Hi all! I read on a post on another board that shirts made with iron on transfers cannot be put in the dryer. I have never made my own shirts before but was planning to for my summer trip and would like to know whether this is true or not? I have read about prewashing/drying the shirts before applying the transfer, but afterwards can I treat the shirt as I would any other? Should I wash it on any certain setting? Dryer or air dry? Thanks for any help you can give!:goodvibes

I have always put mine in the dryer, and I haven't had a problem. I'm not sure if I have just been lucky, though. I wash mine with the regular wash and tumble dry medium along with everything else. I do turn them inside out.
I'll go check the directions on the transers to see if it says. I hope you get some more answers, too.

All the instructions I have seen is do NOT use fabric softener. You want to wash & dry the shirts before doing the iron-on without using any type of fabric softener. Most people then iron-on and don't wash them again until after wearing them at Disney.
When you do wash them after the iron-on, wash the shirts inside out. I believe they suggest you still not use any fabric softener. However, I just wash them normally with everything else (except for being inside out). Mine have been washed 8-10 times and are just a little faded.
I use the dark transfer paper for everything because it stands up better than the light.
