Hey Mandy
We are sailing too! This will be our 3rd Disney cruise:banana: It will be myself, myDH and my 3 girls 13, 10, and 8(at sailing). Also cruising with us are my sil and bil and my niece12 and nephew8. They have sailed with us the 2 previous times as well. We pulled the kids from school the last 2 times but just don't want to do that again. We were really hoping for a 7 day carribean cruise but alas it was not meant to be:headache: BUT we are totally psyched about 2 times at Castaway Cay and we booked a cat 3 for the first time:cool1:

Now if we could only make the time go faster!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes1

How are you ? I got my confirmation from DCL in the post this morning, I love getting mail from Disney, even if it's to remind me how much I owe them:rotfl:

I hope we get a few more people to join us on here soon

Hi there mommykds

This will be our 5th Cruise and it was the double-dipping at Castaway Cay that swung it for hubby to book it. We did a 4 night Cruise this past January and had an absolutely fantastic time

I see by your tickers that you are off to WDW later on this year, are you going in August ? We're going back in July and staying at the Pop Century, where will you be staying ?

Anyway I hope we get a chance to chat more

Mandy :)

Hi Mandy!
Thanks for pointing me to this thread! Wow,,your 5th? You are a veteran! I will be asking you questions if you don't mind!:rolleyes1

We will be at the BC 8/21-8/31. We were there last August too & had such a wonderful time we had to return. (We like to try different resorts each trip, but the service & overall experience at the BC made us stop there!)

You may find something useful on my recent trip report http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1337848 and you'll see what a mad family we are :rotfl2: and what a fab time we had

We've never stayed at the Beach Club, but it looks lovely, it's always great to have your next trip planned, but to have two planned is brilliant !!

Do you DIS from work or are you at home? I'm a stay at home mom, but my youngest went to school all day this year and I will probably go back to work part time in the fall:confused: I haven't worked in almost 12 years now so it seems a little scary, although more money = more Disney cruises right?:woohoo: We have had awful weather and are patiently(or not:rolleyes) waiting for spring to arrive. It is raining here today and a very ugly gloomy day.

mandymouse
03-26-2007, 09:47 AM
Hey Suzanne, I always Dis from home, I don't work as such, I'm a carer for my mum who has very bad arthritis. I go round to her home most days and take her shopping and help with any jobs and appointments that she has.

I've always been able to help her and work around the girls when they are at school, so it's been great to be there for them too

I haven't had a 'proper' job for about 14 years and I would be so nervous to have to go to an interview now, though I do miss the social side of working

So :wizard: Good Luck:wizard: for when you start looking for your part-time job

Do you have any other vacations for this year ?

Mandy :)

p.s. Girls, you will probably see me posting on my 7th January cruise 'meet' thread - I was so lucky to meet some wonderful people on my last cruise and we still chat everyday ;)

suzannef

We are going to Virginia Beach in June when the girls get out of school. We have an inground pool and spa and we like to enjoy that all summer, hopefully the weather will finally break here:rolleyes:

I also met a WONDERful group of people from our Sept cruise last year and we talk almost daily as well. My dd 7 still emails back and forth with her little cruise friend who is a doll!!!

Hey all We just got back from Virginia where we spent Easter with my sil and bil and kids. The weather was unusually cold for this time of year. We actually have snow in the forecast here for several days. I have had enough of this cold and really need some warmth and sun. The girls are on spring break from school this week which is nice but would be better if they could play outside:confused:

We did the sting ray excursion last year(the day after Steve Irwin got killed by the sting ray:guilty: )and my dh and oldest dd did the banana boat ride excursion. We have never done an excursion in Nassau and to be truthful, I doubt we will even get off of the ship this time. Because it is so far away we haven't really talked about excursions yet. I guess we should wait and see what will be offered:confused3

And Mandy, yes we are excited to see Jack Sparrow, as our family just (like 2 weeks ago:flower3: )watched POC and POC 2. Although we all like Will better than Jack:love: We are excited to see At Worlds End on May 25th. Our Dis group on our last cruise REALLY loved POC and I couldn't relate so I am glad we are now finally piratized:rotfl2: pirate: catch ya'll later.

