Mandy do you know if they have 80's night on the 4 night cruises? I always want to go but can't drag DH. The only thing I've gotten him to go to was match your mate.

My husband complains about me dumping him on a cruise but for different reasons. He prefers inside (air conditioned activities such as movies, hanging out in the sports bar) and I always want to be outside by the pool enjoying the sunshine. (Although I do like to go to Bingo)

Morning Veronica

I guess I'm lucky, we both like to lie in the sun in the day (Paul lasts a bit longer than me) and then in the evening, you can find us both in Diversions watching sport on the TV, playing draughts or eating nachos and chicken wings (yes even after a late huge dinner :thumbsup2 )

Sandy, I was only reading about this the other day. I'm sure that someone mentioned that the 60's, 70's & 80's nights had finished, and replaced them with something else,

Well, I can honestly say yesterday was the worst day of my life. Things are looking more positive, but...

Keegan had his CT scan at 8:30. We were to have a follow up with his doctor at 4:00 PM. They called at 10:00 saying they hadn't received the results yet, but would like us in at 11:45 so we could avoid the afternoon "flu" kids. Red flag there. I couldn't even concentrate and sat with Keegan trying to put Legos together waiting to go in. We get there and they take us straight back to an exam room. Second red flag. We've never not waited. The doctor tells Derek to sit in his exam chair-thrid red flag-- and tells us that Keegan has a tumor and they think it's lymphoma or teratoma (cancer) and that he has a 2PM appointment at Johns Hopkins. I don't even remember leaving the office, but we made it to the J.H. Pediatric Oncology center and he had 5 vials of blood taken. We saw 2 doctors examining him head to toe and taking a complete history. They showed us his CT scan and pointed out a tumor near his heart/lung. They went to review his blood work and did a smear to check for lymphoma/leukemia cells and did not find any. They said there is always a small chance it didn't show up yet. They had the head radiologists look at his scan and they found air pockets in it. They said that he could have been born with it and it continued to grow and it got infected by pneumonia through his lung tissue in that spot. For now, they are treating him with antibiotics 3 X's a day for 10 days to see if it shrinks. If it doesn't he has to have a biopsy and perhaps surgery to remove it. The pulmonary specialists and infectious disease doctors are going to review his case today and see if they want to do IV antibiotics instead or any other treatments at this time.
They will give him a CT scan at the oncology center in 2 weeks and we'll go from there. It was a very, very rough day. I was so in shock at the doctors I couldn't even cry and nearly fainted. I was completely expecting to hear his lungs were fine. I'm confident he's in good hands and we're very positive we are going to fight this with all we've got. Please keep him in your prayers.

Good morning girls, I am on the catch up again!! Just got back from foodshopping....

I can't believe you had a delay today Sandy - and I love the pic of your DH in the pirate garb - mine would NEVER do that - the most I can get out of him is a pirate T-shirt!

Mandy - I love the pics of Paul - that is too funny! Carm would have to be totally drunk to do that.. I am talking TOTALLY!!!!! :lmao:

Deb - nice little hunting dogs you have there - I would love to see I pic!!

Michele - HELLO there!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you miss me?!?!?

Veronica - I am thinking your DH and mine will have stuff to chat about - METS!! Carm will get on a roll there - he will talk if it is a topic he enjoys!

Morning laurie, sandy, mandy,
Wow that's scary mandy...glad everything is o.k. though.
I was talking to jeff about my dumping him on the cruise to hang with you guys and he said what is the difference from the last cruise i ran off then and he babysat austin because he wouldn't go to the club...lol:rotfl: I am terrible i didn't even realize i was gone that much. I am just a social butterfly .I loved playing bingo and chatting with the people there. Do any of you girls play bingo on the ship. I loved pikey on our last cruise.

This will be perfect - Carm and Jeff can hang w/the boys at the pool and we can go have FUN! LOL

I've never done the bingo - maybe this time we can hit BIG - not like w/sunshine!! :)

Maybe Austin will go to the clubs if we can buddy him w/Dominic.

Now that you are talking about CM on the boats... who has been your Captain, cruise director, wait staff? Any 'good' ones?

