Hoop Dee Doo on Dining plan

Has anyone inquired on using the 2 TS and paying the difference to be in Catagory 1? Thank you in advance for any responses.:thumbsup2

I asked dining when I made my reservation and was told no but I plan on asking again upon arrival at HDD in June. It's worth a try.

What is category 1? :confused3 It is the best seating area, there are 3 catagorys and DP only allows cat 2 or 3. Where you get depends on when you book, first come best seats!

Doesn't work like that anymore as far as first come best seats. That is where the new Categories come in. You book what you want and pay for it. If you book Cat 3 seats you aren't going to get the better seats just because you might have booked in advance. You are going to get the Cat 3 seats that you paid for. I love this new seating deal. We have balcony seats once and it was terrible. We vowed never to go back til they gave the option of paying for better seats. We are now booked for June in Cat 1 seats. Now on the DDP can you specify if you want Cat 2 or 3? Is that what you were referring to about first booking gets best seats?

Before you do that, it might be worth calling again. The first time I called, the CM told me all dates/times for our entire length of stay were booked. I called back the next day for something else and, at the end of my call, just mentioned in an offhand way the fact that I was disappointed about not getting the ressie I wanted for Hoop Dee Do. She checked and - miracles never cease - gave me an entire range of days and times to choose from :confused: How does this happen??

Anyway, I ended up getting exactly what I wanted: cat 2 on the DDP. :woohoo:

When I called to make our ADP's was told all Hoops were booked during our enitre stay, which was a :sad2: bummer---cuz that was our only MUST do!

I called back later that night and voila---had my pick of days and times. Not going to question this, but put it under my bonnet as a Never Give Up :cheer2: on those ADP's.

Amazing. If there's one thing I've learned from the DIS boards, it's "persistence pays off." Keep trying and you're likely to get what you want eventually. :thumbsup2

That's very strange because that happened to me too. I called 181 days out & the entire week for HDD on the DP was booked except 1 5:00 show. I called back a week later & several days & times had opened up.

I wonder if the seating is very limited for DP & they wait to see who books OOP first.

While waiting for our first HDD in '05, we had a blast watching a bunny rabbit harrass a peacock---it was hilarious and what preshow entertainment!!

Once inside, I almost pouted (pouting at WDW? For shame, mother, for shame!) b/c I was disappointed w/ are seating (upstairs, on left side)---I thought we would miss all of the action---BOY HOWDY, was I wrong!! We are part of the show twice! I am hoping the same CM's are there.
