I noticed that there are a lot of teenage DIS girls on this cruise, and that is awesome. My DD14 Katie tends to be a little shy, so it would be nice for her to have some friends on the cruise.

Sorry for your loss! One of the funerals I went to was my 80 year old neighbor, I feel bad for her husband of 55 years, she had been ill for the past 5 years. The other was a 27 year old boy ( one of my daughter's former gym coaches). He died in his sleep at college. It was so sad!

Welcome, I will be travelling with my DH 46, DD 16, DD12, DD ( will have just turned 8), SIL 40 something, MIL and FIL. PIL are DVC members and this is the second cruise that they have taken us on, they also went on the Wonder last Nov for their 50th anniversary. then they got the cruise for us for Christmas.

I lived in Aspen Hill MD back in the late 80's and I still have a close friend in Annapolis.

No decisions on home schooling yet although i am at ths moment, leaning towards it.:scared1:

I am trying very hard to keep motivated, I've done my DVD, but I have to be careful not to over do it, or I'll get bored with it, and give it up. Everyone seems to like the treadmill. Paul and the girls were on it last night, but I think I'll stick with the DVD or go for a walk and get some fresh air (I don't think I'll mention that to Paul though :rotfl2: )

Shopping was OK - picked up a few things - nothing major - what I really need to do is organize my list - I printed out the one that Mandy sent us, but it is like 4 pages, and I have to keep flipping around - SOOOOO I need to organize what I have already, what I want, and who it's for - then I'll be good!! Just to let you know - The DCL special will be on the Travel Channel this Sunday morning at 10am -for those of you who want to watch and dream about being there!! We have it on DVR - but, it is always exciting to catch it on TV!! There are also a few WDW specials on that day as well!!

Hi Laurie - I have a renewed love for LHOTP. I tape 4 episodes per day from the Hallmark Channel on my DVR - it reminds me of my younger days and the whole family watching the show and my parents usually crying. :goodvibes

We really hope to spend a day or two before and after the cruise at WDW, but have no definite plans yet.

That's not a dumb question Kathy. FE is Fish Extender Exchange (you can find out more info here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607). The Fish is the hook outside your stateroom where DCL leave messages for you, the extender is what hangs from the fish, and basically we leave small gifts for each other in them

I've had my weigh in and I'm pleased to have lost another 1lb this week. I only have a couple more pounds to lose, but it really is getting tough now, but I am staying focussed

It won't help that Paul and me are going to Manchester tomorrow and that will involve an Italian meal and several bottles of wine :rotfl2:

What are you all up to today ? I've got an easy day today, just grocery shopping this morning, running around after the girls and cleaning up

Little House is my favorite!! I usually watch it on Hallmark (if I am around) - 10 to 12, and 3 to 5 - WOO HOO!!! :woohoo: I like the episodes when Laura is married - the old OLD ones, I am not a huge fan of - so, the ones that are on now in the afternoon - I am not liking as much - actually it all starts getting 'good' when Mary heads to the blind school (poor Mary! LOL) :sad:

We are going to Disney's Vero Beach resort on the 19th, then heading to the ship, then to WDW for just ONE day!! :yay: Then, we recently booked Disneyland for November - :banana: the kids (and I) can't wait - we've never been there before - I know everyone says 'it's not the same' - but, I'd like to check it out anyway!!

I spent the day yesterday driving to Sarah's optometrist 3 hours down, then she and I had lunch at Ruby Tuesday to celebrate her being discharged from the Dr., back on the road to head home.. We decided to stop at the Lake George outlets to check out Gymboree and Osh Kosh... Holy cute clothes Batman! I bought mostly Sarah stuff, but I will have to go back and get the girls more stuff for the cruise! I didn't pay more than $7.00 for anything!

Sarah was really into accessories.. It would be scary to give her Carte Blanche!!!

We left at 7:30 and never got home until 5:30!

Today I am Hanging out with you guys! I missed you yesterday!

The problem w/that is - I buy too much stuff - usually I wind up having to buy another bag to take it all home in! The girls had a great time at the theme park. I think they rode lots of rides, had dinner and bought one photo - thankfully they didn't come home with a lot of silly souvenirs that they tend to buy everytime they go :rotfl2:

Well I am waiting for a call back from Boston. Some more of Em's test results are in.. Her carnitine and acylcarnitine profiles are normal. I think that means we can rule out long chain fatty acid oxidation disorders but I want to make sure that is right..

People keep telling me Em is going to end up in a research journal. I'd settle for what can we do to help her! I was nervous last night because she was really fussy and actually threw up a little.. I know we know what to do if she gets sick, but our Pediatrician is in DISNEY WORLD right now. The other Peds know what to do, but I am still nervous.. Em woke up fine, ate well and used the potty! She is averaging 2 -3 times a day over the past couple!


