Hi! First off I don't know if this has ever been done, or if it is OK (Mods, if not, please delete:) ). Me and my family will be traveling to WDW in Sept. I have gone back and forth or renting or bringing a double stroller. Both have benefits! But I really don't want to spend $100- $200! Anyway, I thought that if I bought a double, maybe I could set up a swap. My only problem is that I would want to make sure I had others lined up to pitch in on the cost. To make it more appealing, I would post a poll with several models, your recommendations and mine, and the highest vote would be the stroller we'd purchase.

So, My dates are Sept. 21-27, 2007.

If anyone is interested, let it be known. If there are some out there that would like to participate a month or so earlier, perhaps we could find a way to make that work too. Maybe we could have it delivered to their resort for pick up?:confused3

I don't know if this will work, so let's just see what kind of response we get!

I'm not sure what you mean? Do you want to buy a stroller to take and then leave it there for others to use as well? And everyone goes in on the price as well?

Yes! That is unless someone needs it earlier, then I think it can be shipped to their resort for them. Then they would meet the next person and pass it off.

I just thought of this earlier and I've seen other stroller swaps on here. I know that a double can be expensive and I also know that I won't use it at home (my 5 yo DD will only ride in it occasionally at WDW). Surely there are others out there facing the same situation?

I was in the same situation last year.

I ended up buying the stroller and flew down with it.

Then while in Florida, I put an ad on the orlando craigslist for someone to buy it. I was able to unload it in Florida on my last day.

second week. I might be interested. I would need a double as well. Right now our plan is to rent one.

I'd be interested too. We'll be coming in on Sept 29th and staying through Oct 9th. We'd need a double too. I'd recommend a large jogger style with a parent tray and a basket underneath.

And I'd suggest looking on your local Craigslist or the Orlando craigslist to see what was available.

this has all the features but the price is steep. I just sold my brand new double jogger for $100...sigh...

If you guys have a used kids store near you, it would be worth looking there. The used store by us has nice double strollers for around $40.

I would be interested also. I would probably need a larger double stroller for my 2 year old and my 5 year old. We are going in April.

I have a suggestion for a double stroller alternative if your children are older (I would say older than 2). For our 2006 trip, I purchased a Joovy
Caboose, which is like a sit and stand, but I preferred it over the sit and stand model. I bought it specifically for the trip and am planning on selling it at my summer yard sale. I was a life saver and I saw children of all ages using this. Mine are older (2 and 6 at the time of the trip) and it worked out great! PM me if you have any questions!

I was wondering this too. We're not going until June but....I'm somewhat handicapped (leg braces), hubby too (he will be using ECV) and we will bringing our three nephews. I'd like to have a stroller I can bring back to the resort as well.
