The Dutton Family's Grand Adventure--Final Day!

Today we are going to Animal Kingdom and after lunch my parents and MIL will head back to Ga and then hopefully we can hop over to MGM to see Osborne lights and Fantasmic. We get to Animal Kingdom when it opened and went to Dinoland b/c we are to meet my parents at the rapids at 10:30. We rode the new spin ride and then played one of the games where you shoot a gun to see who gets the target to the top first. I thought it was ridicules of Disney to charge $2 per person per game. However, my boys were only ones playing, so for $16 they each won a stuffed frog. We then headed toward Asia, and my parents weren't there so we rode the rapids ride which was a blast!! By the time my parents got there, the boys had ridden 3 times and then 2 more with my dad! They were soaked, but had fun! We then had cartoon drawings done of the kids and then road dinosaur which I thought was kind of fun!! We went to Safari and then ate at Tusker house which was good!After that my parents and MIL left and we went to see the Bug movie. My 1 yr. old daughter got too scared thought. After this, we decided to go to hotel and swim and pack the car and leave. We were just too tired!!So we got home last night about 11:00pm and are still exhausted!!But this was a wonderful trip!!

Wow, 5 times for the rapids, thats excellent. Glad you had a good time considering all the setbacks you had. Thankx for posting.

Thanks for your reply. Yes the Beverly coke was awful!!The rapids were great!! How do you like staying off site? The one night we stayed at comfort suites, I missed being in the middle of Disney. However, with a family of 6 it is hard to find good affordable accommodations. I hope they have great rates again next year at DD! The MVMCP is so fun, no wait for any rides!

Actually we don't find staying off-site any different than on. The HIFS is great because of the seperate bedrooms and the free breakfast buffet. The reason we always split our stay is to experience a disney hotel. The AKL was amazing, but a little cramped for 5 of us, and we can't afford 2 rooms at these places. I would love to stay on-site for the whole trip just for the neat pools all the hotels offer. We actually had planned on connecting rooms at Pop Century in April, but that doesn't look possible now. My hat is off to you with all the family members you had with you. We went with my sister and her family, and there was no way we all could agree, so we finally went our seperate ways in the mornings.

the rapids......we wore our yellow mickey slickers and we were so hot .....and with those on.......we were soaking wet too and it wasn't from the rapid ride........thanks again

Those boys must have been dripping wet from riding Kali 5 times!