Sarah is chilling out on the couch in her Jammies, eating popcorm, drinking cocoa and watching the Wizards of Waverly Place. I think she will be in her jammies all day!


I think I may do a garage sale at my parents house over memorial day weekend. What ever I make we will use for "extra" fun money for our trip. I really just want to get rid of stuff we never use!

I spent the morning running Niki to the 3rd doctor this week. She has had a fever all week and has missed most of the week of school. This dr was for scoliosis ( she has a curvature of the back) that her Ped. wanted checked out, but all is good and no treatment necessary. Becca is in PT for her back and shoulders and now she has shin splints. Sectional are in 2 weeks and States in 2 more weeks, hopefully she can have some down time after that. I am glad she does an indoor sport, althought we never get a day off. They even train when it is 98 degrees and there is no AC in the gym. I laugh when people talk about our kids needing more exercise. Some of them are getting enough for everyone!

Niki and I picked up paint and grout for her new room and bathroom, sounds like fun for the weekend:sad2: I can't wait to get this project done. We have a reall small house so we are taking an old bathroom in the basement and fixing it up and building Niki a room. Then they each will have their own room and we will have 2 bathrooms! It kills me when my friend complains that she has to clean 5 bathrooms. We have priority seating and call ahead seating at our house:lmao:

I should be working but having a hard time getting motivated. One of the evils of working from home.:surfweb:

Good thing I'm not much of a shopper, I am surrounded by outlets, Lancaster, Reading and now there is a premium outlet mall that is just like the one in Orlando, it was on my way to the doctor but since it was raining and it is open air like FL I passed and I live 5 minutes from the 2nd biggest mall (I think) in the country.

Diane...Glad to hear that Niki's scoliosis was under control. I have personal experience with scoliosis. I wore a back brace for 2 years then had a spinal fusion and rods implanted in my back when I was 14 so I know how serious it can be. Good luck with all the work around the house!

No big plans for me. Baseball pictures which have now been moved to Sunday morning then a baby shower on Sunday afternoon. Tomorrow looks to be a lazy day at home:) My big challenge this weekend is for Emily to survive pacifier free - wish me luck!

Hi all!!

It's been a busy day here...

Carm and I went to breakfast after we dropped Ant and company off at school! Then we went to Ikea - found a new TV stand - so, now we have things to move around from our room to the basement, from the basement to the trash - and of course, today was heavy garbage - so, now we have to keep it till next month!!

Then we went to Philly to pick up the tix - what a fiasco - construction everywhere - SUPER busy, I think it was worse than NYC!! UGH

After that, back home for a bit - did a bit of FE shopping online - and off to school for our PTA board yearbook picture, talent show practice, dinner, baseball practice, and a bit of shopping - not FE this time - ME! LOL I got a pair of jeans - a size SMALLER than what I have on now! They aren't exactly too comfortable, but that might be the inspiration to lose some weight! :rotfl:

Tomorrow we have baseball at noon - then the Soul game tomorrow night! Sunday will be a lazy one for us too!!

142 days - WOW - sounds so much closer when you break it down to days, doesn't it???

Well I am waiting for a call back from Boston. Some more of Em's test results are in.. Her carnitine and acylcarnitine profiles are normal. I think that means we can rule out long chain fatty acid oxidation disorders but I want to make sure that is right..

People keep telling me Em is going to end up in a research journal. I'd settle for what can we do to help her! I was nervous last night because she was really fussy and actually threw up a little.. I know we know what to do if she gets sick, but our Pediatrician is in DISNEY WORLD right now. The other Peds know what to do, but I am still nervous.. Em woke up fine, ate well and used the potty! She is averaging 2 -3 times a day over the past couple!
Sarah is chilling out on the couch in her Jammies, eating popcorm, drinking cocoa and watching the Wizards of Waverly Place. I think she will be in her jammies all day!
I think I may do a garage sale at my parents house over memorial day weekend. What ever I make we will use for "extra" fun money for our trip. I really just want to get rid of stuff we never use!

OH YES! MY FE has been shipped! I'll post a pic when it gets here!
Jen - keep us posted on the doc's results! Sounds like she is doing awesome w/the potty!!! Tell your doc to bring you something back from WDW! I hope Em is feeling OK!

I wish I spent the whole day in my jammies - that is the BEST!!! Sometimes I like to shower and hop into a fresh pair of jammies - and I have to tell you - I rather enjoy the Wizards of Waverly place! lol (don't tell anyone!!!)