We had Brent Davies on BOTH cruises we were on. He was on the Magic in 05 and over on the Wonder in 06. And - I think we had Captain Tom something-or-other.. On the Magic cruise we had Fitz and Dennis in the dining room - and on the Wonder we had some guy and a lady - can't remember their names, so not too memorable - they were nice and all, but we had Fitz on the 7 day, so we were really 'tight' with him.. ON the last night, we gave him the tip envelope and a big hug, I was crying! lol I heard from one of the head waiters in 06, that he was being promoted... He was the BEST! I will have to check w/the kids or DH to see if they remember the name of the other two.. hmmm...

I will keep him in my prayers!! Please keep us posted on his condition. Poor little guy! Hopefully the antibiotics will help. How are you holding up today?? I couldn't even imagine - we are here if you need us!

I wish I could remember the CM's, the only people that seem to make a big impact on us is our dining servers. The best we ever had was in Jan '07. Here they are

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v491/MMM120/CIMG2464.jpg

Sunil and Jorge, and they were hilarious. If the girls had the camcorder on them, they would always play up to them - they were brilliant. We saw Sunil last Summer, but neither of them were about in December :(

I think if austin has a buddy he will go the club laurie. My most memorable person was pikey ...loved him and he teased austin everytime he saw him austin really liked him too. I have read that pikey will be on the magic in august though:sad2: The other was our room steward carlos. He was great he would teach the kids how to make the towel animals each night and he was always there for us unlike our crappy conceirge team. Man they sucked ..he totally made up for them.

mandymouse
02-27-2008, 11:29 AM
Y'know Michele, I really wouldn't want to have conceirge. I'm happy with someone coming in our room to clean up and sort out our beds, but I wouldn't want anyone else 'taking care' of us. Did you like it ? what else do they do ? (though I would be very happy to make reservations at 105 days out)

I only remember our room steward from last Summer, he was called Enrique, and everytime we saw him I would break out into song 'you can run, you can hide, but you can't escape my love' :)

Speaking of cruise ship staff, we had the strangest staff experience back in 1999 on the Wonder. We had done other cruises but it was our 1st Disney cruise (and pre-kids) This trip we did a 4 day cruise and never once saw our cabin stewardess. She did a great job cleaning the room and taking away/bringing back dry cleaning (when we were at dinner or at the pool). We would always look for her and never saw her once. It became a joke that she must be hiding and watching for us to leave. We figured that we would definately see her on the last night (tip night) but she still never materialized. DH & I ended up leaving her envelope in the room that night. Usually we love to meet and get to know our steward/stewardess and I almost felt like we missed something that trip.

Well they are supposed to book your excursions for you .
make any dinner changes (which we did need on the last but they couldn't accomplish that task so we had roomservice)
Bring you goodies for the kids
we asked them for a chess set(which they are supposed to be able to do) it took them 3 hours to say they couldn't find one carlos the room steward went to the cove cafe and was back in 10 minutes with one.
basically they stunk on every level.

We had the absolute best stewardess on our January '06 cruise. She was like one of the family. Her name was Glenice. We brought her little gifts from the ports and she got a huge tip.

Christopher likes the "invisible" steward/stewardess. I like to get to know them.

Our favorite Palo server was Riche (sp?). He was great. Also, Adina. LOVED her. She has been promoted though and is a manager now.

Our regular dining room servers have been good but not GREAT. I'm waiting for that magical team.

I feel your pain...I actually dread when Bryan takes a belt test...usually it takes around 2 hours of watching everyone else and about 10 minutes of watching him. Plus there are only a few seats so I end up sitting on the floor for 2 hours so the entire lower half of my body is asleep 1/2 way through. Luckily this month he's not up for a belt yet:banana: I'm such a bad mommy.

Tonight DH is away in Philadelphia again so I'm hoping to get the kids to bed at a reasonable hour then watch TV and relax (wishful thinking but I can dream).

I wonder if the 3rd night will still be Pirate Night, not that it matters to us, as we're on late seating, but when we go to Palo, we like to eat around 6pm and then head to our dining room for a cocktail or two :thumbsup2

We can't do it on the last night, *** there's no way I could eat two Palo meals in one day ;)

I think you are right and I definitely couldn't eat a Palo twice in one day. The brunch does me in.

I have to find out which night is Pirate night on the 3 night cruise. I think I will go for that night since we will dress up for Pirate night on the 4 night cruise.

