We bring our own food and we buy at Disney. Mostly, we buy at Disney.

We have used the DDP once, but mainly just budget for our dining at Disney OOP. We don't tend to bring our own food (other than granola bars for b'fast and bottled H2O) or eat offsite.

For DVC stayers this is a trick question. We plan to eat about half our meals in the unit and the other half at Disney. I selected 'buy at Disney' since that is where the majority of our food budget will be spent.

We travel with 2 adults 2 kids both under 4

I usually go for 7 days our last was 14

Budget

Drive
annual passes
we go as often as possible... what we spends very much depends on what we are there for.

I love the dining plans flexibility and the ability to pay it in full before the trip.. I will buy the dining plan if I need to

We found that it's so much cheaper for us NOT to do the dining plan. We stay DVC, so we buy our own food for breakfast at Publix before we get there. Some days we skip lunch. If we do eat lunch, we usually get two meals to split between us. Something about the heat takes away our appetites. Or maybe we just don't want to stop having fun to eat. We always do a sit down dinner in the parks or in a hotel. And we rarely buy any snacks except for water. If we bought the DDP, we would have so many unused credits, especially CS and snacks.

Although we don't own DVC we usually stay at a DVC resort and therefore we eat most meals in the villa. Our upcoming trip this Easter we will only be in Disney for 4 nighst because of a split stay in Tampa. Because of this we decided to try the DDP. We figured if we didn't care for it, it wouldn't be that much of a loss since we won't be there that long.:confused3

I voted Dining Plan, but we also pay cash for a few extra table service meals. Right now we're at 11 meals for 8 nights, so 3 to pay for.

hmm I voted for "Dining plan" but we also had food delivered.

Milk, bread, fruit, pop tarts, cans of chips and water were delivered.

We brought PB, Jelly, Cereal, fruit roll ups, and a few other "Snacky" foods packe din a hard sided cooler on wheels with a FTA lock on it.

THe cooler was filled with ice every morning and every night and our milk stayed fresh for our entire 6 days there.

We stayed at the values and we didn't spring for the fridge.

The cooler served as a perfect place to put our dirty laundry on the way home, then we could put new souveniers in the luggage LOL!

We spend about $6000. Which includes our hotel, tickets, food, souviners. There are 5 in our family: myself, husband, 4yo,6yo,9yo. We usually stay for 6 nights in a Deluxe hotel. We use the dining plan because we avg. a savings of $200 by doing this. We drive because we are only 7.5hrs away. Ticket: MYW with park hopper. We go once a year, but we are considering heading our west to Disneyland for 2008 vacation.

I don't have an option in the poll, but here's what we do.

Since we stay DVC and have a full kitchen, we grocery shop for some snacks, breakfast and lunch items. We always stock up on juice, soy milk, and beer.

We usually stay about a week and do DDP, along with using the DDE card for the balance of meals not covered under DDE. We also eat some meals in our unit.

I'm really confused by the OP. There are several threads with the same OP, but different polls. I'm assuming that you are really only looking for the answer each thread that the poll is about; or at least that is how I'll answer.

Your poll here doesn't really have what we do as an option. We have a car. We tend to buy snacks & drinks that we keep in the room when we get there. We have in room breakfastes (mostly, an occasional character meal breakfast) and bring some of the food with us as snacks. We also eat snacks in the room with this food.

We also tend to go offsite for a dinner or two each week. Mainly to escape the insanity of the parks.

The rest of our meals and some snacks are eaten onsite. We go every year and purchase APs, which gives us admission for two trips. We now purchase DDE and get 20% off most those meals. We also tend to combine meals (late lunch-early dinner) and then have an extra snack.

We end up spending no more at WDW than we do at home on food & snacks for our family of 5.

Sorry it is confusing you. You are right just answer for that poll and make a comment for that poll if you want or need to. There are 8 questions total. If I could have made a poll for all the questions on one I would have, but it wont let you. I initially started it from another thread that asked how much you spend at Disney and people were just answering and I wanted tallys because I am a numbers person.

So sorry if it is confusing. I did put all the questions on my blurb(to hopefully connect them- I should have done it a little differantly), but if you look at each question -"How much money do you spend at Diseny?" with the exception of the first one they all have the question # beside it.

OBTW you can post for that poll what you spend the most money on eating at disney or bringing food from home. Or just not poll for that one and do as you do. Maybe I can change it and put that as an option? Does anyone know? I can't seem to see that option.

How much do you spend on a Disney vacation? Around $1600-$2000 per trip-not including tickets or hotel

How many people? (including infants) 2 Adults 2 kids (11 and almost 4)

How many nights? Normally 6 night, but last year we did 10 and this summer we are doing 10 again, BUT we stay in the budget

Which catagory? (deluxe, moderate, budget, campground, DVC, offsite) DVC..that's why the answer to #1 was lower because our DVC (hotel is already paid for

Disney dining plan or bring your own food, or buy at disney? We do all 3 but at different times. 10 day stays are split stays. For the 4 days in a studio we do the dining plan. The 6 days in a 1 bedroom villa we buy Disney and cook a little too.

