well, I don't know how it happened, but I have called 3 times in the last few weeks and asked if there is a code by my name and been told... NO!:sad2: So, we planned on going at the end of March anyway. I call today to price the ASM suites, and she tells me I have a 40% off code!!!!!!:cool1: It's not for my dates though, but we could change dates if needed.... so instead of booking, I told her I would call back after I look at the calendar.... so now it's back to square 1!! Not that I mind, I love to plan, and am super thrilled to get the code, but I don't know why the other CM's told me no code!!! Oh well.....I am off to look at some other dates!!!!:woohoo:

Disney would tend to follow the lead of most direct marketers and stagger the release of discount offers .. sending them out to more people if the initial response doesn't meet the company's target for the promotion.

So more than likely.. you did receive the code.. only recently. The CM should be able to tell you if it was a mailed postcard or an email... and to which address it was sent regardless.

Check when you call back -- but it's been posted on these boards that the ASMu suites are not available under the 40% off code. This would be a great time to double-check that rumor.

I didn't know you could call and ask if you've been tagged for any codes. I thought I had to have a copy of the email or postcard. Thanks for the tip.

Congratulations-that is great.

Is this a random thing or are only certain people able to get the code? I want a 40% code too!!!

If we change our dates to June 3rd, I can get the AS resorts for $111.00/ nite. We would need 2 rooms because the suites are not valid in the 40% off. If we go in Dec, (16th) I could get Pop for $65.00/ nite...still getting 2 rooms. The mods were $105/nite in June, $95.00/nite in Dec. These are not the only dates that the code is available, just the dates that work for our work/school schedules. I am still thinking of going on my original dates in March, because we went in early June last year, and we were so hot that we were miserable and really did not have a very good time, and the Dec. dates are so close to x-mas that it would probably strain us financially and stress me out with all the x-mas activities that will be going on. Plus 1 in our group (future son-in-law) is planning on joining the air force in May, so that would leave him out,and we really want to take him... he has never been! So, now I am really torn, and have to make up my mind!!!! Thanks!!!!:cool2:

So if I understand right 111$ a night is for 2 rooms?

When I asked about the Airline Discount the Cast Member told me I couldn't get the DDP added on? Is this the same for others? Shouldn't you be able to get the room discount taken off and still be able to get the DDP plan?

Just curious, did you get a code? I see you are from Fredericton. I received one but another friend from Fredericton did not. We too are now guessing this whole thing is random. Look how small a region Fredericton is!

No, you can not stack discounts. I'm an AP holder, but every time we've gotten the dining plan I've had to give up my AP room discount and pay rack rates in order to get the dining plan. This is both when we've gotten the DDP free (Sept '05 and Sept '06) and when we've purchased it.

Well, getting the DDP and a discounted room really isn't stacking discounts. There are certain discounts that you can get such as the 40% off and AAA that have the ability to be turned into a package with the DDP. It all depends on the restrictions placed on the particular discount.

:confused3 I have the discount code on three different rooms at two different times of the year and all have the DDP. We are paying full price for the tickets and DDP and getting the 40% off of the rooms. Im not sure what the problem is but I would speak to someone else. There isn't any reason why you can't get the Dining Plan and the discount.

Yes, we got the 40 % off and the dining plan too (paying for the dining plan - well worth it!!.)
I have read that some codes will let you and others wont..so that may be the problem.
Goodluck!

I am so happy for all of you getting a code. I wish I would finally get one though. I want one for our december trip (dec 9-15) but I am afraid to call CRO more than once asking if I have a code.....

don't be afraid to call themmany times to check on a code! It may pay off big-time! And they don't mind, that is their job!! Most CM's are more than happy to check for you! in fact, one I talked to the other day was more excited than I was!! And that is hard to do!!!:thumbsup2

I also got the 40% off and the DDP for Thanksgiving of this year (2007). The code I used to get the 40% off required that you get the DDP. I didn't realize the DDP was considered a discount. I know when they have offered it free it was, but I didn't know that when you were paying for it, it was considered a discount.

I think that calling to check for codes should be limited to once every 2 to 4 weeks.

Realistically.. any more is just overkill. They do track your calls after all. And nobody wants the 'troublemaker' tag. :)

I've done both the free dining (twice) and purchased the DDP. I'm an AP holder and all three times have had to give up my AP room discount in order to add dining with the CMs telling me you can not stack discounts. I know one of the 40% off codes is allowing people to buy the DDP, but that is not usual. If you add up the amount of food people order on the dining plan and consider that they are only paying $38.00/day it is definitely a discount.

Well I called tonight and got nowhere. The guy told that all discounts end in June and no I don't have a code attached to my name. So I guess for my december trip I am paying full price. That just SUCKS

You couldn't get the DDP with the AP discount because that is a room only discount. You can only get the DDP with a package whether you pay for it or get it free. When we have an AP discount on our room, we use the DDE to get a discount on our food. You can get the DDP with AAA or a discount code off a package. We have the 40% off room discount with the DDP for our trip in September.

On the airline discount, is that a room only discount? You could purchase the DDE and then get 20% off at most restaurants. It is good for a year if you plan on going back.

I received a mailer with a pin. It was actually for the campground FW. I did call and check rates at resorts using this pin..and was told the WL was available..it appears it is about a twenty percent discount. As they are chargng us 258. with the tax..I think the room goes for about a hundred more at the time we are planning to go..which was for 5/19. I am not thrilled..as only the courtyard view is available..which of course was more.
I am wondering if I should call again and ask if there are any other codes applicable to our name. Is this likely?....that we'd receive a mailer for one thing but perhaps be able to snag a discount for another time period with a better discount..does this ever happen. I do see that a previous poster mentioned that they have several reservations using a pin for different time periods. The one I received today ..which appears to be the twenty percent pin..says it's only good until 6/2. Any input you code experts may have is greatly appreciated.

But I think you'll find they'll request a PIN number that is unique to your household to use it.

Good luck!

Dunno about that J...

I just read on another thread that someone called this morning and got it. This was after calling last night & being told no, you need the pin, blah blah blah...

Yeah I saw that JUST after I posted here.

Still the daily reports of people using it willy-nilly have slowed to a crawl. I suspect its gotten a lot tougher to do.

I had to add a day because of flights. When I called to book and again when i called to pay my deposit when I asked if there was a discount available for me they told me no. I even decided it would be nice if my mom could go when we did so I called to see if she had a discount. No way. I thought for sure she would have had one, she hasn't been for years. Bad karma it must be. Just thankful AAA got the Discount for the main part of our reservation.
