Celebrating DH Birthday while in DL

It will be my DH birthday when we go to DL (traveling March 22-26, DH B-Day is 25th). What can I do to make this a special day while we are in the parks? Is there a really neat dinner we could do that night? This is our first time going with our kids + our nephew...

Make sure you get a b-day button for him. He'll get lots of attention all day long, plus if you go to DCA and take the Mission Tortilla Factory tour, a free dozen tortillas. Goofy's Kitchen is always fun for a B-day meal.

OK, since someone else is bringing up Birthdays, I need to ask a question.

My ds is going to be 7 the beginning of May. I'd love to have him celebrate his birthday at DL, but we're going in April. Does it HAVE to be his actual birthday for him to get his button and all the cool treatment? (IE: Do they ask for a birth certificate or something?) This is going to be the only time we go to DL for the next five years or so. I think it would be so cool for him to be able to feel special at least one day he's there.

I am in the same boat, Im going at the beginning of June and my moms birthday is on the 16th. Although we are coming back on the 12th of june we are gonna celebrate her birthday in the park. The 2nd to last day there we are going to have a character birthday breakfast at the Plaza Inn which is right inside disneyland on Mainstreet, we will be getting her a birthdy button with a princess crown. I am not sure what else we are going to do just yet.

You can always get your husband a premade t-shrt that says "PRINCE CHARMING" across the front so he can wear that on his special day. It will make it that much more fun.

Im going with my mom 2 of our girl friends and :rotfl2: my dad... in June, and Ive made a shirt for my dad that says "Im with the Princesses" :hug:


But if you want to go for dinner the Blue Bayou is amazing. It doesent matter what time you go, its like you are eating outdoors at night time. Napa Rose might be nice for you too. But call Disney Dining as soon as you can to make reservations.

The last three trips were done as "Birthday" trips for our kids. The first two were within a month of the birthdays but the next one was five months after. No they don't ask. This trip we are doing my Mom's 70th birthday. We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel and I even ordered a birthday basket to be delivered to her room. Birthdays are fun at Disneyland. The CM's pay special attention to the b-day person too.

Thanks for the replies, guys!! Actually, it's my son who's going to be seven, not my husband. LOL I'd really be robbing the cradle. :lmao: I'm glad they're not sticklers for details down there. I think it would be so special to have him stand out a little in celebration of his big day. After all, you're only seven once! ;)

You should try "My Disneyland Birthday Party" at the Plaza Inn. We did this for my 40th birthday party (yes, adults can do it too!). You need to get a reservation and, as I recall, the cost was $10.00 per person. There's a funny guy dressed as a cake who comes out as MC. Everyone decorates a little cake and then Mickey and Minnie come to take pictures with the birthday people. It was very fun! To make reservations, you have to call Disney Dining (714) 781-DINE. Look at the Disneyland website and search on Birthday Party to get more info.

Yes, I like this one too for birthdays along with the birthday button. Esp if you have young ones OR young at heart. We did it for dh and ds the last 2 years. Dh had more fun that ds. There were several other adults celebrating there as well.

Disney celebrates birthdays whenever you do so have a great time even if it's not the actual day. There is nothing better than a Disney birthday!!! :cool1:

Quick question on this. How far in advance do you have to reserve this? We are going in less than a month. Is it to late to reserve do you think?

While you can reserve up to 60 days in advance, chances are there's still plenty of room available.

I agree that there should still be plenty of room. They have several parties a day so you can pick the time you want. Plus, you can do it anytime during your trip, although it's fun to do it on your actual birthday.
