Does anyone have any recommendations about Clearwater Beach or Tampa restaurants. I've only heard that Charley's is good for steaks, Columbia for Cuban, and Frenchy's (which one?) is good at the beach. Thanks.

There are two sites you could look up for info. One is the Tampa CVB on www.visittampabay.com (http://www.visittampabay.com) and the other is the Florida beaches site on Look for the Restaurants link! (http://www.beachdirectory.com/main.html).

Having just come back from a trip to Tampa, I can heartily recommend the new-look Ybor City area, which has been redevloped with entertainment, nightclubs, shops and some great restaurants, including the excellent Big City Tavern. Not to be missed, IMHO.

We ate at Leverocks Seafood on Clearwater Beach. We have eaten there 3x and really enjoyed it. Nice, relaxed atmosphere & good food and service. While waiting for our table, we sat on the deck and watched some dolphins. They have a website-- Leverocks.com or Leverocksseafood.com, I think. Last time we printed a coupon from their website for a free appetizer or something. There are a couple of other locations in the Tampa-Clearwater area too.

We also ate at Leverocks for the early bird special and it was very good. I recommended it to a family member but the person they went out with wanted to go to Crazy Charlies or Wild Bills (something like that) and they said it was really fun.