Suzanne - I have 2 DD's age 16 & 14 (17 & 15 when we cruise)

I've been hearing a lot about the cold weather over your way. Some of my friends from Canada and the US (from our last Cruise) have commented on the snow.

We've had a lovely day here today, the temperatures were around 68F and me and the girls were sitting out in the garden sunbathing (mind you the weather can change drastically at any time over here)

I hope things warm up for you soon

Yes, I have been watching since 1983! The first thing I did when I would go to London was to see when it was on t.v. (last time we were there was 1994 before the kiddies) Anyway, they are airing 2001 episodes so we are 6 years behind what you are seeing. Gary just married Lynn, Phil doesn't know Louise is his baby yet, & Zoe is still sleeping rough...

I love british comedys but they repeat alot here so we don't get to see all the new ones.

Thats funny, most of our favorite shows are from Britain Eastenders, Absolutely Fabulous, Changing Rooms, How clean is your house, Bargain Hunt, and the comedies like Fawlty Towers, Kumar's, My Family, & anything with Jennifer Saunders & Dawn French,...we don't watch that much on american t.v.

I would have to say the only thing we watch is Desperate Housewives. :)

Hi Mandy:yay:
I read your trip report for your 3 day cruise, it sounds like you had a great time!!!!:goodvibes I keep trying not to get too excited about our trip cause it is still so far away. We just got back from our summer vacation in Virginia Beach laast week. We had a great time and brought back lots of sand:sad2: (in ALL sorts of places:rolleyes1 lol)My girls are dreading going back to school as summer break comes to an end in 3 weeks:scared1:
I put my application in to substitute teach this year, which is quite scary as I have been home with the girls for the last 13 years. We'll see:confused: Gotta run but I will try to post more often and hopefully we'll add more new cruisers:cool1: :cool1:

It's great to hear from you. Thanks for reading my trip report, we had a great time.

The girls are away this week, they've gone to a Christian festival and they're camping with their Youth Club. They went yesterday and come home on Saturday and they sound like they're having a great time.

The girls go back to school in September too, well actually Kerry is off to college in a few weeks (when she finds out her exam results).

Enjoy the rest of your Summer holiday and good luck with going back to teaching :wizard: :wizard:

Hey Suzanne

Sorry I missed your post, we've been so busy

The girls had a great time at camp, and while they were away, hubby and I took a trip for a couple of nights - just for a bit of shopping, eating and drinking (LOL). We all arrived home on Saturday and we all had a great time

Last week Paul & I went to see the Bourne Ultimatum, we are huge fans of the first two movies - and we thought this one was brilliant too

My girls are High School Musical mad too. It was supposed to be shown here last week, but it has been rescheduled for September. Anyway Kerry has downloaded it and they're hoping to see it soon

I can't believe that on Friday it will be a year till we're back on the Disney Wonder, double dipping at Castaway Cay - woohoo !!

Hi Suzanne

I'm pleased your kids had a good first day at school

I forgot to mention that we've sorted out our holiday for next year, I booked it all last week. We're stopping 8 nights at the Caribbean Beach Resort with the free Disney Dining Plan (16th/24th Aug), then we've got our Cruise and then when we get off, we have 2 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel - we're so excited as we've never stayed at CBR or HRH before

The Free Disney Dining Plan didn't include the value resorts for us UK'ers, so we thought as we were going to be there anyway, we'd give the dining a try too

  Roll on next Summer !!!

They offered free dining already??? How did I miss that?? Can you believe we've never taken the girls to DW????? Well actually the oldest went to magic kingdom once when she was 1. My dh works for Anheuser Busch so when we go to Florida we always go to Sea World, Busch Gardens, and the water park because it's free. We wanted to wait until the girls were a little older to go to DW and then got hooked on the Disney Cruise. I want to add a trip to DW around the cruise next year too. Free dining would be awesome.

Hi Suzanne

Yes, the free dining plan has been opened with UK travel agents for the next month or so. I've heard rumours that people staying at WDW at the moment are being offered a 'Bounceback' rate for next year too (there's lots of info on the Resort & Restaurant forums). How cool that your hubby works for Anheuser Busch, will he be able to get into Aquatica too when it opens next year ? We haven't been to SeaWorld for years now, not since it all changed. We've never been on Kraken and we've only started to enjoy Rollercoasters in the last few years, so we must give it try

Have you got any plans for the weekend ? The girls have got a couple of friends sleeping over tonight and I think tomorrow night Paul & I are off to a 25th wedding anniversary party

How are you Suzanne ? What have you been up to ?

