Hey, is anyone else planning to go in January of '08?
I know it's a long time in advance yet.

I'm looking for info on what kind of levels of crowds to expect between about the 5th and 19th (I'm in the UK and don't know if there are any big holidays in the US between those dates) and also what the weather is likely to be like.

The crowds from new years eve till the marathon weekend are moderate. They drop slightly until martin luther king weekend when they are again moderate.

We've gone during this time the past two years and enjoy the parks as they are not usually full.

I've been twice in january and will be there jan 2008:woohoo: The crowds are always manageable although the weather can be variable, although coming from the uk like me, you will probably feel plenty warm enough, i have made it to a waterpark both times:goodvibes So to answer, i would say that while the parks aren't dead, they are quiet enough to enjoy everything without too much of a wait.
