Okay.. So I am super duper excited because we are heading back to Disney in June. We are staying at the Swan. Now, I have stayed their before, and I like it. However, for some reason it doesn't feel like Disney to me. Am I just crazy? I need convincing!

It doesn't feel very Disney, you're right.
It's nice though and the staff feel like you're in Disney, but it doesn't have the "atmosphere" of any other Dis Hotel, you have a correct gut-feeling

I know, the only Disney feeling you get is in the gift shop..
But like everyone else has said: The swan and dolphin resorts aren't owned by Disney..they're just housed on Disney property..

Most likely because it's owned by Sheraton, not Disney. But cheer up, it's still very nice, nicer than the Dolphin IMO. The Dolphin kinda reminds me of a big green triscuit:confused: .

The Swan and Dolphin, together, are owned by Starwood. The major company behind it. The Sheraton is a company under Starwood.
It isn't owned by Disney or in any way affiliated with Disney. They are only on Disney property. But heck, being on Disney property is still pretty darn good ;)
OT:
In the last few weeks, EVERYTHING to me has been about the Swan and Dolphin lol. I am on the DIS WPASADI competition thing and our last challenge was creating a sister resort to the S&D. There was a huge problem with some of the entries being entirely too realistic getting into other problems that I cannot talk about, but yeah. lol. Just a little tid bit there. Friday we should be getting the results. :)

Look at the bright side, at least you're getting to go to Disney World..Heck, I would kill to go right now. Its not like you'll be in the room the whole time.

Yes you're right. It seemed like it was seperate/ not "magical" to me. It was nice being able to walk to Epcot. But really it just seemed kinda dirty:rolleyes:
But if all else fails, just remember you're in Disney!
Have a good trip and say hi to the mouse for me ;)

i havent personally stayed there, but i hear its really nice. since i dont know much about it, i cant help you very much, but im sure that you wont be there too very much, anyways. i know that when my family and i go on vaca. to wdw, we're hardly ever in the hotel room. we're normally in the parks, enjoying the disney experience. im sure staying at the swan wont make your trip any less magical.

I've stayed many times at the Swan...I loved it. Yes it's not as Diney as the others...but well it's not Disney so there you go...I liked it cause it made me feel more grown up..lol...
I defantly don't think it's DIRTY!!!
But alas we are staying at AKL when we go in June 1-16...Can't wait!!!
