Maybe I am looking in the wrong place, but I thought there be be more on this board about the Mardi Gras Concerts. I went to the first one and also went last noght to Huey Lewis and the news. Very impressed with HUey Lewis and also the crowd. I think the rain and weather hurt the Los Lonley Boys concert, although I was entertained. Who do you see drawing the biggest crowds, the rest of this year's schedule?

Daughtry. I think it's going to be a zoo--and I wish I could be there!

Hmmm. Yeah, I definitely think the American Idols will draw a pretty big crowd. Daughtry will probably have the largest crowd. Although, I can see Sean Paul with a large crowd since he performed last year, too.
And then KC & the Sunshine Band always draws a crowd, so I think the remaining nights will be pretty packed.

I so can't wait for Taylor!
I'll have to brave the Soul Patrol though, yikes!

Huey Lewis drew a HUGE crowd, more than what I or Docbosch expected. I also didn't realize how many songs Huey Lewis had that were on the radio.
It was a very good and very fun show.
Sean Paul will have an "interesting" crowd drawn. Security is going to need to really check the bags of those entering the parks that night. Otherwise there might be a large green cloud covering the boneyard area. :rolleyes1

Sean Paul, no doubt. The only concert I personally have any interest in whatsoever.

Weed, man, weed. Weed, trees, pot, mary jane, wacky tabacky, etc.
His song We Be Burnin is all about it. Many of his songs have references as well. The "Green Cloud" would be from all the baked fans.

I went to the Taylor Hicks concert last night - my big mistake was buying the VIP passes for annual passholders. ($15.00 per person) On the website it said that it had a premier viewing area for the parade and concert, had a designated server and included 2 drink coupons (beer or wine) per person. The viewing area was a blocked off area BEHIND everyone else viewing the concert, so basically we got to stand in the very back behind everyone else who didn't pay the extra money. The way they set up the area, the fencing towards the street didn't extend all the way across the sidewalk, so the viewing for the parade had crowds of people in front of it as well. I never did see a designated server the entire night, but dh had no problems turning in the coupons for beers from the bartender. After about the 3rd song a large crowd crashed down part of the fencing to the VIP area and huge amounts of people swarmed in, so not only could we not see Taylor Hicks on the stage (because we were so far back behind all the crowds) But my ds7 couldn't even see the big screens set up beside the stage, and we ended up leaving part way thru the concert :sad1:
So - to annual passholders - save your money on the VIP areas - the premier viewing area is in the worst spot and you'll have a MUCH better view for free in front of it.