I wish I could get my act together and get a garage sale in order - the extra $$ would be great! You know what I did do? I sold my 80's jewelry - did I tell you this already? That's an easy way to make some $$ and clean out the old stuff that you'll NEVER wear again - I had quite a few of the "L" initial rings - I look like Laverne - from Laverne and Shirley! LOL But, good luck w/the garage sale - you can get rid of stuff and make some $$ - but, take this advice - don't be disappointed if you don't get too much action on the holiday weekend - I would try it the week before or after - because a lot of people go away - Just my two cents there!

I can't wait to see a pic of your FE - be sure to send it when you get it!

Just got the email from Ian's baseball coach. Practice will start on 4/12, games will start 4/26. So Laurie I will be joining you freezing. Time to get out the blankets and chairs.

Good thing I'm not much of a shopper, I am surrounded by outlets, Lancaster, Reading and now there is a premium outlet mall that is just like the one in Orlando, it was on my way to the doctor but since it was raining and it is open air like FL I passed and I live 5 minutes from the 2nd biggest mall (I think) in the country.

Thanks Laurie. Yes we did pop out for a couple of glasses of wine. It always marks the beginning of the weekend for us, where we catch up on what Paul's up to at work and what's happening with the girls without the distraction of the girls or the TV :thumbsup2

As far as shoes go on the boat - I'll take one dark pair of sandals, one light pair - probably NO heels - (I am not too coordinated on heels) - a few pairs of flip flops (the Nike ones are the best - but, they have to be the OLD style!) - and my sketchers sneakers - that don't look like sneakers... Well, at least I have my shoes lined up for the trip! :woohoo: Now I just need fit myself into some clothes!!!! :rolleyes1

Good Luck with the pacifier! When we got rid of Sarah's I did something really horrible... First I poked a hole in the end.. a day later I put a small cut on the end.. Sarah put it in her mouth, told me it didn't work anymore and then threw it! My mom thought it was the meanest thing ever, but hey, it worked!

The good thing about Memorial day weekend is it is a HUGE garage sale weekend here.. I'll give it a whirl and if it is slow maybe I'll have to do it again!


Shoes... hmmm.. I am a croc freak! My kids a school think it is cool. In fact I have started a trend :rotfl: go figure... I just really like them, they are comfy, and fun with all of the colors! I will probably bring a few pairs. I have to think about the other shoes!

Oh - as long as Memorial Day is a big weekend there for garage sales - we tried one on a holiday weekend and we were VERY disappointed!! My mother is actually doing a garage sale today w/her friend - she just called me (disturbed my Little House) - to see if I wanted these motion Santa Mickey and Mrs. Santa Minnie motion things that her friend was selling... the answer is.................................. YES ! :banana:

Do you have the regular type crocs jen? I saw the other ones - they actually have sketchers like them too - and the sandal ones I like too - I think this year I am going to invest.. My kids both have the Mickey ones - don't know if I'd go that far!! LOL

I was sad there was no Mets last night..hopefully today will be better. Hopefully you'll get a win when you go on Tuesday no matter who is pitching!
Bryan did fine at the dentist. The spacer is in place where they pulled the tooth and we only have one more dentist visit next month and that it just x-rays. Bryan's upset that he's not allowed any chewy candy with the spacer. I'm excited I get to throw out a bunch of Easter candy he got from his uncle:cool1: Hope you have a good day and thats its warm for bball and you have a great time with the gang tonight at the game!


Good Luck with the pacifier! When we got rid of Sarah's I did something really horrible... First I poked a hole in the end.. a day later I put a small cut on the end.. Sarah put it in her mouth, told me it didn't work anymore and then threw it! My mom thought it was the meanest thing ever, but hey, it worked!

My big plans... .Groceries... and more FE shopping!

Shoes... hmmm.. I am a croc freak! My kids a school think it is cool. In fact I have started a trend :rotfl: go figure... I just really like them, they are comfy, and fun with all of the colors! I will probably bring a few pairs. I have to think about the other shoes!


Jen..I don't think you sound like a mean mommy with the pacifier and Sarah (just a smart one). I may have to try it - desperate times call for desperate measures.
I love my croc flip flops (took a little while to get used to them but in the summer now I wear them constantly). I love the fact that if they get wet in the rain or at the beach it doesn't matter.

So last night we had about 1 1/2 hours of screaming/Emily searching frantically around the house for a binky. She finally gave in from exhaustion and let me rock her to sleep around 10pm. I tried to give her a cup of water to substitute as the pacifier and she threw it back at me. She is stubborn so I know it won't be easy but at least its only twice a day (nap and bedtime) that she is really difficult. I think we'll take her for a ride in the car at naptime to make her sleep :)

Hello BAHAMA MAMMAS!

Oh i feel so bad for Em with out her Binky!! I have no back bone. Luckily my kids got tired of their and gave them up, I had a hharder time with bottles!!

