I've noticed when people talk about their bids on Priceline they always mention a price, for example $38 plus $20 bonus - my question is this what does it mean? What is a bonus? I am totally confused - I have only used Priceline in the past for grocery shopping so I don't understand how it works with hotels or flights. Can someone please explain? <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

Little by little, I am understanding all the terminology of the "Priceline" language. If you are going to go bid on a hotel through Priceline.com, you want to use the bonus money that's available. Right now, that's $5 bonus money. It means if you bid, say $20 for a 3* hotel, they will add $5 to your bid, so they actually are getting a $25 bid, so you have more chance of getting your bid accepted. The only way to get this special added bonus money, is to go in through a certain link. You can't just go straight to Priceline.com, or the bonus money won't show up. I learned that the hard way! Here's the link. Have fun. I sure have!
