I learned to knit many years ago the english/american way, with the yarn held in the right hand. Lately my right wrist hurts when I knit, so I am trying to switch to the left hand holding the yarn. I just knit a round and I see the knit stitches are on the needle wrong, with the aft bit forward, if you know what I mean. What am I doing wrong?

Anyone know of some internet instruction on left handed/continental knitting?

This is where I went to get info. Hope it helps. I have to say I am faster holding the yarn in my left hand...after I got the hang of it. Kind of like switching the fork from left to right after cutting meat...it does save time where there isn't that extra step...

AS long as the stiches are all the same what difference does it make. I am much faster since I switched to my left hand. There are a couple of things that feel different but if you are consistent they will work out.

I have always held the yarn in the left hand since I started. Once you get the hang out of it everything will look fine.

Thanks all. After a few days of practice doing rib stitch, I have to agree, it is much faster!!:thumbsup2