Veronica - Wow, we are lucky, not treatment needed. That must have been rough on you at 14!

Cool shoes, I wish I could wear pretty shoes, but I have plantar facisitis ( inflamation of the sole of the foot) so only sneakers for me, I can get away with something swuishy like a croc for a little while. There is a Croc outlet near me if anyone ever wants any. I haven't been there yet, so I don't know if they have good deals or not yet. I find some of the outlets are not always that good a deal.

I saw the Magic leave from both the port and twopalms today, it looked all gray and overcast, but I would rather be on there on a bad day then in PA on a good day!!

Got to run, going over to a friend that is a travel agent I can't wait to tell her about the web cams!

Well, we have now survived 2 days without the binky:yay: Thanks to everyone for all your well wishes! Luckily she fell asleep in the car for nap so that was not a problem. Tonight she only cried for about 15 minutes then she calmed down enough to let me rock her to sleep. She took the water cup too. I'm hopeful that each day will get easier and that I can ease out of the rocking her to sleep (she used to go right into the crib no problem with the binky). Now I have to make sure Tom doesn't cave tomorrow when he is watching the kids ;)

We had a beautiful day here, sunny and 60F so we took the kids to a fish hatchery nearby where you can feed the fish. They loved it. We then went to a local town that has a cute downtown area (Michele -it was Huntington) where we hit a few shops including a yummy homemade chocolate store (luckily the chocolate is very expensive so I only had a couple). Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

So I did some FE shopping last night for the Bahama Mamas (that's us)! I am pretty excited! It is a very cool idea! Hopefully I will get some more done today!

Hey Girls, how are the 'Bahama Mamas' today ?

Well Paul and I had a great time yesterday. We didn't get to Manchester till about 3.30pm, but we had a good wander around the shops. Paul bought me a lovely pair of Skechers sandals (I'll post a piccie later) and I bought Kerry a TinkerBell towel (for when she goes on holiday with her friends family) and I bought Becky a cute Stitch snowglobe

In the evening we went out for an Italian meal, it was delish. I had a mushroom lasagne and Paul had the meat lasagne, and we had filled potato skins and garlic bread - Mmm

We're really tired now, I think we'll be having a nap this afternoon :rotfl2:

Yes.. Grocery Shopping is my favorite... I guess we have to eat...
Crocs.. I have the regular ones(4 pair) , 2 pair of mary janes (these are my faves) 1 pair of mickey crocs, 2 pair of winter crocs ( I wore these all winter) and a pair of the flip flops.. (I don't care for these so much).. I want a pair of the Minnie Mary Janes next.. I told you I was nuts about crocs!

My friend does her grocery shopping online - then goes to Shoprite and picks it up - there is a $10 fee - sometimes there is a coupon on the Shoprite flyer for 1/2 off - but still - saves a ton of time - and once you go online and shop, it saves your 'basket' - so, you can just go back and click on what you need and you are done! She said the first time took a while to set it up, but, now, it takes her like not even 10 minutes to make the list, she sets up a pick up date/time - and they bring it out for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someday I am going to try that!! Like when I need to do a BIG shop - usually I am a piece shopper - so, it wouldn't be worth the $10! Enough grocery talk! LOL

I think I need to get some crocs - I am going to look into that this week! The other night, we were shopping, when I bought my jeans - (that aren't as tight as I thought - must have been the mile on the treadmill yesterday! LOL) - anyway, they had all kinds in the store, so when I have NO kids w/me - I am going to take a look - maybe I'll try the maryjane types - I am not sure if I am a huge fan of the regular crocs though! MAYBE I should have Diane check the outlet for me?!??! :laughing:

So - it might have been sad that the Mets weren't on Friday night, what was sadder was the loss yesterday! UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH - we had the game last night, and went to Champps before just to watch it - and the beginning wasn't so bad - but, when Carm was getting the updates when we were at the game - he kept nodding his head! :scared1:

Glad things worked out at the dentist - get rid of the candy! LOL And another trip back - I guess you are building up your flyer miles! LOL I usually wait a few weeks, then bag it all and take it to work - the guys are my 'garbage cans' - they eat ANYTHING!

Jen - Good morning to you!! It's great to see you on so early (mind you it's almost 9 here! LOL) I was up at 4:30 - dog was 'stirring' so, I had to put him out, then I came down and went back to sleep on the couch watching "Norbit" - just got up about 8:20 - seems like everyone upstairs is still asleep!! :cloud9:

The WII is A LOT Of fun!! Sarah is going to love it - it actually gives you quite a work out! It's amazing how far video games have come! Back in 'our day' - it was little dots on a screen w/a big circle chewing them up! LOL

Weather here today is drizzle and clouds - I guess we can't have two good days in a row!!

