Yeah.
To Quebec in June.
And seen as I love packing/planning in advance I have a few questions.
It's a ten hour drive, I need some fresh ideas on what to do to keep myself entertained.
Something new and original because:

I'll have my MP3 but it only plays up to six hours.
My friend is bringing her DVD player.
And, of course, I'm going to have something to read. With the new It Girl book due out, I'll be reading that and some magazines.

Also, any food ideas?

Sure that would be great =)
We're staying in Quebec City, at a four star hotel, and we'll be touring Old Quebec and a bunch of other things like Mont Morency Falls.

I think the only time I'll be sleeping is on the way home because we'll be driving through the night very late. Then the next day I'll be sleeping until it's time for my brother's grad.

I'm afraid to sleep on the way there, sleeping on a bus of 50 kids = not safe. xD

We'll be on a bus, they have VCR's. But, I don't own any videotapes.

Very true :lmao: Are you going with your class? Thats what were doing but we only got 40 kids. We get to meet pen pals. Did you get a pen pal? ( sorry about all the questions ) It sounds like the same itinerary. We'll be visiting the musee de fort and eating at the sugar shack. Do you know if you'll be eating at the sugar shack? I've been looking up some places online to see what they look like and they look very nice.

Hmmmm.

My food reccommendations:

CAndy :D
my family always brings lots of candy and junk in car rides. (especially to florida!)
it keeps us from complaining :P:P
tootsie rolls are good.
and so are those chocolate "riesen" things.
because they are chewy and last a while.

And DVDs are always the best way to occupy my time, either that or music.
Or sleep.
But if you are going to be ona bus with 50 other kids, I doubt you'll get alot of sleep.

You guys could play like truth or dare or 20 questions or any of those other fun games.

I used to live in Quebec (Just outside of Montreal to be exact, on the west island)
It's a very lovely place, I miss it :(
I hope you have a great time!!!
And learn some french :D:D:D

Excuse me, come again? NO VIDEOTAPES? All our Disney movies are on tape, especially the "good ones" as my brother says... erm, anyways!

Food-- My favorite subject :)

I'd reccomend foods that are healthy, but you don't mind eating a lot of, like I LOVE Flamin' Hot Cheetos, but those aren't good to bring because you will find yourself when you are bored, eating like there's not tomorrow -- promise! When you have nothing to do, you're gonna eat, it just happens. So, bring something healthy. Also, keep in mind there's (I think you said 40??) other kids on there so you'll probably be able to trade and share... It does get tough if you are sitting by someone you think is your friend but ends up being someone who hates you... don't do that... not good... Back onto food-- WATER! TONS O' WATER!! It seems to get dry and stuffy on those buses, so water will cool you down and make you calm-er.... Try to get a window seat so if you want to rest your head on the window, or your hot (window's always cool-ish) you can...

Any more advice/helpish needed? I love to do this kind of stuff!!! :rolleyes1:surfweb:

Bring lots of DVD's for yuor player.
Listen to mp3
Eat food (Bring portioned foods like thr little bags of chips because when your bored you eat. It's better if the bags are only little)
Lots of liquid. Your favrotie kind...

Bring whatever you want, there is nothing worse than being on a 10 hour bus drive and regretting what you brought.

Hmm...
Let me start with stuff to keep you occupied.
MP3 is a good idea, whether you use it for listening or to drown out noise, with around 50 teens it'll be really loud
DVDs are really good, makes time pass. Just make sure you have good movies.
Handheld games are also very time consuming. These vary from the handheld classics like Candyland and 20Q to PSPs and Nintendo DS.
Books/Magazines are also good. Sometimes when I go on long trips I take a book I haven't read to many times, sometimes I take a couple of books. I also go and buy a new magazine that I haven't read. Really helps keep me occupied.
Sleep is also good, but may be very hard to get on the bus. Just in case, bring a pillow and blanket on board with you.
Camera, for those kodak moments on the way up and back.

Next, Food!
Your favorite chips, candy, or whatever other kind of food you like. Just keep it in small quantities so you don't hoard everything at one time. Same with drinks, whatever your favorite is, and some water.

Finally, keep it all in a duffel, if the duffel is large enough.

Have a great time!!!

Yes and make sure it is all together. Nothing worse than having all your stuff stolen...

Do you get to pick who you sit with? If so, make sure you sit with someone you like.. Totally awkward if not...

Yes, we're going as a class.
But not for penpals. The grade 7 class two years went to Quebec for that, but last year we just went to La Pay De La Sagouine to meet them. I have no idea where we are meeting this years though.
It's an educational trip, about 100 kids are going, two buses. I don't think we're going to the sugar shack, I assume that's a maple syrup place... we'll be going to a local one next week. It won't be open in June.

We're also having this like 'Disco Dance' on the St.Lawrence river =)

I've got lots of Disney movies, but my friend hates all the ones I have. If I could get my A Goofy Movie back, I'd torture her with that.

I've spent 16 hours on a charter bus of 50 people before. I don't know how I didn't go insane. I slept a lot. we played cards. I slept. we sang songs. I slept. we listened to music. then I slept.

Are you going through a company who runs trips?
whats it called?

the only reason I'm asking this is because my french class was going to go on a trip that sounds exactly like this, but we didn't get enough people signed up, so we had to cancel it.
