There is a guy offering omg! free in the game. However when you get to his room he is trading, no free. He has several red treasure chest and one brown. The brown isn't for sale anymore so worth more than the red. (I gave a brown away this week before I realized that) Anyways I traded a club 33 pin and another pin to get the brown. I accepted his trade. Well he gave me the red chest. He then booted me right away. The trouble is it looks brown in the trade box. He knows I wanted brown because I said brown. It is a scam so I thought I would warn people. The brown and red chest look a like. Be careful. Thanks, AveriChristine
My wish list is:
ice cube chairs
fireplace and
water garden/fountain
I have club 33 pins, hearts chairs, and more

Actually, the brown chest is a free prize from the Kellogg's Conquer the Sea game that gives you the Skull Rock guest room and the Skeleton at the Helm. So even if you had gotten the brown chest, you would have gotten a bad deal. Finally, in every trade, it says specifically what item the other player has placed into the trade, even the color, if it is an item that is made in different colors. You should always rely on this description to see what has been placed in the trade and not the picture, which can be misleading.

Thanks your right. I was looking at the picture and not the description. I will be more careful next time. I am horrible at trading. Cant seem to get it right. I am still sure he took avantage because I did ask for the brown. Anyways a lesson learned.

You will learn with experience.
Here are some tips for you:
1 - Read the descriptions when items are placed, instead of going by pictures.
2 - Watch to make sure in between the last item being placed in the window and you clicking "accept" - nothing is removed. (Again, read the words. If something is removed it will say)
3 - Take your time. People will try to rush you. Make sure you are comfortable with what has taken place before agreeing to the trade.
4 - No matter how much you want an item, remember, someone else out there has it too. If you dont trust the person you are trading with, walk away.
5 - Lastly, if you are EVER doing a trade that requires more than 1 window, find an agreed upon CL or mutual friend that you KNOW you can trust (not think, KNOW) to hold items before the last window takes place.
And most important -
6 - Should something go wrong, try to remember with all your mind, it's not real stuff and life with really honestly be ok. :)
Hope this helps. Dont be too hard on yourself. Trading can be tricky, as can many players sadly.

Welcome to the DIS. Some more advice, pay attention to the players guide and other guides that are posted as sticky threads. For instance, there is a retired quest and furniture thread that would have shown you that the brown chest was a prize. Take a good look around there is plenty of information that can help you here!

:thumbsup2 I appricate people posting stuff like this beacause it helps me remember that not every one is a nice fair trader, and lets me know to keep an eye out for said player so I dont get burnt too, I doubt he would have booted you like that if he had done a fair trade. and I think that if more players posted on here "bad traders" people in game would be less likely to try and rip people off. LOL how cool would ebay style trader feedback be lol ohh you only have a 70% rating no thank you.