No plans here - catch-up basically - I will go down on the treadmill for a bit while watching the Travel Channel - Disney specials from 9am till noon :cool1: Then, I have some typing work to do - laundry- you know the deal! LOL :thumbsup2 Carm is working today, so, it's just me and the boys!

Hey Girls, how are the 'Bahama Mamas' today ?

Well Paul and I had a great time yesterday. We didn't get to Manchester till about 3.30pm, but we had a good wander around the shops. Paul bought me a lovely pair of Skechers sandals (I'll post a piccie later) and I bought Kerry a TinkerBell towel (for when she goes on holiday with her friends family) and I bought Becky a cute Stitch snowglobe

In the evening we went out for an Italian meal, it was delish. I had a mushroom lasagne and Paul had the meat lasagne, and we had filled potato skins and garlic bread - Mmm

We're really tired now, I think we'll be having a nap this afternoon :rotfl2:

Hey! It sounds like you had a really nice time! I LOVE eating out! I usually get some sort of sea food since I am really the only one who loves it all!

My friend does her grocery shopping online - then goes to Shoprite and picks it up - there is a $10 fee - sometimes there is a coupon on the Shoprite flyer for 1/2 off - but still - saves a ton of time - and once you go online and shop, it saves your 'basket' - so, you can just go back and click on what you need and you are done! She said the first time took a while to set it up, but, now, it takes her like not even 10 minutes to make the list, she sets up a pick up date/time - and they bring it out for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someday I am going to try that!! Like when I need to do a BIG shop - usually I am a piece shopper - so, it wouldn't be worth the $10! Enough grocery talk! LOL


I would love this!!! There just seems to be too much cutting in to my Bahama Mama time!

I think I need to get some crocs - I am going to look into that this week! The other night, we were shopping, when I bought my jeans - (that aren't as tight as I thought - must have been the mile on the treadmill yesterday! LOL) - anyway, they had all kinds in the store, so when I have NO kids w/me - I am going to take a look - maybe I'll try the maryjane types - I am not sure if I am a huge fan of the regular crocs though! MAYBE I should have Diane check the outlet for me?!??! :laughing:

I am known as the croc freak in my neck of the woods... I really prefer the Mary Janes over the the regular ones, but I wear them all!:lmao: When I heard there was an outlet I about had a heart attack! So did mark!!!:lmao:

I am trying to tidy up some more.. I have had the paper shredder going like crazy. My goal is to de clutter.. It is amazing how much stuff you can accumulate! All of the old papers I saved are getting shredded and recycled..

I HATE clutter - but I have it! LOL Shredding is a chore - at least w/my crappy shreader!! After a while of shredding it shuts down to cool off! Which goes to show how much crap is in our shredding pile!!

Sounds like I need to go check out the Croc outlet ( actually I need to see i it is a store or outlet) it is in an outlet mall. It is 5 minutes from my daughter's gym. and she is there 12 hours a week! I like the British version of a kip, here it is a move on the uneven bars that it took my daughter a long time to learn!!

I started my day cleaning the fish tank. I am now cleaning the kitchen ( with the TC on 2011 1n2 2012). Have to run around a bit. Help DD12 with making a purse out of old blue jeans and a old belt ( science assignment for Earthday). I suggested that she make a bird feeder out of a soda bottle! That was quickly vetoed!! I also have to try to help DD Niki with her HS chemistry since she has been sick all week. I have a degree in Chemistry, but haven't done it in years, I have been a web designer for over 10 years! It is sad, I don't remember hardly any of it!

Oh yeah and the dreaded taxes need to be done! I hate bookkeeping, I am really bad at it.

We have a friend of my son's staying with us next week, while his parents go to a dog show/conference/thingie. So, I felt the need to do some deep cleaning around the house. Between that and laundry, I haven't even left the house yet! It does feel good to see my table and counters again, though!:rotfl:

The weather here is kinda dreary, too. We might go see a movie later, maybe Leatherheads or Nim's Island.

We've had a super busy last several days. Thursday we had DH's grandmother's funeral in Pittsburgh. It was nice to see all of DH's extended family. His grandmother was Jewish and the service was mostly in Hebrew. The descendents are all Christian and although none of us really knew what was being said, it was nice. Brennan was even loudly singing along to a song (he loves to sing at church and is always off key) and the Rabbi asked him to come up and read a prayer from his Hebrew prayer book. Brennan loudly says "I don't know you people's words, I'm just singing words I know to the song." He has never in all of his 7 years said "you peoples" so I'm not sure where that came from.

