Anyone Going Next Year in 2008?

We've been planning this trip, to go with my sister and her family, for 5 yrs. I'm bummed though, that we will miss out on this years "million dreams" theme. I am excited to be going though. :cutie:

I wonder if they will do anything special next year?

Well, I am sure we will be going in 2008. We juat haven't planned it yet. Usually we go in July, but I want to take a workshop in New York City for teachers that teach theatre and it's held in July. So if we do go in 2008, it will probably be in August. We're definitely going in 2009 - and staying at the GF. It will be my DD's 5th birthday. (OK - I'm planning ahead for that one!)

WE are going July 2008 for nephews Disney wedding!!!!!! We can't wait. He is going down in May (after college graduation) to meet with the wedding planner and look for apartments because him and his finace are moving there. He has already applied for a couple internships with Disney (he is a seasonal CM right now) And his Finace has already got her Forida teathing license. !!:) I am sooo EXCITED for them

I'm not 100% certain, but I'm hoping to go in 9/08. I don't know what the next promotion will be after YOAMD. Epcot's 25th anniversary is coming up, but it doesn't sound like WDW is planning anything special for that.

We are going in April of 2008 for DS 5th birthday. I still don't know where to stay its between CR, WL or POFQ.

We are planning on going May 2008. We probably won't start any of our planning till after summer though. I am going to try to go through Dreams Unlimited since I've heard excellent things about them. This will be our first trip in 20 years and our son's first trip ever. He will be 6.

I wouldn't feel too badly about missing YOAMD - we just returned from a week-long stay and other than a mom and daughter who had "The Ultimate Fast Passes" we didn't see or hear ANYTHING "dreamy."

We are!! Still deciding on resort for our trip...really dont want to pay deluxe room prices...especially when I know I can rent a beach cottage/villa in the Bahamas for about $1500!!!

Thinking CSR....CBR has a big refurb going on at the main pool til June...would be cutting too close for our trip ..example...current status of pool at WL :(

I'm going to be going from December 28, 2008 to January 2, 2009, so I'll be there for New Years! I'm going there as an early birthday present from my family... yes, I already know my 2009 birthday present is!

We'll be going once or twice in 2008. Haven't started planning yet. We're focused on a trip to New York in May and our 3 week Disney trip/cruise this coming October. But we are 100% sure about going in 2008 :)

NO. NOt excessive at all!!!! We are goign in JUne 2008 for DD's 8th birthday. We already have planned out all the character meals we want to have and some of the other places we want to eat. We also have our first day in MK strategy mapped out!! As well as what we want to see in each park.

We are ordering the free maps so we can really have a good "game plan".

Meanwhile DH wants to hear nothing about it! He says it is way too early to paln. I think he just does not get it. We live right by Six Flags over Texas and have season passes there. We are there at least 3 times a week during hte summer. I really think in his mind WDW is much like Six Flags, except with Disney instead of WB. I can't wait to show him it isn't. SFoT has got nothing on the Disney magic. Though I can't betray my home park completely, SFoT does have some awesome coasters.

I so love that I found a place with people as obsessed (if not more) than I am about getting to the World. YOu guys rock! :love:

that funny my dh doesnt want 2 here anything about 4 trip in june this year we cant even tell him were we r staying and when were going until a month before and were going this year june 2007 we may go in 2008 if my dd get accepted 2 power pak again which is the ultimate dance program she got accepted this year bit going 2 myrtle beach instead of wdw her team really needed a break by the way do not stay at swan or dolphin diring july 1 - july 8 2007 or 2008 because theres a power pak there a dance convention and thats were ALL the girls stay and there about 500 girls and 700 parents there so i dnt reccomend that if u dont want 2 be around many girl and about 10 boys lol and lots of parents ussualy only mom comes but in r family dad comes 2 well lol ds hates that he has 2 come even though he loves wdw lol well this is all i can say lol

OK. We were supposed to go in June of 2008, but we may end up holding off until August of 2008. Don't know yet. BUt it will be sometime in the summer of 2008. Sometime during the summer of 2008 I will be at POP. I will float in the hippy dippy pool. I will watch my kids splash in the pop jets. And I will avoid the Haunted Mansion at all costs becasue it scared the snot out of me when I was 8!!!! (Still scarred from that one.) I will force my kids to endure It's A Small World just as my mom did me because it was my mom's favorite ride. I will let my kids ride what they want as much as they want becasue after all, this trip is for them!!( yeah, righ) I will drag my kids to meet every character we can because I did not get to when I was a kid. And above all I will not freak out that it is about than 500 days out and the rest of the family going can't settle on a new date!!!! Come on already family, we need to make those ressies!!!!! I need confirmation that I am really going! I need to have proof that I really will finally get to meet Mickey.