Well it's been fun and games over here today. My little town Nuneaton, has been on the local and national news, as we had a tornado hit about 1/2 a mile away from where we live. We were all woken about 6.15am, and there was torrential rain and it was so noisy too. I jokingly said to Paul that a hurricane had just gone by - but it wasn't till hours later that we found out about the tornado, as trees had been blown down and there was a lot of debris about

LOL Suzanne, the only thing left for me to buy is the Surfs Up DVD that comes out in a couple of weeks :thumbsup2 But as I've got my Christmas trip to organise - all my time (and money) is taken up with that

I'm hoping to buy my Christmas tree over the weekend, and I'm putting it up next weekend :santa:

HI Girls

It's a bit mad around here. Thankfully we're all ready for Christmas, but I haven't made a start on packing for our trip. I still can't believe that we're going to WDW in less than 2 weeks

I've got a busy day today, I'm having my hair cut :scared1: which I'm quite worried about, as I've had the same style for about 5 years, then tonight I'm off to a Christmas party with a couple of friends

I hope you are all keeping well

Hi All
Haven't checked in for awhile. It has been crazy around here Running around for christmas and school functions for the kids. Then this past weekend we got some bad news a close friend of my daughter's father died and she is devistated. poor thing wants my daughter to go to the wake and the funeral with her but my daughter is conflicted she wants to be there for her friend but she is creeped out by the whole funeral thing . She gives us a hard timefor family. i don't know if i should let her decide or make it easier on her and just decide for her that she can't go. Not sure what to do yet. the funeral is tomorrow and she is 16. Anyone have any suggestions?

mandymouse
12-10-2007, 04:03 PM
 Hey Michelle

It's lovely to hear from you, but I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I can only say how I would react in the same situation, and that would be, that if she really didn't want to go then I would take the decision out of her hands and say she can't go. Or perhaps meet half way and say no to the funeral, but allow her to go to the wake

So sorry that you are in this difficult and sad situation

Take care

p.s. Please check in later in the week, so you can tell me how you're getting on with your Christmas plans

nikkyluvsmickey
12-12-2007, 04:11 PM
Hi mandy,
Thanks for the advice. I decided to keep her home for the eake and the funeral. We told a small fib and told the family she was sick. It was better than telling them she didn't want to go. they are supposed to get together later this evening. Hopefully it will go alright. How is your christmas shopping doing? I bet u r already done. I was determined to finish today but i ran out of time and had to be home for the kids. maybe tomorrow i will get finished. at least it is all wrapped. I wrap as i buy. I can't do it all at once it is to much. lol. So i will check in later in the week.

Hey Michele

I think you did the right thing about your daughter and the funeral

We're all ready for Christmas, it's a bit mad around here as we're off to WDW on Monday. We've decided to open all our Christmas presents Friday night, then my girls are off to some sleepovers. On Saturday it will be packing time, and in the evening hubby & I are going to a show with some friends and then Sunday we head up to Manchester to stay at a hotel at the airport before we fly off on Monday

I really can't get my head around how quick our holiday, Cruise and Christmas is coming round

Have fun finishing off your Christmas shopping

Welcome home Mandy;
:laundy: I hate coming home and doing the wash. On our last cruise i tried to do it all on the ship the night before we left . But that stunk the rest of the the family was off having fun without me on our last night while i did laundry. this time i will save it for home. We had a really good christmas here. My daughter (16) hugged me so hard when she opened her christmas present i almost cried. That was the best christmas present she could have given me. We aren't exactly close. She is in that phase where her friends are evrything and we are not that important. So i take my nice moments when i can get them. Anyway hope u had a nice christmas and chat with u later.

 Oh Michele, I can totally understand where you are coming from, my eldest Kerry (who is 17 at the end of January) spent so much time on her mobile phone or on MSN chatting to her best friend this holiday

Do your girls know about the cruise ? If they would like to chat with my Kerry and Becky by MSN or email, then PM me and I will PM you with their details, then that way they can get to know each other before we all go away - what do you think ?

