View Full Version : What are the chances of switching pre-selected Air Canada airline seats?

I have two tickets booked on an air canada 767 plane. We wanted two seats by the window. (just so we could have some space to ourselves for a change) The plane configuration is 2-3-2. Our travel agent told us today all they had available for agent pre-selection was in the middle section of the plane. I am not happy about this. She said the agents are only alotted so many seat for pre-booking and that we shouldn't have a problem changing them upon check in. Do you think this is feasible? I'd really be happier knowing the two of us were not stuck in the middle with a stranger. (I absolutly hate, HATE, HATE flying) If these tickets hadn't been paid for I'd cancel our Disney trip. It isn't worth the stress.
What do you think? Do we have a chance?

You have a "chance". But, it depends on how fully the flight is booked, how many last minute cancels there are, and getting to check-in early. With the reduced flight schedule AC is running now I've been unable to get any seat assigned at check-in on my last two flights because of over booking. Had to get my seat at the gate. However, all the segments were 767 and I had either window or 1 seat in from the window each time. So window seats seem to be more frequently cancelled for some reason.

I would suggest trying to call AC directly and ask them to see if they could ""preassign a seat for you"" They would ask for your flight number and name. I just did this with no problem. I did not let them know that my TA had already got preassigned seats, just no the ones I wanted. Give it a try it can't hurt. AC number is 1-888-247-2262.
Good Luck
