We all know how expensive our favorite hobby can be. It's all about the accesories.......

Here is an interesting article from PC World (http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,128700/article.html?tk=nl_dfxcol)about some things you can do to save a few bucks and still get the results you need!

Great article.

I built a lightbox - different from that one - for shooting pictures for eBay auctions. Take 4 pieces of whiteboard, masking tape and straight pins through the ends into the base, and sides into the back, and you have a boxwith 3 sides and a floor. Lay 2 2 bulb halogen lights accross the top, and its a great shooting area. Much better than hafing all my "stuff showing up in the background of pictures too. If I could post a picture, I would. Only 3 posts to go! :)

i'd love to see some results. white foamcore works well for reflectors so i'm guessing it reflects light back and forth top down in your box to help diffuse the shadows of the objects you're shooting and give decent lighting. i picked up several sized lightboxes cheap on ebay (less than $40 aud shipped) which i use for shooting things like suze's cakes and other things to put on ebay, etc.

No mention of do-it-yourself remote shutter releases?

:) An easy project for Pentax and most Canon DSLR owners. Nikon owners have a different connector that's not so easy to hack in to.
