Only 28 more months to go! Need advice though!

Hello all,

First of all, I know I am a compulsive planner and I am getting help for it. :lmao: :rotfl:

My friend and I have been dreaming of going to DLP for years and now we decided that June 2009 will be it!:banana: This trip will be sans the kids and we will both be 40 by then!:scared1: We decided the Newport Bay Club is the hotel for us. While the Disneyland Hotel sounds grand, it's just not in the budget for us.

I have a couple of questions: How far in advance to advise us to book? Is it better to book a package or to buy the room and tickets separately? Is three days enough to see DLP in late June? Did I make good restaurant choices?

Here's our basic itinerary:
Day 1: arrive from USA, dinner at Cafe Mickey
Day 2: DLP, dinner at Walt's Restaurant
Day 3: DLP with dinner at Auberge de Cendrillon
Day 4: DLP with dinner at Lucky Nugget Saloon
Day 4: lunch at Disneyland Hotel and travel to Paris
Day 5-6: see the city of Paris
Day 7: go home:sad1:

Also, can you recommend a hotel in Paris? Or the neighborhood we should stay in? We are two "young" :rotfl: women travelling alone. All we require in a hotel is a clean room in a safe area, preferably near a Metro.

June 2009!!! Wauw hahaha you really do like to plan everything in advance :)

Ill try to help you as much as possible.

New Port is a great hotel but, perhaps you could spend all days at the
Disney Land Resort if you take hotel sequoia lodge.

Hotel sequoia lodge is a great hotel and I would advice you to take the
Montana Rooms. (a small extra charge)

Its better to buy everything in a package form and by calling Disney Land Resort Paris CRO.
(Central Reservation Office)

To be honest I would wait with your booking.
You never know if there will be a nice offer available in the future.

It all depends on your own taste but, I love Walt's Restaurant and The blue lagoon ( inside pirates of the caribbean )

You could stay all days in the Disney Hotel and could see Paris and come
back in the evening. (The Metro connection is great)

Unless things change, you won't actually be able to book DLP until early 2009! :hourglass It is very frustrating as you can probably book WDW years in advance. Anyway, we have just returned from a super break in Paris and stayed at the Hotel Wallace (Rue de Fondary). It is a few minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower and very close to several Metro stations. It has a shuttle to CDG airport. It had some poor reports from 'over the pond' but we found it to be perfect. Room 14 was allocated to us (it figures in the photos on the official site).

As poster says DLP does not allow you to book out so far in advance so end of 2008/early 2009 is when you would be able to book.

Three days would be enough since I'm sure you want to sample the delights of Paris also which you could easily spend a week at alone :)

I think you have some great choices for restaurants.

Have you ever been to Paris? or Europe? as I posted on another post, I woudl give more time to Paris and less to DLRP. Disney is only part of our world....

And as others have posted, you will only be able to book a few months in advance. It is not the frenzy of WDW, which makes a DLRP trip much nicer, in my mind. It is like the old days when one could walk up to a restaurant in WDW and make a booking for that day. Takes so much of the stress away from a vacation....

So spend time reading here, but I woudl also go to www.flyertalk.com and read the Paris forums there. Get some really good guidebooks and read up on those - you may see that you will want to spend more time in Paris itself..

Thanks all. The June 2009 trip is all about DLP. The following year I am taking the kids to Europe for the entire summer and we are going all over- England, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Switzerland. Thanks for the link. It will probably help when we all go.

The Newport Bay Club is a good choice. We enjoyed our stay there.

DLP and hotels in Paris do not book as far in advance as in the States.

As for Paris, I would first select an area (Arrondisement), then select a hotel. The St. Germain des Pres area (the 5th Arrondisement) is a favorite of ours. Many shops, cafes, restaurants, and walking distance to some popular sites, like Notre Dame.