Suzanne - are you out there ? I hope you're OK. Come and chat with us :)

I was on the DCL website yesterday, and our itinerary will be

24th - Port Canaveral
25th - Castaway Cay
26th - Nassau
27th - Castaway Cay
28th - Port Canaveral

Are you hoping to eat at Palo ? I'm really looking forward to having Brunch again, but no-one seems to know what day Brunch will be served as yet. Paul and I will definitely try and have dinner in Palo one evening too

Anyway, have a great day. What are your plans for New Years Eve ? We haven't got any plans yet, maybe we'll go round to our local pub

well all i can do now is just wait..

The Free Dining Plan was offered to us UKers around last September and October, but we could only book Moderate resorts and for travelling during 10th August and 27th September '07

We can start making our ADR's next month too, so we're hoping to go to dine at some new places for us

This is so spooky, I just found some of your posts on the DCL Party Planning thread, and I was just about to PM you to invite you over to our thread :thumbsup2

Anyway, welcome aboard, I'm Mandy, and I'm from the UK, and I will be travelling with my DH and 2 DD's (who will be 17 & 15 when we sail)

How 'wonder'ful for you to be staying at Vero Beach before the Cruise

I look forward to getting to know you

Mandy :)

p.s. When you get time, will you tell us all about the DCL party you are hosting, I would've loved to do this, but it wasn't open to the UK

Thanks for the warm welcome!! I am so excited I found this thread!!

Well, the DCL house party is an interesting thing.. I signed up thinking I wouldn't get picked, and I did - so I was surprised to be selected!!!!

I will give you more 'details' soon - have a few things to wrap up here at work before I go - can you believe, I am expected to WORK at WORK?? LOL

Hi laurie
Welcome to our group. my son is 11 and will be glad to hear that someone his age will be on the cruise this time. The last time we sailed he was stuck between the 8 and 9 year olds and the 13 plus group . He never left us. hopefully your sons and mine can make friends while onboard.
Chat later. Oh I almost forgot I am michele and i will be sailing with my hubby son austin 11 and 2 daughters nicole16 and sarah 14. have a great day.

Michele -

We could get the boys together for sure - the first cruise we took, we were with a group of like 25 people - so, my kids had built in buddies.. the second one - it was just us - and they had each other, we were able to sneak Anthony (8 now) into the lab w/Dominic (11) - at the time Ant was 7 and Dominic 9, so, it was ok -

My little one is a chatterbox - total social butterfly!! It'll be fun - does your son email or anything - we can 'introduce' them!!

Oh - DUH - Michele - I thought your son was 8, wasn't reading so well, see what happens that I am rushing to reply! LOL

Anyway, Dominic is the 11 year old - he would love a 'buddy' - he isn't as social as Anthony - would be great to meet someone ahead of time! Again, we can 'introduce' them as it gets closer!

We actually met a little boy last time on the bus from WDW to DCL - both of the boys hung out w/him in the club once or twice - but, never kept in touch w/them!

Austin wouldn't even step foot in the club on our last cruise. He said it was for babies and either was glued to my hubby and me or he was trying to tag along wwith his sisters at the stack until the counselors would ask him to leave. I'm glad your sons have been to the club before maybe they will tell him it is a cool place to hang out. Talk to you later

I am not sure you want my kids to sell Austin on the clubs! lol They did like it, but would rather not be there.. but, we do want to do Palo again, and we do enjoy Gary Delena - IF he is there again, we'd like to catch his adult show, so,they don't have a choice! TOO BAD KIDS! But, it is much easier to cope when you have a buddy!

Welcome aboard Jen, it's great to have you with us.

I'm Mandy (from the UK) and I will be sailing with my hubby Paul and 2 DD's (Kerry & Becky who will be 17 & 15 when we sail)

Hey everyone

We went to see the Spice Girls last night, and we had a fantastic time, here's what I copied and pasted from the UK Community

We had a fab time last night, and it was probably one of the best concerts I've ever been to

We left here around 2.30pm and sailed down to London, and only really hit traffic once we hit the Blackwall Tunnel. We had pre-booked our car park, and parked near the exit and got into the O2 around 5.15pm. We went to the souvenir shop where the girls bought posters, fingerless gloves and a t-shirt.