We came home Friday evening and almost forgot that Keegan had a football clinic to attend from 6-9. He got there about 6:15 and loved it. Saturday both of the boys had baseball and Derek had to work in the evening. The boys had a couple of friends come over to play all afternoon.

Yesterday we went to church and then Keegan had practice for his all star travel team. The team has 12 boys from the regular spring league and they've been playing together each summer for about 5 years now. This year they are playing in a tournament in May so they started practice last month. Usually they don't start until the end of May and only play in June/July tournaments. As 8- year -olds they won several under 12 year old tournaments. The last 2 years they've made it to the state championships (and lost in the final round). Some of the teams they play have year round teams that travel, so they do well for only playing a couple of months together each year. Last year they played one team that even had indoor winter training facilities. The kids looked like robots--they had top of the line uniforms, matching embroidered bags and helmets like professionals--but didn't seem to even have fun. Our boys are lucky to all have white pants and cheapo printed t-shirts, but they play great and have a blast.

It would almost be worth getting a moderate and buying a 1 day pass (can you still do that?). We have annual passes so we'd have to buy no expiration tickets. Our DDP is going to cost about $800 in August.

I'm still shrugging off my work spreadsheets and figured out that free dining would begin in the latter half of our August trip. It would cost us:

$666.00 to stay in a value resort for 4 nights with free dining and 1 day tickets.

$965.00 to stay in a moderate resort for the 4 nights with free dining and 1 day tickets.

Our dining plan through DVC would be almost $500 without any tickets.

The best deal would be to stay in a value resort--we'd have to pay $166 more but we'd get 4 theme park tickets and not have to use any of our DVC points. I am not sure DH will go for it, but it's not a bad deal.

Does anyone know if you "have" to use the park tickets by check out or can we save them for another future trip? I tried to add no expiration into the quote but you can't do it for just 1 day. We have annual passes, so we wouldn't need them.

Dominic has the sports, and the carnival also - he has a lot of the Mario types too - he loves that WII!!!! The other BIGGIE that he loves to play is Guitar Hero!!!

Sorry if I missed anyone! We had baseball pictures with Bryan early this morning then I had a baby shower for Tom's cousin this afternoon. My BIL and nieces then came over for dinner so its been crazy today. I'm happy to report that Emily is doing much better without the binky:woohoo: . She whined a little when she was tired today but didn't even cry at bedtime tonight (although I did have to rock her to sleep in the rocking chair). Have a good Monday everyone!

We've had a super busy last several days. Thursday we had DH's grandmother's funeral in Pittsburgh. It was nice to see all of DH's extended family. His grandmother was Jewish and the service was mostly in Hebrew. The descendents are all Christian and although none of us really knew what was being said, it was nice. Brennan was even loudly singing along to a song (he loves to sing at church and is always off key) and the Rabbi asked him to come up and read a prayer from his Hebrew prayer book. Brennan loudly says "I don't know you people's words, I'm just singing words I know to the song." He has never in all of his 7 years said "you peoples" so I'm not sure where that came from.


There always seems to be be something "fuuny" that happens at a funeral. I think that is how we get through stuff... I think I would have gotten the giggles!

I'm here! I'm here! Emmy had OT and then lunch.. Now she is in for nappy time and Sarah is at my mom and dad's.. I have a quite house for a little bit!

I got some work done and managed to run out to Walmart and home with in an hour. Generally Walmart is packed to the point it takes forever to get a parking spot and check out alone. We have 2 SuperWalmarts with in 10 minutes of our house and they are usually packed around the clock. I was lucky on the way back the person in front of me hit a car turning and I managed to avoid them both. No one was hurt, but it was scary.

I'm still going to try and talk to Derek again about the free dining. I think an extra $166 is a great deal for 4 theme park tickets and not using any DVC points.

I talked to Derek again to try and convince him what a good deal it would be. He's only stayed at the All Star Movies one night before we got in the Beach Club Villas last October and the room was not in the greatest condition so he's afraid to try it again. I stayed in the same resort for one night last June and that room was in much better condition (that building may have been refurbished?) Then he said that the value resort towels were thinner?!? I offered to pack one from home! I've never noticed a difference in any of the towels. Then he started with "where else can you wake up and see animals from your balcony." To me it's just going to be a place to sleep and we'll be at the parks the rest of the time. I just have a hard time passing up a good deal. We could even use the extra DVC points to stay in a one bedroom instead of a studio in December.

I thought of booking a package just in case I can persuade him...I think I could get back the money up until a week before the trip.