I have been trying to get to the World since DD was born. I told DH we are going next year. That is it. Befoer the kids get to that age where they are "too cool" for the magic. Though my kids are 4 and 6 right now and total coaster addicts so they might be like me and never outgrow it. They ride all that they are tall enough for at Six Flags here. I showed them pictures of Bigh Thunder Mountain RR and they are so much more excited now.

We've been back from our 1st trip for only a few weeks, but we've all been dreaming of going back since we got into the car to drive home!

We decided on the dates (2/8/08-2/16/08) and we're going back to Pop (the kids LOVE it). We'll be booking as soon as the '08 rates come out, and I'm already thinking of ADR's so that 180 days out I can make the call! Our last trip was kind of spur of the moment and planned in 45 days, so I'm new to this waiting a long time stuff....

We went in May of 2005 with our DS8 and DD2 at the time. I wish we could go every year - but we just can't afford it. pixiedust: I talked my DH into it then because we could save money with a child's pass for DS and with DD free! My DH is not a big Disney fan. So, I was surprised when he said that we would probably take the kids back again maybe in four years! :lmao: Tee Hee Little does he know that I am secretely planning a trip for 2008. :joker:

I have a SIL that likes Disney as well. We only get to see my brother and SIL once a year at best since we live far apart. So, I am thinking of trying to get them to plan a family trip with us for 2008. That way, it might be easier to get my DH on board. Ain't I sneaky! :blush:

Yes. Little does DH know that I am plannig anoter trip already (have not even done the first one!) for 2011 when DS is 8. I figure we go when DD is 8 we jsut have to be fair to DS. Then well we just have to have another trip in 2014 becasue I will turn 40. What better reason to go!

It's not excessive at all -- we are planning a February 2008 visit with my sister and family and I can't wait. Unfortunately, I am a planner and she is very much a NON planner, so we'll see how this works. We've been to Disney before with their family and a great time was had by all. I just don't feel like vacation is a definite until the reservations are made and I can count down the 180 days for the ADR's. IS it excessive or obsessive or whatever that I have already started a pre-trip report to post later? We are not even going until JUne 2008. I already have the travel details... I already have a loose plan of attack for the parks. i already have detailed which TS places to make ADR's and when.

My husband brought home this plastic case that holds a few clear plastic binders. They were throwing them our at work he said. I thought AWESOME! Something to organize my trip stuff in!!!! But alas he intended them for a porject he and DD are working on. Does he not know that something like that would be perfect for me????? FOlders for each park, for ADR's complete with menus, for travel details, for resort details... for everything????? The nerve bringing home someting so perfect for what I need and using it for himself and DD!:sad2:

:idea: Now I have an excuse to go shopping and get some of the Disney themed stuff from my local scrap store! I need it for my planning book!!!!! OK. Nevermind DH, you can keep that plain plastic thing for you guys, mine will me chock full of pixie dust!

Okay. Our plans have changed a bit drastically this morning. We had planned on staying at one of the All Stars hotels in May. Well we were able to get a timeshare for May 11-17th, 2008. I really didn't want to stay offsite, but it will be about $200 for the entire week for us. So as much as I want to stay onsite, for that price I can't pass it up. :thumbsup2 Oh and it is only 3 minutes from WDW!

I asked DH tonight exactly how much vacation he gets! Everytime I go to price things out I find if I jsut make a few changes here and there I can get another day in there!!!

OH, DH has no idea we are going to be there for 7 nights yet. He won't until he requests his vacation time. By then it will all be paid for!

My nephew just found out that his orchestra will be at Disney April 3-8. So at least me and his mom will be going then. His dad does not like to go during peak season, and one of his sisters does not want to go then because it will be over her birthday. I can't believe she doesn't want to celebrate her birthday at Disney! I would love to be at disney for my birthday! I have also been planning a trip for over the 4th of July at the Poly, but I have to sit and figure out if I can really afford to do both in such a short period of time.

We went on our first trip in Oct 2006, during the Million Years and it made our trip sooooooooooooo special. Alot of great Million Years things happen to make our trip magical. But we are planning a trip for Oct 2008 ( my husband is a Firefighter and that is our schools fall break all he guys on his shift want fall break, so they have to rotate.) I was a little worried about the next trip not being as special, but we are palnning other things to make it different. BBB, downtown disney and Universal. Any time with all of together and my husband not at work is so special! I can't wait to get reservations and ADR. Goodluck to everyone with your planning!:hourglass