We got some more promising news late this afternoon...the pulmonologists at Hopkins think that keegan's mass in his chest might be fluid filled and may respond to the medication he's on. This would mean no biopsy/surgery if it clears up on it's own. His doctor at the Peds oncology unit said that he doesn't think he's an oncology case, but they are going to continue to treat him and follow his case to see how it develops. He's going to call us in a couple of days with any new updates. It's great that they share his case with so many other professionals there to get so many opinions. It's been a long 48 hours coming from him being diagnosed with cancer to now possibly a fluid filled mediasternal mass possibly due to pnemonia. He slept all afternoon and is looking a bit better. He still has his "asthma" cough which makes me wonder if he's ever truly been asthmatic (he was diagnosed at 3) or if this mass has always been there (as hypothesized yesterday) and just recently been infected. He's going to head back to school tomorrow. I spoke with his school nurse and teacher and made sure that they are going to watch him like hawks. I had to get a "doctor's order" for his medication--the nurse said they can't just use a prescription. I'm going to take him in and make sure he feels ok being back and is doing ok walking, etc. He's pretty much been home since last Thursday. His teacher said she'd speak with his classmates about being very careful around him and not bumping him, rough housing, etc. I didn't want her to use the word tumor so kids wouldn't be scared or think it was contageous. I just hope he can make it a full day without falling asleep. He's been sleeping half the day the last several days. I'll make sure to have his teacher email me with how he's doing. We are really, really filled with much more hope tonight.

Hi all -

I've been out and about a bit today .. Dominic had "battle of the books" at the middle school, BORING, but - his team placed 3rd - so that is pretty good.. I got my nails done, did some typing work, played some pogo games, and IM'd with Michele the rest of the time! LOL

We just had dinner, I am going to try and catch up on the boards, then head down to the treadmill.. Not that I feel like it!!

Tonight DH is away in Philadelphia again so I'm hoping to get the kids to bed at a reasonable hour then watch TV and relax (wishful thinking but I can dream).

IDOL tonight - girls singing - I hope someone sings some disco!!!! What would the 70s be w/out it!!

I know we've talked about this before (but I've forgotten), are any of you planning on eating at Palo ? Are you doing Brunch, Dinner or both ?

We're hoping to do both :)

I think we are going to do dinner.. not 100% which night yet..

Well ladies it's back to Boston tomorrow! Ian got the call back. I was starting to think the call wasn't coming 'cause it was getting late. He's not even home right now so you are finding out before him:banana: We will need lots of lucky pixie dust and leg breaking etc - LOL

I had hoped to do dinner because my BIL has never eaten at Palo and DH, MIL and I have always enjoyed it. We never tried brunch but I don't know if we want to give up the morning at Castaway. Now you have me considering the brunch. Is Palo brunch really worth giving up the morning and trying to book it and time at Flounders?

Good Morning Mandy!

Here I am! LOL I went to bed early last night - I was tired after a long day! I swear I do less when I am at work then on my day off!!

As far as the weight loss goes... ?????? I started out good, and I've been good all week, but.. didn't go on the treadmill last night, went to bed instead - and overdid it w/dinner last night.. I cooked and it wasn't a 'bad' thing to eat as far as the diet goes, but I ate TOO much of it!! So, we'll see ... I still have plenty of time before Sunday!! I'll get back on the treadmill today - but, I needed a break for a day.. How are you doing w/your diet??

I am off to work in a few - I'll be on ALL day - hopefully something EXCITING is going on!!!

Have fun shopping Mandy!!

Laurie ;)

What are you up to today Veronica ?

I hope it warms up for them too! When we did the 7 day in November we had chilly weather at Castaway (1st time that ever happened) and very windy. Most of the excursions were cancelled. We tried to do the Stingray encounter and the water was so rough, chilly and cloudy we really didn't enjoy it. I love Castaway and was so sad that we didn't really get to enjoy our time there (which is probably why I rebooked a double dip). I'm happy we won't have that problem in August (lets just keep the rain away).

Not much happening here today. I have to take Bryan to school and Tae Kwon Do and I have to go exercise today (I skipped yesterday and wasn't good with what I ate). I'm so glad your diet is going so well. I need to get some of that will power! You have any plans this afternoon?