It was time for dinner, but the queue for Frankie & Benny's was 50 minutes , so we went to the Water Margin, an Oriental all you can eat buffet, which was really nice

We had a wander around and went up to the Arena to find our seats. We were really impressed with the venue, it wasn't as big as we thought it was going to be, and we were happy with our seats. We got seated around 7.30pm and at one stage there was a big commotion near the stage, but we couldn't see who was there.

The Spice Girls came on around 8.20pm and we were up on our feet having a good old boogie right from the beginning. They looked great and they sounded fab too. All the girls except Posh did a solo, (though she did do a cool catwalk kind of scene which sent everyone crazy) and I was really surprised that whenever Victoria sang on her own, the crowd went mad

Later in the evening, they sang Mama, and then the cameras went onto David Beckham and a couple of their kids and once again everyone went mad, which was the reason for the commotion earlier (I couldn't believe I was only yards away from him :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

Anyway they sang all their hits and it really was a great night. It finished around 10.15pm, and we were surprised at how quick we got out, and we were on our way home by 10.45pm and we got home around 12.15am (and in bed by 12.30am)

My girls are off to see them again next week with their friend, and I am so jealous ;) I would love to go and see them again

It really was a fab night

Sorry, no piccies, as they were all blurred - nevermind

Have a great day :)

Welcome - and good luck w/keeping the secret! I kept it for 6 months, it was KILLING me! We booked in June and gave it to the boys for Christmas! I bought two new DCL guidebooks, wrapped them up in a box w/an 'announcement' and gave it to them from Mom and Dad - why should Santa get all the credit for the 'good' gifts! LOL

Mandy - Spice Girls?!?! WOO HOO!! I am not a fan, but did enjoy watching Mel on Dancing w/the Stars - I am a Bon Jovi girl over here :cool1: - what do you expect from a girl from NJ?!?!?!? LOL

:cool1: Hope all is well w/everyone today!

We go EVERY year - or should I say - every tour! We went back in October, he played at the new PruCenter in Newark, this time he is playing in Philly - but, I am HOPING he plays the big stadiums this summer... We actually took my kids 2 summers ago .. they LOVED it! But it is SO expensive - the stadium tix are a bit cheaper!

How is everyone today - quite the quiet bunch!!!

We are going away for february break to virginia to go whale watching but i can't get excited about a winter vacation. I hate the cold. I am always sick in the winter. But the rest of the family is excited to be getting away so i am pretending to care...lol well i'll check in later

Hi! Wanted to join in on the fun. We just booked in November while we were on the Magic. It will be myself, DH, DS (who will be 6 in Aug) and DD (who will be terrible 2 in Aug). DH and I have cruised the Wonder once and have been lucky enough to be on the Magic 3 times. When we got home we were discussing the trip and my mother-in-law, brother-in-law and two nieces (twins age 12) ended up booking too. We are on deck 2 in cat. 9s. We're planning on doing a few days at the parks after the cruise too. Can't wait to get to know everyone and share the excitement and wait for August.:)

Nicole is the only one at this point with any plans. Her friend has a photo assignment for class on suicide. How odd is that? so nicole and two of her other friends are posing for some pictures of them dead. Very odd. But she likes to do the theatrical makeup and costumes so she is excited about it.I think the teacher is a little nuts doing a assignment on suicide for a photo class but whatever. Nicole's art teacher gave them an assignment to draw the death of a cheerleader. How nice. I think all these teachers are alittle nuts....lol Anyway i have to get back to workng on my hubby's buisness taxes chat later.

Hi everyone - Welcome Veronica!

I haven't been on all day!!! Busy, busy, busy - not a busy weekend though - Anthony has basketball at 8am tomorrow, but other than that - we'll be homebodies - we are expecting some kind of snow UGH!!

Anyway... we are cruising with:
Laurie (37)
Carmine (35)
Dominic (11)
Anthony (9)
Category 9 - Deck 2 - I think our room is 2612
Early seating - which we might be changing.

Does anyone prefer the early/late seating - we've only had the early, but my sis and her husband are coming along on the cruise (they booked later than us), and they have the late seating - so, we might change, they are waitlisted for the early seating - if they get it, we'll keep it, if not, maybe we can switch.