Question, I'm not sure if anyone knows. I am booked at Pop already with Magic Your Way no dining. Of course i want to add the free dining but don't have the Visa so I have to wait to the 10th and hope for its available for Pop then. Is it better for me to add free dining now then switch it to free on the 10th or just try to call and do everything at once on the 10th? Never had free dining before and would love to try it! Derek called me when I was at Keegan's practice saying he'd be late and can I get Brennan to his baseball field where he'd meet me. I figured he had a late lock up, but he says he's got WDW reservations on the other line and is making reservations at Pop for us! He found out that we can apply the ticket prices towards our annual passes. So for $666 we don't have to use a single DVC point, we don't need to pay for dining and we get full ticket prices towards our annual pass renewals. It was going to be $495.84 for dining and DVC points for our original booking at AKV. The CRO CM said we get $75 towards the adult renewals and $60 something towards Brennan's.

Of course i want to add the free dining but don't have the Visa so I have to wait to the 10th and hope for its available for Pop then. Is it better for me to add free dining now then switch it to free on the 10th or just try to call and do everything at once on the 10th? Never had free dining before and would love to try it! Jen, what shoe size are you? I have size 8 celery Mary Janes I haven't even worn. I have black and chocolate brown Mary Janes that I wear a lot, but I haven't worn the celery ones at all. I have a pair of Mickey ones I got for Christmas from my sister, but they are too wide for me so I only wore those a few times. The boys both have Mickey crocs that fit real well for them.

Suzanne, I was teasing Derek about his towel whining! I guess getting over $250 towards our APs for $166 and not spending any DVC points twisted his arm. I told his whining sounded like the celebrities that require a certain thread count for their sheets or select M & M colors in their dressing rooms!

Yesterday I stopped in Linens and Things for a few towels and ended up buying DD7 a new comforter set!

Then I took DD12 and DD7 to the fabric store to get a zipper....it cost me $78.00!! DD12 ( Becca) has to make something new out of something old for Earthday so she decided to make a purse out of a pair of blue jeans. So we took a pair of jeans and cut them off and stitched the bottom together, then we took an old wide belt and took it apart so that the buckle was attached to the waist band and the end of the belt to the other side for a shoulder strap. She took a 2nd belt and fed it through the belt loops. I sewed in the zipper and a lining. It is so cute. But about the $78.00...I bought fabric for my FE..really cute Tink fabric and some bright corrordinating colors and iron-on letters and some patches. By the time I got done with that i could have paid for a finished one on EBAY!!

Then I found some other fabric for pillows to match the new comforter for the room that she doesn't even have yet! and I found some cool Disney stuff that may end up as magnets or in FE's. Then i got sucked into letting DD7 buy her 20th webkinz.

Derek called me when I was at Keegan's practice saying he'd be late and can I get Brennan to his baseball field where he'd meet me. I figured he had a late lock up, but he says he's got WDW reservations on the other line and is making reservations at Pop for us! He found out that we can apply the ticket prices towards our annual passes. So for $666 we don't have to use a single DVC point, we don't need to pay for dining and we get full ticket prices towards our annual pass renewals. It was going to be $495.84 for dining and DVC points for our original booking at AKV. The CRO CM said we get $75 towards the adult renewals and $60 something towards Brennan's.

Lauri, if you have a Dicks Sporting Goods store, they have a great variety of Crocs and I'd suggest trying them on to get a good fit. I can wear 7.5- 8's in almost any shoe and I have to wear an 8 in the Mary Jane Crocs and a medium in the beach style. I find the beach ones wider than I like so after the Mary Janes came out, I've been sticking with them. I found Surf and Dirt .com to be great to order from and they are very quick with shipping.

Jen, that's too bad the celery colored Crocs won't fit or I'd have sent them to you. I was awake from 5:30 thanks to my dog so I could have logged on but didn't want to wake everyone else in the house up.

Is anyone doing Planet Hollywood for dinner? With the WDW free dining package we got yesterday, it says we are getting a $15 voucher for dinner there we won't be using. I'm not sure if we will get it in advance or not of the check in, or if it's transferable, but thought I'd offer it.

I hate changing bed sheets (did it this morning) and ironing too. Derek's police uniforms come with heavy folds in the seams so I can get away with taking them out of the dryer and using Downy wrinkle release on them. I won't iron unless I absolutely have to do so. To this day my mom irons absolutely everything. I went to college and the first week my roommate caught me ironing my t-shirts and asked what the heck I was doing. I assumed everyone did it. I quickly realized how much easier it was not to do it. Our dress clothes go to the dry cleaners so they are always in nice condition. We have a pants press I sometimes use, but most of the time I just try and take it out of the dryer quick and hang them up.

Anyone know what a sea raycer is? I figured some kind of boat? The WDW package has a sea raycer offer, mini golf voucher, $15 off dinner to Planet Hollywood and a merchandise offer/discount to Planet Hollywood.