We did Alaska years ago (before kids) since my husband likes the cold weather and I always made him do warm weather trips. It was beautiful and a great trip but I must say I missed the pools, warmth and sun!!!!! Your idea of compromise sounds perfect!

Now why didn't I ever think of bringing a bucket of snow indoors to play with ? Poor things, they used to drag me out into the snow and within minutes they'd be back inside with cold, raw hands (bless 'em)

Thanks, I hope I have a nice Mother's Day too :)

That sounds like my husband...he is addicted to Haribo gummi bears.
He doesn't go until 12pm. We have lunch at 11am. I often feel like I spend the whole morning waiting until 12! I can't wait until next year when he is full day! (Although I am sad that he is growing up so fast) Even next year school doesn''t start until 9:25 which I think is late but he doesn't get out until 3:30. What time do your kids go in?

OH.. Those gummi bears are the best... I like the clear ones...............

We did PM-K too .. I kinda liked it - Picked them both up at the same time, and was able to enjoy lunch w/my friends!! :thumbsup2

I have absolutely no desire to ski either...luckily both of my kids are the same way. They love the beach and hate the cold. My son gets excited to see snow but then I bundle him up and he gets outside and wants to come back in within 5 minutes. We end up bringing in a bucket of snow into the house for him to play with:rotfl:

Hope you have a wonderful day on Sunday Mandy and get some yummy treats!

NO skiing here - I never took a liking to it, so, my kids will never know it exists! LOL They do like sledding though, outside in the snow - like Veronica said, too much bundling up for me! Then, you have a lot of extra laundry..

Mandy - have a great time on Sunday - eat something delicious for me!! LOL

I use to work in a playschool for a couple of years when Becky was there, I absolutely loved it. I love kids at that age, they are so much fun. When I left there to take more care of my mum, I used to volunteer in both the girls classes with reading and helping out on trips. But once they went to secondary school, that all stopped. Maybe when Becky has finished school, I may go back to volunteering again

Mandy - have a great time on Sunday - eat something delicious for me!! LOL

Thanks Laurie, I may not want to eat too much chocolate on Mother's Day, but when I hit that buffet, there'll be no holding me back.

I took Keegan into school. After everyting we've gone through, the secretary made me sign him in as tardy today!! Classes didn't start until 9:00, and it was 8:48 but the homeroom bell had rung at 8:40. He was a bit apprehensive, thinking he might fall ill again at school but I assured him he won't be doing gym class for a while (at least until his next CT scan) and his teachers will be keeping a watchful eye on him. I feel like he's a newborn again, getting up half the night to check on him and being so protective. I sure hope the next 2 weeks fly by and we are all in the clear.

They have 1/2 day Kindergarten here too. Brennan went last year at 8:45 and got home at 12:15 and that includes the bus ride. This year he leaves at 8:30 and is home at 3:30. Keegan leaves at 8:05 and is home at 4:05. When he's in 7th grade he'll have to leave at 7:00 AM. I think that is way too early. All of these studies show kids need more and more sleep and the districts continue to have such early mornings.

We are definitely a beach family. I enjoy making a snow man with the boys after a snow fall and once a year snow tubing, but can't stand the cold. Keegan said he really really wants to go to the beach again soon so I may fly him down in a few weeks with my parents over a weekend to Clearwater, where they have a small vacation home. He could use a weekend on the beach and fishing with his grandpa. I can't even begin to imagine what he's emotionally gone through himself this week. I was thinking of even having him "talk" to his guidance counselor to make sure he's doing alright. He tries to be so brave for us, I just want to be sure he's being open with his feelings.

02-28-2008, 09:54 AM
I can understand how you want to keep an eye on him, but I guess the best thing for him is to try and get back to some sort of normality. He is so brave and I hope he doesn't find school too tiring today

How wonderful to be able to escape down to Clearwater for the weekend. I'm sure that will be the best medicine he could have right now - seeing his grandparents, and being in the sun too (can I come too ;) )

You take care of yourself too Danielle

How have you done this week Veronica ? Have you had a weigh-in ? or is it an exercise class ? Good luck at Curves :wizard:

It is circuit training...basically there are about 20 machines/platforms. You have about 30 seconds on each one then the tape tells you to change. You go around 2 times. On the platforms you can jog in place, walk in place, jumping jacks, etc depending on your level (and energy that day). There are many machines so you work all parts of your body. They play lively music to keep you moving. I have found that is a great way to start exercise (for people like me that have never been to a gym) because its easy to learn and there are women of all levels. They weigh and measure you once a month (I'm on the 10th so I have to work hard for the next few days). This week was tough because I haven't been for a while I was away and my asthma is still bothering me a bit from being sick but I have to say that I feel so much better after I go.

