Newbie MGM Progress Thread - Gone postal back to you!

We have plenty of time until the due date, but I thought I’d start the progress thread to get the ball rolling. If your name below isn’t already a nice pretty purple, please PM me with your name, address and email address. I will send out a PM with my mailing information soon.

Reminder – the due date is March 22, which means you should have your items in the mail by March 15. Please let me know ASAP if you’re having a problem so we can arrange for an angel if needed. I will be asking for everyone to check in here or via PM midway through to make sure we are all still in it. If I haven’t heard from you at that point I will arrange for an angel.

I have mine half complete but for some reason the two Joann's and three Michaels' near me are all sold out of any Beauty and the Beast stickers etc. I'm getting irritated.

On my element, I'm still playing around with what shape I want to make the shaker box, so I'm no where near being done.

Worse comes to worse, I am heading to Disney in a bit over a week for ESPN weekend. I'm just amazed that everywhere is sold out of Belle! There's a ton of Cinderella, Arial, Sleeping Beauty but no Belle.

DH had a "Halo" night tonight on the XBox 360, so I worked on swap stuff. I am done! I'll put these in the mail to you either Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll post to let you know they're on their way!

Hey, does he do the Halo live? We have two regular boxes and a 360 with HD DVD attachment. Anyway, my boys have just discoverd how much fun it is to kill other people. I like the cooperative play best, but they just want to see their kill numbers go up and don't care which it is. Boys. :rolleyes1

They are counting down the days to Halo 3 and the movie release.

Still on the hunt for Belle stickers. Tried a small independant scrapping store and while they had a TON of Disney stuff, the only Belle stickers were about 6 inches high. Just a tad too large for this project.

man i feel super slow, i just finished cutting out the paper piecing stencils i needed for the sorceror's hat. I like to draw them myself. I still have to find the right paper

It was my first time to use dry embossing as the focal point. It was lots of fun once I got the hang of not going all the way through the paper. ;)

Hey everyone! We are 3 weeks away from the due date, 2 weeks away from the mail by date! I'm going to ask at this point for everyone who hasn't done so already to please check in by next Thursday - March 8. If I haven't heard from you by that point, I'll ask for an angel for that spot.

I'm 3/4 of the way done. I finished hand cutting all the little pieces I needed today. The library pockets for group 2 are done. I just have to cut out the tags and I'm going to try my new cricut for that so it shouldn't take long. I just have to attach the characters on my border for group 3 and then it's done too.

I unexpectedly finished mine today. I didn't like how it was coming together yesterday, but I think I figured it out as best as I am going to be able. So everything is bagged up and will be in the mail on Monday. DH has stuff he has to mail, so I don't even have to go. :woohoo:

That's okay.. I always take pictures just in case I have to re-do them..and than there are times my kids like them but want some adjustments... so I have the photo to go buy.. but than again.. I take pictures of everything..ask DH! :rotfl:

Posting my own progress:
I finished my items for groups 1 & 2 yesterday. I ended up changing my element for group 1 from a library pocket to a paper piecing. I had some better inspiration in that direction.

I'll be angeling a spot in group 3 so I just need some time to think of an idea for that one but I should do that one this week.

I am not able to get to the post office again until Thursday. There is one package from group 1 that has not arrived. nlbnikki said it was sent on March 5th, which means it is probably lost in the postal system. I will give it until Thursday to arrive or for her to send replacements but if not I will swap without it.

I have taken pictures and will upload them one night this week.
