Taxis- which company to use

I'm looking for thoughts/experiences on taxi companies- is there a preferred company to use or are they all about the same? We will be taking one from the airport to our hotel; likely from hotel to get groceries and back; and possibly a couple of other times to or from parks/attractions if the bus option from the hotel doesn't work for our needs. Thanks!

how many in your group?

if just a couple then the shuttles are cheaper.

would you consider renting a car?

otherwise you might be better off staying onsite at WDW - because offsite transportation is iffy and taxi are expensive.

disney DME will take you back and forth to WDW hotels at no charge from the airport.

There are 4 of us- 2 adults, 1 10 yr old, 1 4 1/2 yr old. We are staying off site and will be using the available shuttle bus service for the most part to and from the parks. We will need to get from the airport to the hotel via taxi. Perhaps to get groceries and back (looking at ordering on-line so may be able to skip this need). Perhaps to/from park if we feel the need to come/go at a time other than the scheduled transportation times. We will be renting a car for our last day to do Gatorland and Arabian Nights and will return the car to the airport so will not need a tazi back. Thank-you for your suggestions!!

You can get a small car from priceline.com for under $25/day depending on the time of year of your visit...that's practically the cost of a single taxi ride.

I don't know of any local taxi companies besides the company that runs the Windsor Hills shuttle service....here's the info on that with their phone#...you might want to call them and inquire how much other services cost.

How does the Windsor Hills Resort daily shuttle service work/operate/etc?

In the sundry shop in the Windsor Hills clubhouse you can find schedules and make arrangements. Shuttle cost is $10 per person round trip to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, or Animal Kingdom. $14 per person round trip to universal, seaworld, and shopping area. There is an information sheet at the clubhouse with the time schedule. The shuttle company is MAINGATE TRANSPORTATION. They can be called at # 407-390-0000. A taxi cab to Disney is $20 one way.. cab to Universal is $32 one way.... Don't forget it costs $10 per day for parking at Disney and Universal if you drive.

most town car and limousines have a 30 minute stop for groceries at no charge to you - but you MUST request this before you arrive at the airport.