For Paul and the girls, they pack a couple of days worth of clothes and then go mad in the malls shopping. Hopefully all I need to buy Kerry & Becky will be a nice dress for one night on the Wonder. As for me, I am always looking out for holiday clothes, I'm after a new dress, probably for Palo, a denim skirt, and a tankini set for Castaway Cay.

Great news Danielle!:thumbsup2

Hey Guys

Sorry I haven't been around much this week. My mom was admitted to the hospital Monday ( I was called out of class) with a bad case of the flu and pnuemonia. They admitted 12 people in 12 hours with the same bug. She is still there but will be released tomorrow. The radiologist thought he saw something on the chest x ray so yesterday she had a CT scan. The great news it it came back clean today! It has been an awful 2 weeks for me. 1st Sarah with the high fever, Emma in the ICU and then my mom in the hospital.

Em will be going to Boston Children's on March 27th to see a new neuro.. That is my other good news today.

I feel like I have been living under a dark cloud.. Here's to better times. In fact my mom said she might have to take us on a cruise to celebrate everyone getting well.. Maybe it will be 2 for us!

me too. Living in snow land, I really need it to be warm on vacation to be happy. John wanted to take an Alaskan cruise and I told him I would be thrilled to go as long as it was balanced with a caribbean cruise afterward.

I agree, but I think you all should take a cruise to alaska then you can come visit me. We are a port stop for the alaska cruises. (RCCL & NCL) Although I will never understand why people would want to cruise here!!! We do not have summer.

I did an Alaska cruise and it was beautiful, however this is not the time of year anyone wants to think of Alaska:) Ask us again this summer when it is 90 and humid and I bet you we'll be more anxious to come visit (although on days like today I can't wait until its hot and humid)

what are your plans for today?

I'm hoping to have a quiet day at home! Bryan has a playdate after school but other than that I plan to keep warm, do some:laundy: and start some Spring cleaning (everyone comes here for Easter and its fast approaching). Stay warm being taxi today...at least the snow isn't supposed to come until tonight!

I feel that weekends and holidays are a time to relax the diet and enjoy... so go for it! If you don't have times when you can treat yourself you won't be able to stick to the diet! On Mother's Day you should be able to do whatever makes you happy!!!

It's much more fun dieting with others too, everyone keeps us on track with encouragement and no doubt sympathy if we should put the odd pound on

My problem is that I've 8 wonderful days on the Disney Dining Plan before we get on the Disney Wonder, I just hope that I eat as normally as possible, then throw in treats like Pineapple Floats and the occassional apple turnover :) I really don't want to feel like a blob by the time I get onboard

Is anyone doing any Florida shopping over the weekend ?

No shopping for me this weekend. Christopher is going to visit friends in Maine so it's just me and the kiddos. I think we will work on rearranging Ian's room.

At some point I will need to break out the exercise video. I'm thinking Monday:rotfl: I feel so bad, you guys are doing so well and I have had to eat out so much lately. I did make some hard boiled eggs for breakfast today. Mmmmmm.

Keegan is really bouncing back to his "normal" self and I'm hoping it's a sign that his medicine's working on that mass. He really looks so much better today than he has in a week and was the happiest I've seen him in a week.

Mandy, congrats on the weight loss.

I lost some weight from not eating with the stress, but I'm making up for it. I really need to restart an exercise program myself. I haven't been to Curves in ages and my treadmill still has action figures on it. Brennan asked me this morning before his bus came if he could run on it since I don't. Nice.

I think once the warmer weather comes I'll be a lot more excited to get out and bike ride with the boys and take Maggie (our bealge) for longer walks. Maggie can't stand the cold either so she only gets let out in the yard several times a day and once around the block each morning in the winter. It's just bitter cold to be out there more than a few minutes.