This will be our 3rd time on the Wonder and I just can't wait to be at Castaway Cay twice. I doubt we will even leave the ship in Nassau??

Hey Girls

Woohoo !! It's the weekend at last

Michele - Nicole's friend's project sounds rather weird :rotfl2: My youngest Becky is taking photography at school, and I'm waiting for them to have to take some wacky photos too. Mind you, the death of a cheerleader isn't much better :rotfl2: It all sounds like an episode of Ghost Whisperer :rotfl:

Laurie - we have had late seating for our last couple of cruises, especially as the girls are that bit older now. It always seemed a rush to be ready for dinner at 6pm - though saying that, we had 8.30pm on our last cruise, and that felt quite late :confused3 Well one thing is for sure, we're not going to starve whatever our dining time is :rotfl:

Suzanne - we didn't get off the ship in Nassau on our last Cruise either. Sometimes we get off to take photos in the harbour, but we really don't like going into Nassau. Maybe one day we'll get to Atlantis, but it won't be this trip. We're excited about visiting Castaway Cay twice too, I can't wait

My friend is on the first double dip in May, and they are waiting to find out when they can book Palo for brunch - noone seems to know what day brunch will be on (as it used to be on the day at sea day). We're hoping to do both brunch and dinner at Palo - what about you lot ? are you hoping to get to Palo too ?

Mandy :)

I am undecided if we are going to do palo or not. Jeff hates dressing up and i don't want him to be cranky on our cruise....lol i would love to try it though. We'll see how he feels about it later on. Even for our dinner's onboard he grimaced at wearing anything but jeans and a tee. I made him wear a nice polo shirt and some dress pants but even that was torture t him. he thought since he was on a cruise he would be in his shorts day and night..lol later ladies Michele

We love Palo for brunch, the food is to die for and the service is top notch. We
don't do dinner though because our girls love having dinner on the ship and we love having that family time together. My kids really don't like the lab club whatever. They went when we asked them to but certainly never enjoy it. They like doing other things on the ship and hopefully this time as they will be a little older we can allow them some more freedom. Who knows maybe they will like the clubs this time:confused: But in any event we will not do Palo for dinner.

Michelle suicide and death of a cheerleader????? wacky lol:eek:

I can totally understand where you are coming from Michele. I must admit that I love to get dressed up each night (even when we don't have to), but the one thing that puts me off from cruising on the Magic (along with the cost :rotfl: ) is formal night, I would hate to put on a ballgown and Paul have to wear a tux - that would be just too much for me

We love Palo for brunch, the food is to die for and the service is top notch.

I agree Suzanne, dinner is great, but brunch is just fantastic, and the service is the best :thumbsup2

What about excursions, are you planning any ? I doubt we'll do any, though I wouldn't be surprised if Kerry and Becky hired a pedalo at Castaway Cay again - they love doing that :thumbsup2

Hey suzanne do you know your stateroom number? We have 8548 we wanted 8032 again but they hold those for the land and sea people i think. no land and sea for us this time.

Mandy my only excursion will be to find the perfect lounge chair and drink to spend my day with. Last time we did the stingray adventure it was cute but once was enough. we rented a tube but no one really used it. Everyone was more interested in just sunbathing or swimming. Do you think u will get off the ship for bothcastaway stops or just the one? Jeff thinks one is enough for him. He isn't a huge beach person. I know i will be there both days. Love the sun even though i never tan i am very pale and when i do sunbathe i burn. So i am either pale or burnt. Eventually it turns to tan buti am not very patient....lol. Well i have laundry to do so i'll chat later.:laundy:

Hi Michele

We are planning on getting off the ship on both the Castaway Cay days - we're not beach people either, but we love the sun and Castaway Cay too. We tend to get off early, lie out till 12, have lunch, then spend another hour or 2 in the sun

Of course, it will also depend on which day Palo Brunch is being served, it would've been on the Wednesday (what used to be the day at sea). If we're really lucky, they'll serve Brunch on Nassau day - that would be perfect for us :thumbsup2

Hopefully we'll find out next month when the first Double Dippers start doing their Palo reservations

