View Full Version : Splash Re-Opens 5/19, TSI/Pirates Lair on 5/26, & Fantasmic on 6/1

MP has been reporting Splash to re-open in "early May" and Fantasmic in "late May". This is the first time they have been this specific.

FWIW, MP usually has as good of information as anyone, with some inside connections to the Disney company. If I was planning for a May trip, I would trust this info.

Note the projected Splash re-opening would coincide with the POTC premiere on May 19. The TSI/Pirates Lair would open on May 26 to coincide with the release of the POTC 3 movie (on May 25). Fantasmic uses TSI and depends on Disney finishing the work there, and re-opens the following weekend. With the caveat that all of the above is true.

Wish we could go soon, but we'll have to wait until next fall/winter. (DH is just getting his real estate appraisal company off the ground and business is just now picking up.) But with the addition of the new Nemo ride and Pirates Lair, we have some new things to look forward to - AWESOME!:yay:

Enough Splash closings already. . .dang. . .as a pass holder I find it offensive that they have to close splash every year. The last closing was MAJOR. Thankfully this one is only the typical minor closing. . .

Try running you car for 12-15 hours a day, 365 days a year. without maintaince ^_^ Hard hard hard. Cant blame them. Unless you want a ride to go down like every day for blah problems that can be fix in rehab.

I sure hope they dont wait until 6/15 to reopen fantasmic....I want it to open 6/1....oh please oh please oh please....

If Splash Mtn is (tentatively) due to re-open May 19th, in this case.... why is mid May, repeatedly being called early May by several online sources?

Now they are saying May 19. MousePlanet does not know everthing and could be wrong. In my experience over the last couple years they are usually right. Another twist is that Disney can change their minds.

Another question: once Fantasmic does restart, does it run only on weekends like in Winter? Ditto Electrical Parade -- would it run only on Fri-Sat-Sun as well? Or do they run it nightly during the summer and if so, when do they begin doing so?

As you get later into June they do the same thing, but I do not know about early June. It will for sure run on Fri/Sat/Sun all June.

Oh yah, the DEP will run once a night during the times I posted above. And probably on weekends in early June at a minimum.

*sigh* booked my trip in early may hoping splash would be opened. guess I'll miss splash this trip.

I can now confirm that the primere IS on May 19th.

There is also another private party on April 22. I dont know what is happening that day.

Hi,

We were planning on going to Disneyland May 6-10, but just found out that Splash Mountain was closed so we thought about changing our plans to May 20 - 24, but are concerned that it would be alot more crowded - what do you think? I have to confirm airline tickets tonight, so I'm really trying to figure it all out.

Will May 20-24 be swamped because the premiere of Pirates 3?

Not to mention there will be a HUGE Star Wars Convention in Los Angeles this weekend. I know because I'll be coming for that, and many of us Star Wars fans are huge Disney fans as well (must be that Star Tours thing...:yay: )
Expect big crowds for those SW fans before and after or during the convention.
