We are scheduled to be at WDW the first full week in March and we have never been there this time of year. What should we expect as far as crowds and temperatures?

Most schools that "celebrate" Spring Break don't begin until the second week of March. So overall there shouldn't be much in the way of crowds during that first week of March.
Big question marks on the weather. We're at the mercy of cold fronts throughout the winter and March is the same way. Most days should be sunny and temps in the 80's. However a cold front will bring (usually) one day of clouds and rain unless the thing stalls on top of us! A passing front brings cooler weather behind it but clear skies and bright sunshine. We had a front pass this weekend that brought us a freeze warning yesterday and only mid-50's today with lots of sun, but we'll have mid-60's Monday, mid-70's Tuesday and close to 80-degrees by Wednesday. March will be warmer than this with fewer cold front activity.

Just so you are aware that 1st weekend in March is EPSN weekend at MGM so expect them to be busier than they would normally be! I'm very excited about this. You can go to www.espntheweekend.com and look at the list of athletes! I'll be there that weekend and the following week! Have a great time! I'm praying for GREAT weather and Little lines!! :) :cool1:

We will also be there then (actually arriving 3/3 and leaving 3/11); the other two times we've gone have been in the same time frame and the weather was BEAUTIFUL! Not horribly hot and not too cool - crowds seemed quite manageable, so I'm hoping for the same thing this trip.
So, should we plan on swimming at the resort or will it be too cold for that? I look at the weather report & I realize it's going to be so hard to pack!! I'll need something for every type of weather!

When we were there in 2003, not only did we swim in the hotel pool, we spent a day at Typhoon Lagoon. And we're planning a day at Blizzard Beach for this trip too.

the forecast looks good - we are there the 3rd --17th. The evenings are cool so pack fleece and a wind jacket and that should be good. The pools are all heated and realisitcally, anything 70+ is going to seem HOT to us northerners!!
Swimming sounds great then!! I just bought my DD 18mo & DS 4 matching Nemo bathing suits at Target. So cute!! I figured I could use them for the Goofy jets at Pop, if nothing else! :)