Hey Michelle we have 8534. We are not doing a land/sea package. Last year we did the stingray excursion on the morning after steve Irwin was killed. It was very emotional for everyone working there. It was nice but I wouldn't do it again either. My dh and oldest did the banana boats and had fun. I'd like to do the wave runner excursion or parasailing, but I LOVE the beach and sun and could just lie on the beach all day with some Corona or pina coladas and be happy. My girls love the beach too. It cracks me up that we live in central new york because we all have that beach and sun mentality:confused3

My parents have a private beach by them i spend most of the summer there or at my friends pool. I love the beach but my hubby just tolerates it for me . The kids can take 2 or 3 hours tops and they are ready to go. i have been trying to convince my hubby to move to south carolina for the past few years but he is resitant because he would have to start his buisness up all over again. It is to expensive to live on long island anymore and i hate the snow and the cold. Well back to the laundry. Chat later

Right now we are flying in on the 22nd staying at rph cruising 24th-28th then i don't know if we are going to do the free dining at disney if its offered or stay at our timeshare. What's RPH Michele ?

At the moment I am trying to 2nd guess the morning EMH's for when we have got the free dining plan. We've never done this before, so we're trying to find out which parks open early, and then book a breakfast for mid-morning. I've looked at June and July's EMH's and they seem to stick to the same days, so hopefully they may be the same for August. Luckily the EMH's should be released for August before I have to make my ADR's in mid February

We're hoping to do the Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast, has anyone done this before ?

I had the Lilo & Stitch breakfast for my birthday in January '07, I loved it. Both me and Becky are huge Stitch fans. The food came out in a platter, and as it was my birthday, I was given a birthday card and a Hawaiian lei to wear. So I'm sure Nicole will love it too :thumbsup2

Just a quick question

What's the best meal/character meal that you've been to in WDW ? as I'm trying to think of where to go for our dining plan

Thanks

nikkyluvsmickey
01-19-2008, 03:02 PM
Hands down best meal Le Cellier omg the cheese soup and the pretzel bread not to the mention the filet mignon. Best character meal was chef mickey's for breakfast not so much for dinner.:woohoo:

I must admit that as a family we love doing the Character meals, like Princess Storybook Breakfast, Chef Mickey's and Lilo & Stitch. For hubby & I, we love Restaurant Marrakesh, but I've heard so many good reports about Le Cellier, it would definitely have to go on our maybe list

We're definitely going to try to get CRT and we're also toying with the idea of the Rose & Crown, Raglan Road, Tusker House Character breakfast and Yak & Yeti

I've printed off all the menus for the above restaurants, so hopefully Paul and the girls will have a look and see what they fancy :)

I think i am tied between ak and mk. I love kali river rapids(even though i am always the one who gets soaked) and i like the safari. My living room is actually safari themed. I have elephants, giraffes and zebra's tastefully decorating the room even my ceiling fain is wooden leaves. When i get a theme in my head it takes over. Anyway i got sidetracked there. I love mk because it feels more disney like with mickey everywhere and the castle. i love the castle at night.I don't think i have posted this much in a long time.

It's great to know other people's Disney experiences. As for my house, I have got lots of Mickey Mouse and Stitch stuff all over the place. Here's some piccies I took when we were talking about it on the UK Community

My little table

And the window sill

My hubby always says that I'm the easiest person to buy for, as long as it has Mickey Mouse or Stitch on it ;)

lol.my says the same thing. He either buys mickey or elephants. I love the stitch pieces(very cute) . I have no idea how to post a picture on here of my living room. I will have to ask one of the girls to do it for me. My computer skills are limited. I also liked the pirates of the caribean picture with the family.

Hi Ladies
Nice pictures, I still don't get how to get them uploaded. My Dh did the one for my avatar, I hate having to ask him for computer help because he thinks everyone should be able to "get" it like him. Actually I'm sure one of the girls could do it for me. Angelina made a great dvd of our first cruise with fun music and graphics. I guess she gets it from her dad:rolleyes: I used to have a red white and black mickey bathroom but recently changed it. I'm sad to report that I don't have much Disney stuff in my house as far as decorations. The kids have lots of stuff. I am even more embarrased to admit that we haven't been to Disney World in 11 years:eek: Yes that means my two youngest have never been and the oldest when she was about 18 months old. We have been to Florida about once a year since but always go to Sea World, Busch Gardens, or beach or cruise. We had a trip planned for Sept 20th 2001 that we cancelled and have never gotten around to going. John and I actually went on the Big Red Boat and Disney World for our Honeymoon and loved it. I'm hoping to go next year

I opened an album on photobucket with my pics off the computer and then transferred them to here from photobucket. my Dd helped me and thought i was quite the idiot that i couldn't do it on my own. She of course didn't say it just gave me the oh god attitude.. Well off to work night ladies.