If anyone's good at rhymes and corny jingles, Southwest is having a Ding rate headline contest. We did:

We have destinations with sand, destinations with snow,
Southwest will make your wish their command
wherever you choose to go. Click here for a great Ding fare.

Corny, I know, but it was worth the chance of winning a $500 Southwest credit.

SandyM- Congrats on Ian getting the call back. Good luck to him on getting picked.

Hey Danielle - I'm so pleased that Keegan seems to getting back to his normal self

I agree, I think it's much easier to exercise when the weather is nicer, the cold weather just makes you want to snuggle up on the sofa and keep warm

Hopefully you'll find the motivation to take those action figures off the treadmill soon :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:wizard: Good luck with the Southwest contest:wizard:

Anyway Paul and I are off out for a couple of hours to our fave wine bar as the girls have got one of their friends here for a sleepover

Catch up with you all later, have a great afternoon/evening :)

Hi all..

Just a quickie - I have had a horrible day - I am tired, going to retire to the couch in a few.. .I have a LOT of pages to read up on, please don't be offended if I don't reply to all posts... I just don't have the energy to do it!! I am emotionally drained today... It's a long story - and I've told it a million times today (right Michele?!?)...

Anyway, hope all is well w/everyone... hopefully I'll get moving on the boards tomorrow.. Ant has basketball at 11:15, and his end of year basketball party afterwards. Sunday is BON JOVI - I can't wait to go!! And weigh in on sunday morning... :goodvibes

Have a great night everyone - I am hoping to lay on the couch, watch TV and fall asleep till at least 8am!! But, for some reason, I can never sleep in... UGH

Mmmmmm.

Work is busy so I will check in later. Hope everyone is having a "magical" day!

C'mon - get the video out - LOL Join us in diet/exercise misery!!

And eggs... HELLO - yokes or NO yokes?? ;)

The thing is girls, I have never felt so motivated to lose weight as I have recently. I think you guys have been really supportive and I don't want to lose that motivation. I know a couple of chocolates aren't going to affect me too much, I'm just worried that I'll pig-out

I have to agree with you on that mandy i have tried to lose the weight before but gave up pretty easily. This time i am much more motivated to be thinner for this cruise and i think it's because of you guys.:thumbsup2

Look at the motivation here.. and I BELIEVE it was started by ME!!! LOL I'll have to pat myself on the back there - Just kidding!

It is so great that everyone is dieting... and feeling good about it - it really keeps me going here too w/all of the support from you guys!! :grouphug:

You deserve the two cruises for sure - I am glad that your mom is feeling better.. Keep us posted on Emma's visit to the neuro.

Good Morning everyone!!!
I have to work today and then pickup and sort girl scout cookies so I won't be on till later:sad2: Try not to leave me with more than 10 pages or so:lmao:

Oh and Jen you have us beat we are -1 degrees and only -13 with windchill:sad2: Why o why do we live here!!!!!!!
We did our 'duty' and bought some girlscout cookies, even thought I don't NEED them in my house!!! But, you are a good mom, sorting/selling/distributing all of those cookies..

When will it get warmer?? It is freezing here today too - I think we are expecting some more snow, but it is supposed to change to rain overnight.. so, we'll see!

Afternoon Girls

Wow, its been quiet here this afternoon!!

Mandy, hope you enjoyed your wine & relaxation!

It has been very quiet on here, I only had one page to read. I hope you've all been doing something nice

Yes I had a lovely evening thanks. Unfortunately due to all this dieting, those 2 large glasses of White Zinfandel went straight to my head last night, so I made a point of not coming of the DIS in case I wrote something inappropriate :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (which I have done before ;) )

Have fun mandy :cool1:

My kids decided they didn't want to go to bed last night so I never got to check in but it looks like everyone was busy too...not many posts to read!

I was lazy yesterday and didn't get much accomplished so today I am determined to do some cleaning and stay away from the kitchen (and the snacks). I think I can make some of my ADRs today so I have to also get moving on that (but at least thats fun!)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good morning ladies..

I had a horrible nights sleep - but, hoping today will be better.. I decided I am going to be making A LOT Of changes in my 'social circle'..

