk specifications from http://www.citicapitalfleet.com/us/pdf/2002_cars.pdf