Hey I know that attitude too. It usually involves some serious eye rolling and muttering under the breath;) Have a good night at work

Morning Girls (though it's the middle of the night for you :rotfl2: )

Great photos Michele, I look forward to seeing some more

Hey Suzanne, my girls laugh at me as I'm so useless when it comes to the computer, but one thing I did learn by myself (after many attempts) was how to download my photos. I use photobucket too, so once you have downloaded your photos onto your computer, register on photobucket, click on browse to find your photos, click on the photo you want to download and save it. It is easy once you get the hang of it, it just took me a long time to get the hang on it :rotfl: :rotfl:

Suzanne, I have heard of the Big Red Boat before, was it a completely different ship, or was it a previous name of the Disney Magic ?

One thing I would love to do, is to have a vow renewal ceremony on the Disney Wonder, someone on the UK Community had one last year, and it sounded fantastic

:wave2: Hi everyone else, and have a lovely day

Good Morning everyone!!!

I am definitely ready to get on that boat! It is minus 12 degrees F here right now!!!

My incredibly smart 6 year old said to me yesterday " So Mom, since you are reading the "Mickey Boat Book (the passporter) does this mean we are going on a cruise".. I of course said, Nope... I just like to read about it... She is too smart... I have also done a great job Disney Brainwashing her

I am really looking forward to getting to know you all!:goodvibes

Wow, it sounds cold where you are Jen, I hope it warms up soon

I'm really looking forward to getting to know you too. How many times have you been to WDW ? and what is your favourite Park and rides ?

I can't wait to get back onboard the Disney Wonder. We usually go straight up to the Beach Blanket for lunch and then hubby & I lie by the Goofy Pool with a Bahama Mama in hand while the ship is nice and quiet - ahh bliss !! ;)

Good Morning everyone,

Yesterday was a crazy day but hopefully today will be a bit quieter.

Mandy, I have to second Le Cellier for a meal. I think it is my favorite place at WDW now (we used to love Portobello Yacht Club at Downtown Disney but the last few times we have been slightly disappointed). I am also a big Epcot fan so it always works in well in my plans to stop there. We did the Cinderella breakfast years ago when my nieces were young. If you love princesses it is definately the place to go. As far as the meal, it was so-so. The food was pre-plated so as long as you like what they serve you will be fine.

As far as Palos, I would love to go there one night. My bil has never been there for a meal but his girls are shy and I am not sure if they will like the clubs this trip. My kids are no problem. In November on the Magic my son never ate dinner with us unless I insisted (he loved the clubs) and my daughter was OK about going to Flounders (and I loved having a quiet meal a couple of times :cool1: )

Sarahsmom73 - yikes, I thought is was freezing here and its in the 20's, I guess I'm lucky but I would still rather by in FL (or better yet on the ship)

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!
Veronica

Morning Ladies!! Yea it's cold here today too. It's about 5 degrees out and we got about 5 inches of snow last night. About 30 miles north of me is measuring the snow in feet (lake effect) so I guess I'll take what we've got:goodvibes I would still rather be in Florida though (sigh)

Great photos Michele, I like your Safari theme with your birds (or is the same one), and your statues, I like the giraffe one in the background :thumbsup2 It's a great theme

Veronica - thanks for your vote for Le Cellier too, I think I'm seriously going to have to consider eating there :thumbsup2

Suzanne - Have fun watching your day of football, I take it's American football you're fans of, not soccer. We were on the Disney Wonder when David Beckham made his debut for LA Galaxy last Summer, we watched the game from Diversions (I know slightly off topic :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

That's ok you can go off topic about David Beckham anytime:love: I watched that game on tv too by the way probably the only pro soccer game I have ever watched. But yes I was talking about american football. Go Giants!!!!