A little background on my issues yesterday - I'll make it short and sweet... we had an issue w/the talent show song, we need to change it or bleep out a word in the original, which was "Life is a Highway" - by Rascal Flatts - the word 'lovers' is in there, and we were told it was not acceptable.. anyway... we had issues back and forth, and being we have 16 boys, I said I would split w/one of the other leaders and we would do what half wanted, and the other two leaders (one being my cousin) could take the other group... so, my cousin was PO'd because I suggested it - being her son was being the difficult one w/the choices - we wanted to do HSM2 - the baseball song (don't remember the name) and he refused.. so, I suggested the split, and apparently hurt her feelings.. she was pretty upset w/me.. but, I didn't think I was doing anything wrong.. this whole activity is supposed to be FUN for the kids, and if some wanted to do HSM, they should.. but, whatever, that isn't even the point.. SO, she was pretty mad, we spoke, blah blah blah.. but, after talking to a few people (Michele included - thanks for being there for venting!!) - I made it through the fiasco.. had to deal w/my cousin at school for some PTA door judging contest - she was a bit cold.. then we had talent show practice and talking to me, but a bit cold again..

So, that was my stress yesterday.. there is a lot more to the story, but way too much to type.. needless to say, I am still thinking about it today .. it bothers me, but whatever.. I have to start doing more on my own w/other friends, and w/out them, ya know... need some space...but of course, Ant invites 2 friends over in front of her son yesterday, and included him as well, which is fine w/me.. so, there is no 'issues' w/the kids - they don't know what went on... which is good, but it is hard to have space, ya know?

Am I making sense or rambling? Anyway, that is the jist of the story.. Thanks for listening...

So, basketball today, and BON JOVI tomorrow.. :woohoo: I think the weigh in will go pretty well, I weighed myself this morning, and it looks like 2 pounds, so, as long as I am good today, I should do well.. then tomorrow night, I am going to SPLURGE! :yay: I am going to the concert w/my best friend Laura (from grammar school), my friend Jen (her son goes to school w/Ant), and my cousin - so, it'll be interesting!! We are talking, and seemed ok last night, but still a little cold..

Alright, enough of my yapping - I am going to shower and get ready for the day!!

Thanks for listening!

:grouphug: Aww Laurie, so sorry that you had a rough day with your cousin, it's a shame when something that is supposed to be fun, gets a little out of hand, and sometimes people get a bit too competitive - thank goodness the kids were all fine with each other and didn't pick up on the awkwardness

I'm sure by the time you are all off to see Bon Jovi, you'll all be too excited and forget about yesterday

Well done on the 2lbs loss, I hope it's still off for tomorrows weigh-in :wizard:

Laurie,

Sorry you had such a rough day yesterday, having a close family is wonderful but some times it can be difficult too (I speak from experience). I just need to finalize my ADR decisions with my BIL then I'll let you know what we end up doing. Glad I could remind you:goodvibes and you got what you wanted. Since I check in on the 28th hopefully they will let me do some of mine today too.

I watched the Mets games yesterday, it was a good game but too bad they lost (again). Today its on WPIX (11) so I will take a break from cleaning to watch them play in warm Fl.

Hope today is much better for you!

What are you up to today? I'm sure you are looking forward to tomorrow!

This morning we had a lie in. We went to visit Paul's aunt in the nursing home, then went to a shopping mall for a wander around, sadly I didn't buy anything, but we did get some $$ for our trip as the exchange rate is so good

Kerry and Becky came in a while ago with a cute Mother's Day balloon and some Daffodils (my fave flowers) for tomorrow. I've got a couple of presents for tomorrow and I'm looking forward to going out to dinner. I've done all my housework and laundry today, so I can chill and be very lazy tomorrow :thumbsup2

As for the rest of the day, we haven't got anything else planned, so I'll probably be on here ;)

Sorry to hear you've had a bad night Michele, actually that has just reminded me that the girls had a friend to sleepover last night, and at 3.45am they decided to start a conversation downstairs, needless to say I had to get up and tell them to go to sleep or else :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (yeah right). Hopefully you'll get a little nap later :)

Honestly Michele, I have known myself to make a couple of naughty comments on the UK Community when I've had a drinky-poo or two, and had to edit them the next morning - it really doesn't look good for a Moderator (though thankfully most of the UK Community know what I'm like :rotfl: :rotfl: )