I still have to find some pictuers to send to Lauri too.

Hey Michele, well most of the bedding is washed and dried and back on the beds. Just the girls duvet covers still drying. I get them out of the dryer quickly and back on the bed, so I don't have to iron them :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Tom is home today but unfortunately I have tons of PTA stuff to do (I'm on a committee and our reading program starts on Friday) so he's being ignored (good thing the Mets are playing so he is occupied). I am off to go to the school and make about 1500 photocopies:scared1: After this month almost all of my PTA duties are done so I will be very happy!

Laurie is happy as of now the Mets are winning 1-0 but its still early!

Happy 13th anniversary Veronica!

I'm going into read for PTO Story Day in Brennan's class this Thursday. I've been debating what two stories to bring. I think I'll do "If You Take a Mouse to the Movies" and bring in some popcorn for their snack. Brennan's really into the Magic Tree house books, but I don't want to read a chapter book and have the kids fall asleep. Something short and sweet the kids would be intersted in. When Brennan was in Kindergarten, I read his class (which only has a few of the same kids in 1st) "If you give a Mouse a Cookie" and brought chocolate chip cookies in for a snack. This year they have a new health initiative and basically anything with sugar as an everyday snack is a no -no. They still allow cupcakes for birthdays, but that's about it. Anyone with a 6/7 year old have another good book? He's got tons of scholastic books.

This year they have a new health initiative and basically anything with sugar as an everyday snack is a no -no. They still allow cupcakes for birthdays, but that's about it. Anyone with a 6/7 year old have another good book? He's got tons of scholastic books.

Happy 13th anniversary Veronica!

I'm going into read for PTO Story Day in Brennan's class this Thursday. I've been debating what two stories to bring. I think I'll do "If You Take a Mouse to the Movies" and bring in some popcorn for their snack. Brennan's really into the Magic Tree house books, but I don't want to read a chapter book and have the kids fall asleep. Something short and sweet the kids would be intersted in. When Brennan was in Kindergarten, I read his class (which only has a few of the same kids in 1st) "If you give a Mouse a Cookie" and brought chocolate chip cookies in for a snack. Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes. We are married 13 years. Tonight my MIL is watching the kids and we are going out for a relaxing dinner...can't wait! Tom is home today but unfortunately I have tons of PTA stuff to do (I'm on a committee and our reading program starts on Friday) so he's being ignored (good thing the Mets are playing so he is occupied). I am off to go to the school and make about 1500 photocopies:scared1: After this month almost all of my PTA duties are done so I will be very happy!

Laurie is happy as of now the Mets are winning 1-0 but its still early!

Sorry I didn't get to chat earlier Sandy but I'm crazy today!

Well I officially found out today that I did not get the full time position in my building.:guilty: Ironically I was in that room subbing today as they asked me to sub in there on Tuesdays and Thursdays until the position was filled (I work in my own class MWF) Unfortunately someone in the district from another building with way more seniority wanted to transfer in and that is just the way it goes. I am a true believer in the things happen for a reason motto so I know this is no exception. I love the kids in my room and would have been sad to leave them with only 3 months left. Hopefully there will be more retirements soon:rolleyes1

We would like to join the FE fun. My DD14 is excited about making our own fish extender. Do you think things like the stuff from Oriental Trading would work for the little gifts? Are we doing something for every cabin every day, or every person every day, or is it whatever you choose?

We decided to stay at WDW for a few days after the cruise. It's so depressing to get off the cruise. I need something to look forward to.;) And we got two rooms with free dining at ASMo!! And, we decided to invite the boys to join us after the cruise! Aren't we nice!!

Work was nuts today. I did not get home until after 8:30! Just chilling out and watching American Idol now. Have a good night everyone!

Good Morning Bahama Mamas!!

I am off to work today - so, I will be on the boards a good portion of the day! Gotta love the fact that I have more time online at work than at home! :cool1: It's just that I sit in front of the computer ALL day there - when I am off, I am running around like a FOOL! ;)

The game was horrible - in more ways than 1! They lost, that was bad enough - the boys will have a rough day at school today! But, a fight broke out in our section, the cops finally come over, nothing happens when they are looking, Anthony got pegged in the head w/a ketchup packet - we happened to be 3 seats over from the 'phillies' fan that was the target - so, Ant was upset - he starts crying - I am screaming at the cops - they are shrugging their shoulders - like DUH - I understand they can't do too much - but, c'mon - at least go up and say something to the a**holes throwing stuff - so, needless to say - it was rough to say the least!! We've gone to the Phillies stadium to see them play the Mets and it's been less stress - So I was pretty upset w/the whole thing.. the only good thing is - I got a bit of color on my face! The sun was out and it warmed up - so, that was the plus!