Drive or fly? 90% of the time we drive

What type of tickets? (base, hopper, water, no expiration or annual passes)10 day park hopper, Non Expire, w/ water parks..we stretch it out over a few years and save on the cost of the tickets

How much do you spend all inclusive? (all catagories plus spending, pets, car rentals, etc.) Same as answer #1. I can't really include the DVC, but the $1600-$2000 includes tips, souveniers, other activities, gas, on the road meals.

How much do you go? (once a yr., twice a yr., 3x a year, 4x a year, 5xplus a year, every other year, every 3 years, every 4 years, every 5 years, once in a lifetime or you think)
Pretty much once a year. But occaisionally may throw in another trip. This year we went for Xmas as well as summer.

Look below- i changed to my personal answers...
How much do you spend on a Disney vacation?
so far, the past 2 we paid for-$2000-2400 TOTAL, including EVERYTHING down to souvenirs and snacks. The $2000 trip was for 5(4 on the grounds) nights, the $2400 was for 6 nights

How many people?
2 s, 2 kids b/t 3 and 10 years old

How many nights?
4 day and 6 day trips, but next year it will be a 9 day trip!

Which catagory? (deluxe, moderate, budget, campground, DVC, offsite)
value- in the off season w/ a discount-both times we paid $55 a night

Disney dining plan or bring your own food, or buy at disney?

bring our own breakfast except for the mornings we did a character b/fast-which was once per trip, but we did one other character meal also, brought a small cooler in our backpack with ham and PB sandwiches for most of the days, but not all, and ate at the hotel or park all other times- brought snacks and water everyday

Drive or fly? we drive 10 hours. We flew 2x-once for MAW, but that trip was not on our dime, it was a gift for DD9

What type of tickets? (base, hopper, water, no expiration or annual passes)
In the past, we always got PH with an automatic no expiration- now ticket pricing is different and so the next time (2008) we are getting PH only

How much do you spend all inclusive? (all catagories plus spending, pets, car rentals, etc.) $2000-$2400, our next one is for 9 nights and we are looking at a $3000 trip-going to eat out as much as my budget will allow!

How much do you go? (once a yr., twice a yr., 3x a year, 4x a year, 5xplus a year, every other year, every 3 years, every 4 years, every 5 years, once in a lifetime or you think)

in the past it has been every year and a half- since we want to go longer next year there will be a 3 year gap to SAVE!!!

pbharris4 -I used your template and re-answered the questions with MY answers! Thank you! Hope you don't mind.

I voted for "Buy at Disney", but wanted to add that we buy the DDE Card (because I'm a Passholder) and then get 20% off a lot of our meals (most TS places).

WE are buying the DDP because it is a good value and then we don't have to worry about food since it will be mostly paid for.

Last years trip was $5000 total for 8 nights at Poly for me, DH DD5 and DS2.

This year with discount for Poly the Pkg. is $3569 for 8 nights, 7 day hoppers and dining plan, which includes DS since he will be 3 by time of travel.

We are driving most likely, so add $200 for gas and $100 for hotel on way down.

Also pet kennel for dog is about $150 (includes bath)

extra meals or snacks $100

Souvenirs I figure $200

Also we are getting tickets to MNSSHP and that will be $150

TOTAL=$4369  DH will not see this, even if it's a good deal.

We usually go yearly or every 2 years at most. Of we fly it will be about $1000 but then I can take off the $100 hotel and driving gas so it will be $700.

5 people total, my husband, myself, kids:3,1(almost 2), and 6 months.
We stayed at the value.
6 nights 7 days
We fly cause we are in ca
we did the dinning plan cause it was so fun not looking at prices and we saved 350 dollars.(AND GAINED 4 POUNDS< JOINING WEIGHTWATCHERS ON MONDAY...)
7 day park hopper
we did the dvc open house when we went so we got 75 dollars in gift cards which helped on the t-shirts and mickey hats for the kids
so total we spent 2400 for package with air and dinning then add on the 75 dollars to park car and food at the airports and extras at disney, and gas to the airport(BURB IS A GAS HOG)
so 2700. Well worth it! plan on goin next yr or the following yr.

I didn't respond to the poll, since we buy at WDW and bring. We are DVC and although we're usually in a studio, we bring breakfast for everyday, plus some snacks. We bring fruit, yogurt, a loaf of bread and some peanut butter. For snacks, we bring some nuts and some sort of treat.

We save a lot of money by eating breakfast in the room, plus I like starting the day off with a simple, quick, healthy breakfsat. I think it makes my day go better.

For our WDW purchases, we have DDE and save money that way.
